< Jeremiah 24 >
1 Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar loh Judah manghai Jehoiakim capa Jekoniah neh Judah mangpa rhoek te a poelyoe tih Jerusalem lamkah kutthai neh thidae te Babylon la a khuen phoeiah BOEIPA bawkim hmai kah voh rhoi dongah thaibu thaih a khueh te BOEIPA loh kai tarha n'tueng.
Yahweh shewed me, and lo! two baskets of figs, which had been set before the temple of Yahweh, —after that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive, Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and the princes of Judah and the carpenters and the smiths out of Jerusalem, and had brought them into Babylon: —
2 Voh khat dongkah thaibu thaih tah thaibu thaihloe bangla bahoeng then. Voh pakhat dongkah thaibu thaih tah a thaenah khui lamloh caak pawt ham hil bahoeng thae.
the one basket, was of very good figs, like the first-ripe figs; and, the other basket, was of very bad figs, which could not be eaten for badness.
3 Te vaengah BOEIPA loh kai taengah, “Jeremiah balae na hmuh,” a ti. Te dongah, “Thaibu thaibu rhoe mah aka then tah bahoeng then tih aka thae tah a thae uet ah a thaenah lamloh caak la lo pawh,” ka ti tah.
Then said Yahweh unto me, —What canst thou see, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs: the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, for badness.
4 Te vaengah BOEIPA ol tah kai taengah ha pawk tih,
Then came the word of Yahweh unto me, saying:
5 “He tah Israel Pathen BOEIPA long ni a thui. He kah thaibu then bangla Judah hlangsol te ka hmat van. Te khaw he hmuen lamloh Khalden khohmuen ah a then lam ni ka tueih.
Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Like these good figs, so, will I regard them of Judah who are carried into captivity, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, for good.
6 Ka mik he amih soah a then la ka khueh vetih amih te he khohmuen la ka mael sak ni. Amih te ka thoh vetih ka koengloeng mahpawh. Amih te ka phung vetih ka phuk mahpawh.
Therefore will I set mine eye upon them for good, and will bring them back upon this land, —and will build them up, and not pull them down, and will plant them and not root them up;
7 Kai kamah he BOEIPA ni tila ming sak ham lungbuei te amih taengah ka paek ni. Te vaengah kamah kah pilnam la om uh vetih kai khaw amih kah Pathen la ka om van ni. A lungbuei boeih neh kai taengla ha mael uh mak atah,” a ti.
and will give them a heart to know, me, that, I, am Yahweh, So shall they become my people, And, I, will become their God; for they will return unto me with all their heart.
8 Tedae thaibu aka thae bangla a thaenah lamloh a caak thai pawt te BOEIPA loh, “Judah manghai Zedekiah neh a mangpa rhoek taengah khaw, he khohmuen ah aka sueng Jerusalem kah a meet rhoek taengah khaw, Egypt kho kah khosa rhoek taengah khaw ka khueh van ni.
And like the bad figs, which cannot be eaten for badness, Surely thus, saith Yahweh—so, will I deliver up Zedekiah king of Judah, and his princes and the remnant of Jerusalem that remain in this land, and them who are dwelling in the land of Egypt;
yea I will deliver them up, as a terror of calamity, to all the kingdoms of the earth, —as a reproach and as a byword, as a mockery and as a contempt, in every place whither I will drive them;
10 Amamih taeng neh a napa rhoek taengah ka paek khohmuen dong lamloh a cing uh duela amih taengah cunghang, khokha neh duektahaw te ka tueih pah ni.
and I will send among them, sword famine and pestilence, —until they are consumed from off the soil which I gave to them and to their fathers.
