< Rhaengsae 5 >

1 BOEIPA aw poek lamtah kaimih taengkah aka thoeng te paelki laeh. Paelki lamtah kaimih sokah kokhahnah he hmu lah.
Remember, O Lord, what has happened to us: behold, and look on our reproach.
2 Kaimih kah rho te hlanglak taengla, ka im te kholong taengla pawk coeng.
Our inheritance has been turned away to aliens, our houses to strangers:
3 Cadah la ka om uh tih nuhmai bangla ka manu napa a om moenih.
we are become orphans, we have no father, our mothers are as widows.
4 Kamamih tui ha tangka neh ka ok uh tih kamamih kah thing ha a phu daengah ha pawk.
We have drunk our water for money; our wood is sold to us [for a burden] on our neck:
5 Ka rhawn ah n'hloem uh vaengah ka kohnue uh pawt bangla kaimih he n'duem sak pawh.
we have been persecuted, we have laboured, we have had no rest.
6 Buh ka cung uh ham khaw Egypt neh Assyria taengah kut ka duen uh.
Egypt gave the hand [to us], Assur to their own satisfaction.
7 A pa rhoek khaw tholh uh tih kaimih taengah a om voel moenih. Tedae kaimih loh amih kathaesainah te ka phueih uh.
Our fathers sinned, [and] are not: we have borne their iniquities.
8 Sal rhoekkaimih soah n'taemrhai uh tih amih kut lamkah aka bawt om pawh.
Servants have ruled over us: there is none to ransom [us] out of their hand.
9 Khosoek cunghang hmai ah ka hinglu nen ni ka buh ka dang uh.
We shall bring in our bread with [danger of] our lives, because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 Khokha rhamling hmai ah ka vin khaw hmaiulh bangla tloo coeng.
Our skin is blackened like an oven; they are convulsed, because of the storms of famine.
11 Zion kah huta rhoek neh Judah khopuei kah oila rhoek khaw a tholh puei uh.
They humbled the women in Sion, the virgins in the cities of Juda.
12 Amih kut neh mangpa rhoek a kuiok sak tih patong rhoek kah maelhmai khaw hiin uh pawh.
Princes were hanged up by their hands: the elders were not honored.
13 Tongpang rhoek loh phaklung a phueih uh tih camoe rhoek te thingpum dongah paloe uh.
The chosen men lifted up [the voice in] weeping, and the youths fainted under the wood.
14 Vongka lamkah patong rhoek neh, tongpang rhoek khaw a rhotoeng lamloh kangkuen uh.
And the elders ceased from the gate, the chosen men ceased from their music.
15 Kaimih lungbuei kah omthennah he kangkuen coeng tih kaimih kah lamnah khaw nguekcoinah la poeh.
The joy of our heart has ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
16 Kamih lu kah rhuisam khaw yulh coeng. Anunae ka tholh uh khaw kaimih ham coeng ni.
The crown has fallen [from] our head: yes, woe to us! for we have sinned.
17 Te dongah ko kaimih lungbuei he pumthim hainak la coeng. He dongah kaimih kah maelhmai khaw hmuep.
For this has grief come; our heart is sorrowful: for this our eyes are darkened.
18 Zion tlang aka pong te a soah maetang ni a pongpa coeng.
Over the mountain of Sion, because it is made desolate, foxes have walked therein.
19 BOEIPA namah tah kumhal duela na om tih, na ngolkhoel khaw cadilcahma phoeikah cadilcahma duela cak.
But you, O Lord, shall dwell for ever; your throne [shall endure] to generation and generation.
20 Balae tih a yoeyah la kaimih nan hnilh? Kaimih nan hnoo khaw khohnin loh sen.
Therefore will you utterly forget us, and abandon us a long time?
21 BOEIPA aw kaimih he namah taengah m'mael sak laeh. Ka mael uh van daengah ni hlamat kah bangla kaimih kah khohnin thai neh ka mael uh eh.
Turn us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be turned; and renew our days as before.
22 Kaimih taengah a nah la na thintoek tih kaimih he nan hnawt nan hnawt mai.
For you have indeed rejected us; you have been very angry against us.
