< Jeremiah 41 >
1 A hla rhih dongla a pha vaengah mangpa tiingan lamkah Elishama koca Nethaniah capa Ishmael neh manghai kah mangpa rhoek neh a taengkah hlang parha he Mizpah kah Ahikam capa Gedaliah taengla ha pawk tih Mizpah ah thikat la buh pahoi a caak uh.
And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah son of Elishama of the seed royal and chiefs of the king, and ten men with him, came in, unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, at Mizpah, —and they did there eat bread together in Mizpah.
2 Te phoeiah Nethaniah capa Ishmael neh a taengkah aka om hlang parha te thoo uh tih Shaphan koca Ahikam capa Gedaliah te cunghang neh a tloek uh tih amah la a duek sakuh. Anih ni Babylon manghai loh khohmuen kah ham a khueh dae.
Then arose Ishmael son of Nethaniah—and the ten men who were with him and they smote Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan—with the sword and slew him whom the king of Babylon had set in charge, over the land.
3 Mizpah kah Gedaliah taengah aka om Judah boeih neh Khalden kah caemtloek hlang a hmuh rhoek te tah Ishmael loh a ngawn.
And Ishmael smote, all the Jews who were with him even with Gedaliah in Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there the men of war.
4 Gedaliah a duek te khohnin pabae dongla a pha duela hlang loh a ming moenih.
And it came to pass, on the second day, after he had slain Gedaliah, not, a man, knowing it,
5 Te dongah Shekhem lamkah, Shiloh lamkah, Samaria lamkah khaw hlang rhoek te ha pawk uh. Hlang sawmrhet loh hmuimul a vok tih himbai pawn neh a saa a hlap doela a kut dongkah khocang neh hmueihtui te BOEIPA im la a khuen uh.
that men came in from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, —eighty men, with beards shaven and clothes rent who also had cut themselves, with a meal-offering and frankincense in their hand, to bring them into the house of Yahweh.
6 Amih aka doe la Nethaniah capa Ishmael te Mizpah lamloh cet. A caeh a caeh vaengah tah aka rhap khaw ana om tih amih te a hum uh vaengah tah amih te, “Ahikam capa Gedaliah taengla ha mop uh laeh,” a ti nah.
Then went forth Ishmael son of Nethaniah to meet them out of Mizpah, weeping all along as he went, —and it came to pass when he fell in with them, that he said unto them, Come ye in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam.
7 Amih te khopuei khui la a pawk vaengah tah Nethaniah capa Ishmael neh a taengkah hlang rhoek loh tangrhom khui la a ngawn uh.
And so it was when they had come into the midst of the city, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah slew them and cast them into the midst of a pit, he and the men who were with him.
8 Tedae amih khuikah hlang parha loh a hmuh vaengah Ishmael te, “Kaimih he n'duek sak boeh, kamamih taengah khohmuen kah kawn la cang neh cangtun khaw, situi neh khoitui khaw om pueng,” a ti na uh. Te dongah a toeng tih a manuca lakli ah amih te duek sak pawh.
But, ten men, were found among them, who said unto Ishmael—Do not put us to death, for we have secret treasures in the field, wheat and barley and oil and honey, So he forbare and put them not to death in the midst of their brethren.
9 Gedaliah kut dongkah a ngawn hlang rhok boeih te Ishmael loh tangrhom khuila pahoi a voeih. Tekah te Israel manghai Baasha maelhmai kongah ni manghai Asa loh a saii dae Nethaniah capa Ishmael loh rhok a hah sak.
Now the pit whereinto Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had smitten, was a large pit which King Asa had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel, —the same, did Ishmael son of Nethaniah fill with the slain,
10 Mizpah kah pilnam kah a meet boeih, imtawt boeiping Nebuzaradan loh Ahikam capa Gedaliah a hip sak manghai canu rhoek khaw, Mizpah ah aka sueng pilnam boeih khaw Ishmael loh a sol. Amih te a sol phoeiah Nethaniah capa Ishmael te cet tih Ammon koca rhoek te a paan.
Then did Ishmael take captive all the remnant of the people that was in Mizpah, —the daughters of the king, and all the people that were left remaining in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners had committed unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, —yea Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive, and departed to pass over unto the sons of Ammon.
11 Nethaniah capa Ishmael loh boethae a saii boeih te Kareah capa Johanan neh a taengkah caem mangpa rhoek loh boeih a yaak.
But when Johanan son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him heard of all the wickedness which Ishmael son of Nethaniah had done,
12 Te dongah hlang te boeih a khuen tih Nethaniah capa Ishmael vathoh thil hamla cet uh. Te vaengah anih te Gibeon kah tui puei taengah a hmuh uh.
then took they all the men, and went their way to fight with Ishmael son of Nethaniah, —and found him near the many waters which were in Gibeon.
13 Ishmael taengkah pilnam boeih loh Kareah capa Johanan neh a taengkah caem mangpa boeih te a hmuh uh vaengah a kohoe uh.
And it came to pass, when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then were they glad.
14 Mizpah ah Ishmael kah a sol pilnam khaw boeih cet uh. Tedae a mael uh vaengah tah Kareah capa Johanan taengla mael uh.
So all the people whom Ishmael had carried away captive out of Mizpah, compassed about, and returned and went their way unto Johanan son of Kareah.
15 Te vaengah Nethaniah capa Ishmael tah hlang parhet neh Johanan mikhmuh lamloh vi uh tih Ammon koca rhoek taengla cet.
But, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, escaped with eight men, from the face of Johanan, —and departed unto the sons of Ammon.
16 Kareah capa Johanan neh amah taengkah caem mangpa boeih loh Nethaniah capa Ishmael taengkah pilnam a meet boeih te Mizpah lamkah a loh. Ahikam capa Gedaliah a ngawn phoeiah tah hlang he caemtloek tongpa rhoek khaw, huta camoe khaw, imkhoem rhoek khaw Gibeon lamloh a mael puei.
Then did Johanan son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him take all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael son of Nethaniah out of Mizpah, after he had smitten Gedaliah son of Ahikam, —mighty men, men of war, and women and children and eunuchs, whom he had recovered out of Gibeon;
17 A caeh uh vaengah Egypt la aka pawk te paan ham Bethlehem kaep Khimham kah Khimham imhmuen ah kho a sak uh.
and they departed, and dwelt in the khan of Chimham, which is near Bethlehem, —that they might go to enter Egypt;
18 Babylon manghai loh khohmuen a hung sak Ahikam capa Gedaliah te Nethaniah capa Ishmael loh a ngawn dongah a mikhmuh kah Khalden rhoek te khaw a rhih uh.
because of the Chaldeans, for they were afraid of them, —because Ishmael son of Nethaniah had smitten Gedaliah son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had set in charge over the land.
