< Joba 5 >

1 Khue laeh nang aka doo om nim? U hlangcim taengah na mael ve.
Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?
2 Aka ang te konoinah loh a ngawn tih hloih loh thatlainah a duek sak.
For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
3 Aka ang loh a yung a hlak ka hmuh vaengah a tolkhoeng buengrhuet ka tap.
I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 A ca rhoek te khangnah lamloh lakhla tih vongka ah a phop uh vaengah aka huul om pawh.
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:
5 A cangah te bungpong loh a caak pah tih hlinghang lamkah a loh dae a thadueng te tuihal loh a mam pah.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.
6 Laipi lamloh boethae thoeng pawt tih diklai lamloh thakthaenah a poe bal moenih.
For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 Tedae hlang he thakthaenah khuiah a sak tih rhaek ca rhoek bangla ding hang.
For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.
But as for me I will seek unto God, and unto God commit my cause;
9 A len la a saii vaengah khobaerhambae te khenah lek pawh, tae lek pawh.
Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
10 Diklai hman ah khotlan a paek tih lohma li ah tui a hlah.
Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;
11 Tlarhoel rhoek te hmuensang ah a khueh tih kopang rhoek te khangnah khuila a hoeptlang.
Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.
12 Aka thaai kah kopoek te a phae tih a kut loh lungming cueihnah saii thai pawh.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.
13 Aka cueih khaw amah kah rhaithinah neh a tuuk tih aka hlang hnuei kah cilsuep he hma paitok.
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:
14 Khothaih ah a hmuep neh hum uh tih khothun ah khoyin bangla a phatuem uh.
They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.
15 Khodaeng te amih ka dongkah cunghang lamlong khaw tlungluen kut lamloh a khang.
And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 Te dongah tattloel ham ngaiuepnah om dae dumlai loh amah ka a buem.
So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.
17 Pathen loh a toel hlanghing he a yoethen tih Tlungthang kah thuituennah sit boeh.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Amah loh a tloh sak dae a hma te a poi pah tih a kut dongah hoeih uh.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 Citcai parhuk lamloh nang n'huul vetih a parhih ah yoethae loh nang soah m'ben mahpawh.
He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 Nang te khokha vaengah dueknah lamloh, caemtloek vaengah cunghang kut lamloh n'lat ni.
In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Olka dongkah rhuihet lamloh n'thuh vetih rhoelrhanah a pai vaengah na rhih mahpawh.
Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.
And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.
26 A tue vaengkah canghlom a coi bangla na hminkhah vaengah phuel te na paan ni.
Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.
27 He tah amah la n'khe uh tangloeng he ne. He he hnatun lamtah namah loh namah dongah ming,” a ti nah.
Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.
