< Jeremiah 8 >

1 Te tue vaengkah BOEIPA olphong loh Judah manghai rhoek kah a rhuh neh a mangpa rhoek kah a rhuh, khosoih rhoek kah a rhuh neh tonghma rhoek kah a rhuh khaw, Jerusalem khosa rhoek kah a rhuh te a phuel lamloh a khuen rhoe a khuen uh ni.
At that time, says the Lord, they will take the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his rulers, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem out of their resting-places:
2 Te vaengah khomik neh, hla neh, vaan caempuei boeih taengah a yaal uh ni. Te ni a lungnah uh tih a thothueng thiluh. Te te a hnukah a pongpa uh tih te te a toem uh, a bawk uh. Tedae hloem uh pawt vetih up uh mahpawh diklai hman ah aek bangla om ni.
And they will put them out before the sun and the moon and all the stars of heaven, whose lovers and servants they have been, after whom they have gone, to whom they have made prayers, and to whom they have given worship: they will not be put together or placed in the earth; they will be waste on the face of the earth.
3 Aka coih cako lamkah a meet boeih loh hingnah lakah dueknah te a tuek ni. Hmuen takuem kah boethae neh aka sueng rhoek he ka heh ni. Caempuei BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
And death will be desired more than life by the rest of this evil family who are still living in all the places where I have sent them away, says the Lord of armies.
4 Te phoeiah amih te thui pah. BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. A cungku uh atah thoo uh pawt nim? A mael atah ha mael mahpawt nim?
Further, you are to say to them, This is what the Lord has said: Will those who are falling not be lifted up again? will he who has gone away not come back?
5 Pilnam he balae tih a mael? Jerusalem tah hnuknong la a mawt tih a huep te a ngaitoeih uh dongah ha mael ham a aal uh.
Why do these people of Jerusalem go back, for ever turning away? they will not give up their deceit, they will not come back.
6 Ka hnatung tih ka hnatun a thuem la a thui uh moenih. A saii boeih te balae ti ham khaw a thae dongah dam aka ti hlang a om moenih. A yong a yong doeah caemtloek la aka vikvuek marhang bangla mael.
I took note and gave ear, but no one said what is right: no man had regret for his evil-doing, saying, What have I done? everyone goes off on his way like a horse rushing to the fight.
7 Vaan kah bungrho long khaw a tingtunnah a ming tih vahui neh marhang, marhang neh langloep loh a rhaai tue a ngaithuen. Tedae ka pilnam loh BOEIPA kah laitloeknah te ming uh pawh.
Truly, the stork in the heavens is conscious of her fixed times; the dove and the swallow and the crane keep to the times of their coming; but my people have no knowledge of the law of the Lord.
8 Metlam lae kaimih taengah BOEIPA kah olkhueng om tih ka cueih na ti uh. Tedae cadaek rhoek kah laithae cacung a muk te laithae rhoe la he.
How is it that you say, We are wise and the law of the Lord is with us? But see, the false pen of the scribes has made it false.
9 Aka cueih rhoek te yak uh vetih rhihyawp dongah man uh ni. BOEIPA kah olka a hnawt uh dongah amih ham mebang cueihnah nim aka om te?
The wise men are shamed, they are overcome with fear and taken: see, they have given up the word of the Lord; and what use is their wisdom to them?
10 Te dongah a yuu rhoek te a tloe taengla, a khohmuen te aka pang taengla ka paek tangloeng pawn ni. Tanoe lamloh kangham hil a mueluemnah ham boeih a mueluem. Tonghma lamkah khosoih hil a pum la laithae a saii.
So I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who will take them for themselves: for everyone, from the least to the greatest, is given up to getting money; from the priest even to the prophet, everyone is false.
11 Ka pilnam canu kah pocinah te vapsa la a toi uh. Rhoepnah rhoepnah a ti ham vaengah rhoepnah om pawh.
And they have made little of the wounds of the daughter of Zion, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
12 A yah ham tueilaehkoi la a saii vaengah a yah ham om dae yak pawt tih hmaithae khaw ming uh pawh. Te dongah amih cawhnah tue ah aka cungku lakli ah cungku uh van vetih paloe uh ni. BOEIPA loh a thui coeng.
Let them be put to shame because they have done disgusting things. They had no shame, they were not able to become red with shame: so they will come down with those who are falling: in the time of their punishment they will be made low, says the Lord.
I will put an end to them completely, says the Lord: there are no grapes on the vine and no figs on the fig-tree, and the leaf is dry.
14 Balae tih mamih n'ngol sut. Tingtun uh sih lamtah hmuencak khopuei la ael uh sih. Mamih kah BOEIPA Pathen loh mamih n'kuemsuem sak dongah pahoi kuemsuem uh sih. BOEIPA taengah n'tholh uh dongah sue tui ni mamih n'tul coeng.
Why are we seated doing nothing? come together, and let us go to the walled towns, and let destruction overtake us there, for the Lord our God has sent destruction on us, and given us bitter water for our drink, because we have done evil against the Lord.
15 Sading ham lamtawn dae a then om pawh, hoeihnah tue ham vaengah letnah la poeh he.
We were looking for peace, but no good came; and for a time of well-being, but there is only a great fear.
16 A marhang a phit te Dan lamloh a yaak, a lueng kah a kawk ol ah diklai tom hinghuen. Ha pawk uh vaengah khohmuen neh a khopuei boeih, a khuikah khosa boeih te a yoop.
The loud breathing of the horses comes to our ears from Dan: at the sound of the outcry of his war-horses, all the land is shaking with fear; for they have come, and have made a meal of the land and everything in it; the town and the people living in it.
17 Rhulthae rhul te nangmih taengah kan tueih coeng he. Te rhoek te calthai nen khaw a coeng pawt dongah nangmih n'tuk ni. BOEIPA kah olphong ni he.
See, I will send snakes and poison-snakes among you, against which the wonder-worker has no power; and they will give you wounds which may not be made well, says the Lord.
18 Ka mongnah khaw ka khuikah kothaenah dongah ka lungbuei tah hal coeng.
Sorrow has come on me! my heart in me is feeble.
19 khohla bangsang kho lamkah ka pilnam nu kah a pang ol la ke. Zion ah BOEIPA a om moenih a? A manghai khaw a khuiah a om moenih a? Balae tih kholong kah a mueidaep neh a honghi la kai m'veet uh.
The voice of the cry of the daughter of my people comes from a far land: Is the Lord not in Zion? is not her King in her? Why have they made me angry with their images and their strange gods which are no gods?
20 Cangah a poeng tih khohal khaw bawt coeng dae mamih tah n'khang moenih.
The grain-cutting is past, the summer is ended, and no salvation has come to us.
21 Ka pilnam nu pocinah dongah kopang neh ka paep tih imsuep bangla kai n'kolek.
For the destruction of the daughter of my people I am broken: I am dressed in the clothing of grief; fear has taken me in its grip.
22 Gilead ah thingpi a om moenih a? Te ah te aka hoeih sak khaw om tangloeng pawh. Balae tih ka pilnam nu kah sadingnah loh ha pawk pawh.
Is there no life-giving oil in Gilead? is there no expert in medical arts? why then have my people not been made well?
