1 Pathen Capa Jesuh Khrih kah olthangthena tongnah.
The first words of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
2 Tonghma Isaiah dongaha daek tangtae bangla, “Nang hmai ah kamah kah puencawn kan tueih ne, anih loh na longpuei tea rhoekbah ni.
Even as it is said in the book of Isaiah the prophet, See, I send my servant before your face, who will make ready your way;
3 Khosoek ah pang ol loh, “Boeipa kah longpuei te rhoekbah uh'a caehlong te a dueng la saii uh,” a ti.
The voice of one crying in the waste land, Make ready the way of the Lord, make his roads straight;
4 Johan tah khosoek ah aka nuem la om tih tholh khodawkngainah dongah yutnah baptisma a kawng thui.
John came, and gave baptism in the waste land, preaching baptism as a sign of forgiveness of sin for those whose hearts were changed.
5 Te dongah Judah kho boeih neh Jerusalem pum loh anih taengla khong uh. Te vaengah a tholhnah tea phong uh tih Jordan tuiva ah Johan loha nuem.
And there went out to him all the people of Judaea, and all those of Jerusalem, and they were given baptism by him in the river Jordan, saying that they were sinners.
6 Te vaengah aka om Johan loh kalauk mula bai tih, a pumpu ah maehpho cihin a naak tih tangboeng neh kohong khoitui te a caak.
And John was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather band about him; and his food was locusts and honey.
7 A hoe vaengah, “Kai lakah aka len tah kai hnukah ha pawk. A taengah ka buluktih a khokhom rhui hlam ham pataeng ka koih pawh.
And he said to them all, There is one coming after me who is greater than I, whose shoes I am not good enough to undo.
8 Kai loh nangmihte tui ah kan nuem, dae anih long tah nangmihte Mueihla Cim ah n'nuem ni,” a ti.
I have given you baptism with water, but he will give you baptism with the Holy Spirit.
9 Tekah khohnina pha vaengah Jesuh khaw Galilee kah Nazareth lamkah halo tih, Jordan ah Johan loha nuem.
And it came about in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was given baptism by John in the Jordan.
10 Tui khui lamkah koea thoh vaengah vaan te ong uh tih Mueihla te vahu bangla a soaha rhum te a hmuh.
And straight away, coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens broken open and the Spirit coming down on him as a dove:
11 Te vaengah vaan lamkah ol ha thoeng tih, “Nang tah Capa ka thintlola na om, nang taengah ka lungtlun,” a ti.
And a voice came out of heaven, You are my dearly loved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
12 Te phoeiah anihte Mueihla loh khosoek la thaenga khuen.
And straight away the Spirit sent him out into the waste land.
13 Khosoek ah khohnin sawmlia om vaengah Satan loha cuek. Te vaengah satlung taengah khaw om dae anihte puencawnrhoek loha khut uh.
And he was in the waste land for forty days, being tested by Satan; and he was with the beasts; and the angels took care of him.
14 Tedae Johan te a voeih uh phoeiah Jesuh tah Galilee la pawk. Te vaengah Pathen kah olthangthen te a hoe.
Now after John had been put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news of God,
15 Te vaengah, “A tue te soep coeng tih Pathen ram tah yoei coeng, yut uh lamtah olthangthen te tangnah uh laeh,” a ti.
And saying, The time has come, and the kingdom of God is near: let your hearts be turned from sin and have faith in the good news.
16 Tedae Galilee tuili kaengaha caeh vaengah, Simon neh Simon mana Andrew tah tuihoi la om rhoi tih tuili ah lawk ana voeih rhoi te a hmuh.
And going by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon, and Andrew, the brother of Simon, putting a net into the sea: for they were fishermen.
17 Te dongah Jesuh loh amih rhoi te, “Kai hnukah bang rhoi lamtah nangmih rhoi te hlang aka tu tuihoi la om ham kang khueh eh?,” a ti nah.
And Jesus said to them, Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.
18 Te dongah lawkna te paka hlah rhoi tih Jesuh te a vai rhoi.
And they went straight from their nets, and came after him.
19 Tedae hawta caeh vaengah Zebedee capa James neh a mana Johan tea hmuh. Te vaengah amih rhoi te lawng khuiah lawka bo rhoi.
And going on a little farther, he saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were in their boat stitching up their nets.
20 Te dongah amih rhoi te pahoia khue hatah a napa Zebedee neh lawng khuiaha kutlohrhoek te pak a hlahtih amah hnukah cet rhoi.
And he said, Come after me: and they went away from their father Zebedee, who was in the boat with the servants, and came after him.
21 Kapernaum la a kun uh vaengkah Sabbath ah tah tunim la tlek kun tih a thuituen.
And they came to Capernaum; and on the Sabbath he went into the Synagogue and gave teaching.
22 Te vaengah anih kah thuituennah soah let uh. Amiha thuituente saithainah aka khueh la om tih cadaekrhoek bangla om pawh.
And they were full of wonder at his teaching, because he gave it as one having authority, and not like the scribes.
