< Jeremiah 6 >
1 Jerusalem khui lamkah Benjamin ca rhoek bakuep uh. Tekoa ah tuki ueng uh lamtah Bethhakkerem ah cangpaiso tong saeh. Yoethaenah neh pocinah tanglue te tlangpuei lamkah ha moe coeng.
“Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the middle of Jerusalem! Blow the trumpet in Tekoa and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem, for evil looks out from the north with a great destruction.
2 Rhoeprhui neh a pang aka dok Zion nu khaw ka hmata sak ni.
I will cut off the beautiful and delicate one, the daughter of Zion.
3 Boiva aka dawn rhoek te a tuping neh ha pawk uh ni. Dap a tuk thil uh vetih a kut dongkah hlang tah a kaepvai ah luem uh ni.
Shepherds with their flocks will come to her. They will pitch their tents against her all around. They will feed everyone in his place.”
4 A taengah hoep uh laeh, caemtloek la thoo uh laeh. Khothun ah khaw cet uh sih. Anunae, mamih ham tah khothaih loh kaeng uh coeng tih hlaemhmah khokhawn khaw puh coeng.
“Prepare war against her! Arise! Let’s go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day declines, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
5 Thoo uh khoyin ah cet uh sih lamtah a impuei rhoek phae uh sih.
Arise! Let’s go up by night, and let’s destroy her palaces.”
6 Te dongah Caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Thing rholong te saih uh lamtah Jerusalem te tanglung khueng thil uh. Khopuei he cawh saeh, a boeih la a khui ah hnaemtaeknah ni aka om.
For the LORD of Armies said, “Cut down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem. This is the city to be visited. She is filled with oppression within herself.
7 Tuito ah tuito tui a phuet bangla a boethae khaw phuet tangkhuet. Kuthlahnah neh rhoelrhanah loh a khuiah ya uh rhoi tih ka mikhmuh ah tlohtat neh hmasoe neh om taitu.
As a well produces its waters, so she produces her wickedness. Violence and destruction is heard in her. Sickness and wounds are continually before me.
8 Jerusalem nang n'thuituen coeng. Ka hinglu he nang lamloh a hoeng uh ve ne. Nang te khohmuen khopong neh khosa a om pawt la kang khueh ve.
Be instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you, lest I make you a desolation, an uninhabited land.”
9 Tangkhuet la caempuei BOEIPA loh, “Israel kah a meet te misur bangla poelyoe khaw poelyoe mai saeh. Thaihbom aka yun bangla na kut thuung laeh.
The LORD of Armies says, “They will thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine. Turn again your hand as a grape gatherer into the baskets.”
10 U taengah nim ka thui vetih ka hih daengah a yaak uh eh? Amih hna ngun rhoek loh a hnatung ham a coeng uh moenih ke. BOEIPA ol he amih taengah om dae ta kokhahnah bangla a khuiah naem uh pawh.
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, the LORD’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
11 Tedae BOEIPA kah kosi he ka hah coeng tih cangbam ham ka ngak coeng. Tollong kah camoe soah lun laeh. Tongpang rhoek kah baecenol dongah a yuu neh va khaw, patong neh khohnin aka cup te khaw rhenten a tuuk ni.
Therefore I am full of the LORD’s wrath. I am weary with holding it in. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife will be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.
12 A im lo neh a yuu rhoek te a tloe taengla rhenten a mael pah ni. Diklai khosa rhoek te ka kut ka thueng thil coeng. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
Their houses will be turned to others, their fields and their wives together; for I will stretch out my hand on the inhabitants of the land, says the LORD.”
13 Amih te tanoe lamloh kangham due mueluemnah neh boeih a mueluem. Tonghma neh khosoih te khaw a honghi aka saii kak ni.
“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness. From the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.
14 Ka pilnam kah pocinah aka hoeih sak long khaw vapsa la sadingnah sadingnah a ti tih sadingnah om pawh.
They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.
