< Joba 34 >
1 Elihu loh koep a doo tih,
Moreover Elihu answered,
2 Aka cueih rhoek ka ol hnatun uh lamtah aka ming rhoek loh kai taengla hnakaeng uh.
“Hear my words, you wise men. Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
3 Hna loh olthui a nuemnai tih lai loh caak te a ten.
For the ear tries words, as the palate tastes food.
4 Tiktamnah te mamih ham coelh uh sih lamtah a then te mamih lakli ah ming uh sih.
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
5 Job loh, ‘Ka tang lalah Pathen loh ka tiktamnah a hnawt.
For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right.
6 Ka tiktamnah khaw ka laithae bang mai la boekoeknah pawt mai ah ka thaltang loh rhawp coeng,’ a ti.
Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’
7 Tui bangla tamdaengnah aka o Job bang hlang he om nim.
What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water,
8 Boethae aka saii neh rhoihui bangla yiin tih halang hlang rhoek taengah khaw pongpa.
who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
9 ‘Pathen taengah a ngaingaih vaengah hlang hmaiben pawh,’ a ti.
For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’
10 Te dongah thinko aka khueh hlang rhoek loh kai taengah hnatun uh. Halangnah he Pathen lamloh savisava tih Tlungthang he dumlai neh savisava coeng.
“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
11 Hlang kah bisai he amah taengla a thuung tih, hlang a caehlong bangla amah loh a hmuh.
For the work of a man he will render to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
12 Pathen tah boe tueng pawt tih Tlungthang loh tiktamnah te a khun sak moenih.
Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
13 Amah loh diklai ah unim a khueh tih lunglai he a pum la u taengah nim a tloeng.
Who put him in charge of the earth? Or who has appointed him over the whole world?
14 Amah taengkah loh a khueh a lungbuei, a mueihla neh a hiil te amah taengla khoem koinih,
If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,
15 Pumsa boeih he rhenten pal vetih hlang he laipi la mael ni.
all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
16 Yakmingnah a om atah he he hnatun lamtah ka olthui ol he hnakaeng lah.
“If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words.
17 Tiktamnah aka thiinah aisat loh a ngoldoelh tih, aka dueng, aka khuet loh m'boe sak aya?
Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,
18 Manghai te, ‘Hlang muen,’ hlangcong te ‘Halang,’ a ti nah nim?
who says to a king, ‘Vile!’ or to nobles, ‘Wicked!’?
19 Amah loh mangpa maelhmai dan pawt tih tattloel maelhmai lakah rhoeikhang kah a hmat tloe moenih. Amih boeih te amah kut dongah kutngo ni.
He does not respect the persons of princes, nor respect the rich more than the poor, for they all are the work of his hands.
20 Mikhaptok ah a duek dongah pilnam khaw khoyin pathung ah tuen tih khum uh. Kut nen pawt akhaw aka lueng a khoe uh.
In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away. The mighty are taken away without a hand.
21 A mik te hlang kah longpuei dongah a khueh tih a khokan boeih te a hmuh.
“For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.
22 Boethae aka saii rhoek thuh hamla hmaisuep om pawt tih dueknah hlipkhup khaw a om moenih.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Pathen taengkah laitloeknah dongla a pha ham coeng dongah hlang te koep a cae moenih.
For he does not need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.
24 Aka khuet te khenah a om pawt ah a phaek tih amih yueng la a tloe a khueh.
He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.
25 Amih kah khoboe te a hmat dongah, khoyin ah a maelh tih pop uh.
Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
26 Halang rhoek ham tah hmuh nah hmuen ah amih te kut a paeng thil.
He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
27 Te dongah ni a hnuk lamloh nong uh tangloeng tih a longpuei boeih te a cangbam uh pawh.
because they turned away from following him, and would not pay attention to any of his ways,
28 Tattloel kah pangngawlnah te a taengla pawk tih mangdaeng kah pangngawlnah a yaak.
so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted.
29 Tedae amah te mong tih ulong a boe sak. Maelhmai a thuh vaengah ulong anih a mae? Tedae namtom so neh hlang khat soah khaw rhenten om ta.
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,
30 Lailak hlang a manghai khaw pilnam ham hlaeh la poeh.
that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.
31 Pathen taengah tah, ‘Ka laikoi pawt khaw ka phueih.
“For has any said to God, ‘I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
32 Nang kam hmuh pawt ah kai nan thuinuet coeng. Dumlai ka saii mai cakhaw ka koei voel boel eh,’ a ti nama.
Teach me that which I do not see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
33 Na hnawt coeng dongah te kah te namah taeng lamloh na thuung aya? Namah loh na coelh coeng, kai long moenih. Te dongah na ming te thui to.
Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
34 Thinko aka khueh hlang rhoek loh, kai taengah thui uh lamtah hlang cueih loh kai taengkah he hnatun saeh.
Men of understanding will tell me, yes, every wise man who hears me:
35 Job he mingnah neh cal pawt tih, a ol long a cangbam moenih.
‘Job speaks without knowledge. His words are without wisdom.’
36 A pa nae, boethae hlang kah taikhaih dongah, Job loh a yoeyah la loepdak saeh.
I wish that Job were tried to the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
37 A tholhnah te mamih laklo ah boekoek neh, a koei uh tih kut a paeng dongah, Pathen taengah a ol pung,” a ti.
For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.”