23 Amih kah tunim ah hlang pakhat tah mueihla thae neh lawt om.
And there was in their Synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he gave a cry,
24 Te vaengah pang tih, “Nazareth Jesuh kaimih neh nangte mebang tloe lae? Kaimih he poci sak ham nim na pawk? Nang unim ti khaw kam ming ta, Pathen kah hlangcim la,” a ti nah.
Saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I see well who you are, the Holy One of God.
25 Tedae Jesuh loh anih te a ho tih, “Paa lamtah anih lamloh cet laeh,” a ti nah.
And Jesus said to him sharply, Be quiet, and come out of him.
26 Te vaengah mueihla thae loh anihte a suvaih sak. Te phoeiah ola len la pangtih anih lamloh coe.
And the unclean spirit, shaking him violently, and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 Te vaengah boeih a ngaihmang uh. Te dongah amamih te oelh uh thae tih, “Metlam nim he? Saithainah neh thuituennah a thai loh, mueihla thae rhoek pataeng a tueih vaengah a ol a ngai uh,” a ti uh.
And they were all greatly surprised, so that they put questions to one another, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he gives orders even to the unclean spirits, and they do what he says.
28 Te dongah a olthang tah Galilee pingpang khotomrhali boeih ah cet khonghak.
And news of him went out quickly everywhere into all parts of Galilee round about.
29 Te phoeiah tunim lamloh tlek cet uh tih James neh Johan khaw, Simon neh Andrew im la pawk uh.
And when they came out of the Synagogue, they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.
30 Tedae Simon masae tah tlo tih yalh. Te dongah anih ham te Jesuh taengah tlek a thui uh.
Now Simon's wife's mother was ill, with a burning heat; and they gave him word of her:
31 Te dongah a paan tih a kut te a tuuk pah. Anih te a thoh vaengah anih te satloh loh a hlah tih amih te a kok.
And he came and took her by the hand, lifting her up; and she became well, and took care of their needs.
32 Hlaem a pha tih khomik a tlak vaengah tloh aka khueh rhoek neh rhaithae aka kaem boeih te Jesuh taengla a khuen uh.
And in the evening, at sundown, they took to him all who were diseased, and those who had evil spirits.
33 Te vaengah kho pum ah aka omte thohka ah tingtun uh.
And all the town had come together at the door.
34 Te phoeiah tlohtat soeprhep aka khueh hlangtlo muep a hoeih sak. Rhaithae khaw muep a haek. Tedae amah te aming uh dongah rhaithae rhoek te cal sak pawh.
And a number, who were ill with different diseases, he made well, and sent out evil spirits; but he did not let the evil spirits say anything, because they had knowledge of him.
35 Tedae khohmuep aih. ah yueya thoo tih aka nong te khosoek hmuen la cet tih thangthui.
And in the morning, a long time before daylight, he got up and went out to a quiet place, and there he gave himself up to prayer.
36 Te vaengah Simon neh a taengkah rhoek loh Jesuh hnuk a dawn uh.
And Simon and those who were with him came after him.
37 Tedae Jesuh te a hmuh uh vaengah a taengah, “Nangte boeih n'toem,” a ti na uh.
And when they came up with him, they said to him, Everyone is looking for you.
38 Te vaengah amih te, “Kho om nah takuem ah cet uh sih lamtah, teah khawka hoeeh. Te hamni ka lo rhoe,” a ti nah.
And he said to them, Let us go to other parts into the nearest towns, so that I may give teaching there, because for this purpose I came.
39 Te dongah Galilee pum ah cettih amih kah tunim ah olthangthen a hoe phoeiah rhaithae tea vai.
And he went into their Synagogues in every part of Galilee, preaching and driving out evil spirits.
40 Te vaengah, hmaibae pakhat tah anih taengah pawk tih a hloep phoeiah a cungkueng thil. Te phoeiah Jesuh te, “Boeipa na ngaih koinih kai he nan cim sak thai ni,” a ti nah.
And a leper came to him and, going down on his knees before him, made a request, saying, If it is your pleasure, you have the power to make me clean.
41 Te vaengaha thinphattih a kut tea yueng. Anih te a taek tih, “Ka ngaih ta, cim saeh,” a ti nah.
And being moved with pity, he put out his hand, and touching him said to him, It is my pleasure; be made clean.
42 Te vaengah hmaibae tah anih lamloh pahoi nong tih cim.
And straight away the disease went from him, and he was made clean.
43 Te phoeiah thanueihah anihte tleka tueih.
And he sent him away, saying to him very sharply,
44 Tedae anih te, “Na thui loeng loeng pawt ham ngaithuen. Namah cet lamtah khosoih na tueng phoeiah na cimcaihnah dongah Moses loh a uen te tah nawn pah. Te tew amih taengah paipueinah la om saeh,” a ti nah.
See that you say nothing to any man: but go and let the priest see you, and make yourself clean by an offering of the things ordered by Moses, for a witness to them.
45 Tedae a caeh neh a tongtih punga hoe dongah ol te yilhcet. Te dongah Jesuh tah kho khuiah loloh kun thai voel pawh. Te phoeiah tah khosoek hmuen ah vawl om dae anih tea taengvai lamloh a paan uh.
But he went out, and made it public, giving an account of it everywhere, so that Jesus was no longer able to go openly into a town, but was outside in the waste land; and they came to him from every part.