15 Tueilaehkoi la a saii uh te yak uh nim. Yak khaw yak uh pawt tih hmaithae khaw ming uh pawh. Te dongah amih ka cawh hnin ah tah aka cungku te a cungku thil uh vetih paloe uh ni. He tah BOEIPA long ni a thui.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they will fall amongst those who fall. When I visit them, they will be cast down,” says the LORD.
16 BOEIPA loh, “Longpuei ah pai lamtah hmu van lah. Khosuen kah a hawn te menim dawt lah. Te longpuei then ah pongpa lamtah na hinglu ham duemnah hmu lah,” a ti lalah, “Ka pongpa uh mahpawh,” a ti uh.
The LORD says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
17 “Nang soah rhaltawt la ka pai sak coeng, tuki ol te hnatung uh,” a ti lalah, “Ka hnatung uh mahpawh,” a ti uh.
I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’
18 Te dongah namtom rhoek loh ya lamtah amih taengkah laipai te khaw ming lah.
Therefore hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is amongst them.
19 Diklai long khaw ya laeh. Amamih kopoek kah a thaih te he pilnam soah kai loh yoethae la ka thoeng sak coeng he. Ka ol he hnatung uh pawt tih ka olkhueng khaw a hnawt uh.
Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
20 Sheba lamkah aka thoeng hmueihtui, khohla bangsang kho kah cup then te kai ham ba lam lae a om? Nangmih kah hmueihhlutnah dongah kolonah khaw om pawt tih nangmih kah hmueih te kai taengah a tui moenih.
To what purpose does frankincense from Sheba come to me, and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
21 Te dongah BOEIPA loh, “He pilnam taengah kai loh hmuitoel ka khueh pah. A soah ah paloe vetih a napa rhoek neh a ca rhoek khaw, imben neh a hui khaw milh rhoela rhenten milh uh ni,” a ti.
Therefore the LORD says, “Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together will stumble against them. The neighbour and his friend will perish.”
22 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Tlangpuei kho lamkah pilnam ha pawk he, diklai tlanghlaep lamkah namtom pilnu haenghang coeng.
The LORD says, “Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation will be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
23 A muenying muenyang la lii neh soe a muk uh tih a haidam khaw khueh uh pawh. A ol mah tuitunli bangla kawk. Zion nu nang taengah caemtloek hlang bangla marhang dongah ngol tih rhong a pai coeng.
They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”
24 A thang n'yaak uh vaengah mamih kut kha coeng. Citcai loh ca-om bungtloh bangla mamih ng'kolek.
We have heard its report. Our hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labour.
25 Lohma la mop rhoe mop boeh. Longpuei ah khaw cet rhoe cet boeh. Thunkha kah cunghang kaepvai ah rhihnah la om.
Don’t go out into the field or walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror are on every side.
26 Ka pilnam tanu loh tlamhni bai lamtah hmaiphu dongah bol laeh. Oingaih cangloeng kah nguekcoinah te namah ham saii laeh. Mamih soah aka rhoelrhak loh buengrhuet ha pai dongah rhaengsaelung neh kosi ngawn dung coeng.
Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer will suddenly come on us.
27 Ka pilnam ham lungnoek la nang kang khueh. Te daengah ni hmuencak te na ming vetih amih kah longpuei te na loepdak eh.
“I have made you a tester of metals and a fortress amongst my people, that you may know and try their way.
28 Amih boeih te thinthah neh taengphael uh tih caemtuh neh pongpa uh. Amih rhohum neh thicung he khaw boeih muei.
They are all grievous rebels, going around to slander. They are bronze and iron. All of them deal corruptly.
29 Hmaiphawt khaw amamih kah hmai dongah tlum coeng tih kawnlawk khaw hmai dongah hma coeng. A poeyoek la a cil a cil uh tih a boethae tah cing hae pawh.
The bellows blow fiercely. The lead is consumed in the fire. In vain they go on refining, for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 BOEIPA loh amih te a hnawt coeng dongah amih te cak hnawt la a khue uh.
Men will call them rejected silver, because the LORD has rejected them.”
