Joshua 23
1 Kum te yeta om phoeiaha kaepvai thunkha boeih taeng lamkah Israel te BOEIPA loh a duem sak tih Joshua khaw a khohnin loh patong ben laa paan coeng.
And it came to pass a long time after that YHWH had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old [and] stricken in age. (stricken...: Heb. come into days)
2 Te dongah Israel pum kah a hamca rhoek neha lu rhoek, laitloek rhoek neh rhoiboei rhoek te Joshua loh a khue tih, “Kai he ka khohnin loh patong ben la ka paan coeng.
And Joshua called for all Israel, [and] for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old [and] stricken in age:
3 Namtom boeih taengah BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih mikhmuh aha saii boeih te na hmuh uh coeng. BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih hama vathoh thil coeng.
And ye have seen all that YHWH your Elohim hath done unto all these nations because of you; for YHWH your Elohim [is] he that hath fought for you.
4 Namtom aka sueng he nangmih koca rhoek kah rho la nangmih taengah kan tael tih Jordan lamkah namtom boeih pataeng khotlak tuili puei due ka saii te na hmuh uh.
Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward. (westward: Heb. at the sunset)
5 Amih te BOEIPA na Pathen loh na mikhmuh lamkaha haek vetih na mikhmuh lamkaha tulh bitni. Te vaengah BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih taengaha thui vanbangla a khohmuen te na pang pa uh bitni.
And YHWH your Elohim, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as YHWH your Elohim hath promised unto you.
6 Tedae Moses kah olkhueng cabu dongah daek tangtae te banvoei bantang lamloh taengphael tak mueh la ngaithuen ham neh boeih vai ham taoe thahuel uh.
Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom [to] the right hand or [to] the left;
7 Nangmih lakli ah aka sueng namtom rhoek he kun thil uh boeh. A pathen ming te phoei uh boeh, toemngam uh boeh, amih taengah thothueng uh boeh, amih taengah bakop uh boeh.
That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their elohim, nor cause to swear [by them], neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
8 Tahae khohnin due na saii uh vanbangla BOEIPA na Pathen taeng bueng ah mah hangdang uh.
But cleave unto YHWH your Elohim, as ye have done unto this day. (But cleave...: or, For if ye will cleave, etc)
9 Namtom vangpuei pilnu pataeng BOEIPA loh na mikhmuh lamkaha haek tih tihnin due nangmih mikhmuh ah hlang pakhat khaw a pai voel moenih.
For YHWH hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but [as for] you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day. (For YHWH ...: or, Then YHWH will drive)
10 Nangmih taengaha thui vanbangla BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih hama vathoh coeng dongah nangmih lamkah hlang pakhat long mah thawngkhat khaw a hloem coeng.
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for YHWH your Elohim, he [it is] that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
11 Te dongah BOEIPA na Pathen te na hinglu neh lungnah ham rhep ngaithuen uh.
Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love YHWH your Elohim. (yourselves: Heb. your souls)
12 Tedae nangmih taengkah aka sueng namtom hlangrhuel taengah na mael na mael uh tih na hangdang uh, amih neh na yuva uh tih amih neh nangmih te na pawnhlai uh thae atah,
Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, [even] these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
13 namtom rhoek he BOEIPA na Pathen loh na mikhmuh lamkah haek ham khoep voel mahpawh tila ming rhoe ming uh. BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih taengah m'paek khohmuen then lamkah na milh uh hil nangmih ham pael neh hlaeh bangla, na vae ah cungcik la, na mik khuiah tlaeh la om uh ni.
Know for a certainty that YHWH your Elohim will no more drive out [any of] these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which YHWH your Elohim hath given you.
14 Tihnin ah Kai loh diklai pum kah longpuei ah ka cet coeng. BOEIPA na Pathen loh nang taengaha thui ol then boeih te tah ol pakhat khaw dalh pawh tila na thinko boeih, na hinglu boeih neh na ming uh. Nangmih ham boeih ha thoeng tih a ol pakhat pataeng khaw a dalh sak moenih.
And, behold, this day I [am] going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which YHWH your Elohim spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, [and] not one thing hath failed thereof.
15 BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih taengaha thui ol then boeih loh nangmih hama thoeng vanbangla BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih m'paek khohmuen then dong lamkah nangmih m'mitmoeng sak hlan khuiah hno thae cungkuem te nangmih soah BOEIPA loh hang khuen van ni.
Therefore it shall come to pass, [that] as all good things are come upon you, which YHWH your Elohim promised you; so shall YHWH bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which YHWH your Elohim hath given you.
16 BOEIPA na Pathen loh nangmih ng'uen paipi te na poe uh, na cet uh tih pathen tloe rhoek taengah tho na thueng uh, amih te na bakop thil atah BOEIPA kah thintoek loh nangmih taengah ha sai vetih nangmih taengah m'paek khohmuen then dong lamkah baang na milh uh ni,” a ti nah.
When ye have transgressed the covenant of YHWH your Elohim, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other elohim, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of YHWH be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
