< Joba 27 >
1 Job loh amah kah a huel ham te a koei tih,
And Job continued taking up his parable, and said,
2 “Pathen kah hingnah loh kai kah laitloeknah a khoe tih Tlungthang lo ka hinglu a phaep.
As God liveth, who hath removed justice from me; and by the Almighty, who hath embittered my soul:
3 Ka khuikah ka hiil boeih neh ka hnarhong khuikah he Pathen mueihla ni.
All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;
4 Ka hmuilai loh dumlai thui boel saeh lamtah ka lai loh palyal la caitawk boel saeh.
Shall my lips not speak any wrong, nor shall my tongue utter deceit.
5 Nangmih te kan tang sak atah kai ham savisava. Ka pal duela ka muelhtuetnah he kamah lamloh ka khoe mahpawh.
Far be it from me that I should justify you; till I depart hence will I not allow [any one] to take my integrity away from me.
6 Ka duengnah te ka kop vetih ka hlah mahpawh. Kamah tue lamlong tah ka thinko he veet voel mahpawh.
I have laid fast hold on my righteousness, and I will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me [for my conduct] during all my life.
7 Ka thunkha te a halang bangla, kai aka tlai thil khaw a boethae bangla om saeh.
Like the wicked is [therefore] my enemy, and he that riseth up against me like a wrong-doer.
8 Lailak kah ngaiuepnah tah menim? A mueluem tih Pathen loh a hinglu a bong pah.
For what is the hope of the hypocrite, when he hath gained unjust wealth, when God casteth forth his soul?
9 A soah citcai loh a pai vaengah a pangngawlnah te Pathen loh a hnatun nim?
Will God hear his cry, when distress cometh upon him?
10 Tlungthang dongah pang a dok vetih, a tue boeih ah Pathen a khue bitni.
Or can he find delight in the Almighty? can he call on God at all times?
11 Pathen kah kut te nangmih kan thuinuet phoe vetih, Tlungthang taengkah te ka phah mahpawh.
I will instruct you concerning what is in the hand of God: [the way] which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
12 Nangmih boeih khaw na hmuh vaengah balae tih a honghi neh na hoemdawk he.
Lo! ye yourselves have all beheld it: why is it then that ye deal in such vanities?
13 Halang hlang loh Pathen taeng lamkah khoyo neh hlanghaeng loh Tlungthang taeng lamkah rho a dang he,
This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the portion of tyrants, which they shall receive from the Almighty.
14 a ca te cunghang hamla a ping pah tih a cadil cahma khaw buh cung uh mahpawh.
If his children be multiplied, it is only for the sword; and his offspring will not be satisfied with bread.
15 A rhaengnaeng, a rhaengnaeng te dueknah loh a up vetih a nuhmai rhoek loh rhah uh mahpawh.
Those of his that are left to escape will be buried by death; and his widows will not be able to weep.
16 Cak te laipi bangla hmoeng vetih hnicu te dikpo bangla soe ni.
Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare garments [as plentifully] as the clay:
17 Tawn cakhaw aka dueng loh a bai vetih cak te ommongsitoe loh a tael ni.
He may prepare, but the righteous will clothe himself [therewith], and the silver the innocent will divide.
18 A im te ning bangla a sak tih dungtlungim bangla rhalrhing a khueh.
He buildeth his house like the moth, and like a hut that a keeper hath made.
19 Hlanglen la yalh dae khoem uh mahpawh. A mik a dai dae amah om voel pawh.
Rich will he lie down, but will not be gathered [into the grave]: one openeth his eyes, and he is no more.
20 Anih te tui bangla mueirhih loh a phatawt khoyin ah cangpalam loh a pom.
Like a flood will terror overtake him, in the night a tempest will steal him away.
21 Anih te kanghawn loh a khuen tih khum. Te vaengah anih te amah hmuen lamloh a yawn.
The east wind will lift him up, and he must be gone; and it hurleth him like a storm out of his place.
22 Anih te a voeih tih lungma a ti pawt dongah a kut lamloh yong la yong coeng.
And [God] will cast [evil] upon him, and bare no pity: out of his hand [his wealth] will surely escape.
23 A taengah a kut a paeng uh tih anih te amah hmuen lamloh kut a ving thil.
Men will clap their hands over him, and will hiss after him out of his place.
