< Joba 19 >

1 Job loh a doo tih,
And Job made answer and said,
2 Me hil nim ka hinglu na pae sak vetih ol neh kai nan phop uh ve?
How long will you make my life bitter, crushing me with words?
3 Voei rha ka hmai na thae sak uh coeng, kai nan toeh te na yak pawh.
Ten times now you have made sport of me; it gives you no sense of shame to do me wrong.
4 Ka taengah ka tholh a rhaeh pueng dongah ka palang tueng pataeng ngawn.
And, truly, if I have been in error, the effect of my error is only on myself.
5 Kai soah na pantai mai tih kai kokhahnah bangla kai taengah na tluung tueng pai.
If you make yourselves great against me, using my punishment as an argument against me,
6 Pathen loh kai n'khun sak tih amah kah tluum te ka kaepvai ah a vael.
Be certain that it is God who has done me wrong, and has taken me in his net.
7 Kuthlahnah te ka doek tih bomah ka bih cakhaw n'doo pawt dongah tiktamnah om pawh.
Truly, I make an outcry against the violent man, but there is no answer: I give a cry for help, but no one takes up my cause.
8 Ka caehlong he a biing tih ka muk tloel. Ka hawn ah a hmuep a khueh.
My way is walled up by him so that I may not go by: he has made my roads dark.
9 Kai kah thangpomnah te kai dong lamloh a pit tih ka lu dongkah rhuisam khaw a dul.
He has put off my glory from me, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Kai kaepvai lamloh m'palet tih ka pongpa vaengah ka ngaiuepnah he thing bangla a puen.
I am broken down by him on every side, and I am gone; my hope is uprooted like a tree.
11 A thintoek he kai taengah a sai vaengah kai he amah taengah a rhal bangla m'moeh.
His wrath is burning against me, and I am to him as one of his haters.
12 Anih kah caem te rhenten ha pawk uh tih a longpuei te kai m'picai thil uh. Te phoeiah ka dap ah pin rhaeh uh.
His armies come on together, they make their road high against me, and put up their tents round mine.
13 Ka manuca rhoek kai taeng lamloh lakhla coeng tih ka ming rhoek khaw kai lamloh kholong uh coeng.
He has taken my brothers far away from me; they have seen my fate and have become strange to me.
14 Ka yoei uh rhoek loh n'toeng uh tih ka ming uh rhoek loh kai n'hnilh uh coeng.
My relations and my near friends have given me up, and those living in my house have put me out of their minds.
15 Ka im pah neh ka salnu rhoek loh kholong bangla kai m'poek uh. Amih mikhmuh ah kholong hlang la ka om.
I am strange to my women-servants, and seem to them as one from another country.
16 Ka sal te ka khue dae oei pawh. Anih te ka ka neh ka hloep.
At my cry my servant gives me no answer, and I have to make a prayer to him.
17 Ka mueihla he ka yuu taengah a kholong pah tih ka bungko kah ka ca rhoek taengah khaw rhennah ka bih.
My breath is strange to my wife, and I am disgusting to the offspring of my mother's body.
18 Casenca rhoek long pataeng kai he n'hnaep uh tih, ka thoh vaengah kai he n'thui uh coeng.
Even young children have no respect for me; when I get up their backs are turned on me.
19 Ka baecenol dongkah hlang boeih loh kai n'tuei uh tih ka lungnah he kamah taengah poehlip uh.
All the men of my circle keep away from me; and those dear to me are turned against me.
20 Ka vin neh ka saa hil khaw ka rhuh dongla kap tih ka no dongkah nohli neh ka loeih.
My bones are joined to my skin, and I have got away with my flesh in my teeth.
21 Ka hui rhoek nangmih loh kai n'rhen uh, kai n'rhen uh. Pathen kut loh kai he m'ben coeng.
Have pity on me, have pity on me, O my friends! for the hand of God is on me.
22 Balae tih Pathen bangla kai nan hloem uh. Kai saa lamkah khaw na hah uh hae mahpawh.
Why are you cruel to me, like God, for ever saying evil against me?
23 Kai ol a daek uh te unim a paek bal. Cabu dongkah bangla a unim a paek vetih a taem uh ve?
If only my words might be recorded! if they might be put in writing in a book!
24 Thi cacung neh kawnlawk te lungpang dongah a yoeyah la a dae uh.
And with an iron pen and lead be cut into the rock for ever!
25 Kai tah kai aka tlan te hing tih hmailong kah laipi dongah thoo ni tila ka ming.
But I am certain that he who will take up my cause is living, and that in time to come he will take his place on the dust;
26 Ka vin hnukah he hluep uh cakhaw, ka saa dongah Pathen ka hmuh bitni.
And ... without my flesh I will see God;
27 Kai kamah long khaw ka hmuh vetih ka mik long khaw a hmuh pueng ni. Te dongah ka rhang kah ka kuel loh rhalawt te a hue moenih.
Whom I will see on my side, and not as one strange to me. My heart is broken with desire.
28 Ka khuikah ol hnun a hmuh parhi te, “Anih te metlam n'hloem eh?” na ti uh akhaw,
If you say, How cruel we will be to him! because the root of sin is clearly in him:
29 nangmih te cunghang hmai ah bakuep uh laeh. Amah dumlai tah dumlai bangla na ming uh hamla cunghang lamlothaesainah kosi om coeng,” a ti.
Be in fear of the sword, for the sword is the punishment for such things, so that you may be certain that there is a judge.
