< Jeremiah 23 >
1 Anunae ka rhamtlim kah boiva a dawn vaengah aka milh sak tih aka taekyak aih te, he tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the LORD.
2 Te dongah Israel Pathen BOEIPA loh he ni a thui.
Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.
“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.
Te vaengah rhih uh voel pawt vetih, rhihyawp uh pawt vetih hal uh mahpawh. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.
5 BOEIPA kah olphong khohnin ha pawk coeng ke. Te vaengah thingdawn dueng te David ham ka thoh pah tih manghai la manghai pawn ni. Te dongah tiktamnah neh duengnah te diklai ah a saii vetih a cangbam ni.
“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.
7 Te dongah BOEIPA kah olphong hnin tah ha pawk coeng ke. Te vaengah Egypt kho lamloh Israel ca aka khuen hingnah BOEIPA te koep thui uh mahpawh.
“Therefore, behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that they will no more say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
8 Tedae hingnah BOEIPA amah lat loh Israel imkhui kah tiingan te tlangpuei kho lamkah neh diklai pum lamloh hang khuen tih ham pawk puei. Te ah te amih heh mai cakhaw amamih khohmuen ah kho a sak uh ni.
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and who led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will dwell in their own land.”
9 Tonghma kawng dongah, Ka kotak khuikah ka lungbuei paeng coeng. Ka rhuh he boeih hlinghlawk tih yurhui hlang bangla ka om. BOEIPA kah mikhmuh neh amah kah ol cim hmai ah misurtui loh a puem hlang bangla tui ka yuka.
Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken. All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of his holy words.
10 Diklai he samphaih neh hah coeng tih thaephoeinah hmai ah ni diklai he a nguekcoi uh. Khosoek toitlim ngawn koh coeng tih a yongnah khaw yoethae la a poeh pah dongah a thayung thamal om tangloeng pawh.
“For the land is full of adulterers; for because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
11 Tonghma neh khosoih khaw poeih uh coeng tih ka im khuiah pataeng amih kah boethae ka hmuh.
for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.
Therefore their way will be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They will be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.
13 Samaria tonghma rhoek taengah khaw a hohap ni ka hmuh. Baal rhangneh tonghma uh tih ka pilnam Israel te khohmang la a khueh uh.
“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14 Jerusalem tonghma rhoek taengah khaw a samphaih rhih om te ka hmuh. A honghi neh pongpa uh tih thaehuet ham kut a hluem uh. Hlang he a boethae lamloh a mael uh pawt dongah kai taengah tah amamih te Sodom bangla, a khuikah khosa rhoek khaw Gomorrah bangla boeih om uh coeng.
In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”
15 Te dongah caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Amih tonghma rhoek te pantong ni ka cah coeng he. Jerusalem tonghma taeng lamloh diklai pum ah a rhonging a coe dongah amih te anrhat tui ni ka tul eh.
Therefore the LORD of Hosts says concerning the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16 Caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Nangmih taengah aka tonghma, tonghma rhoek ol te hnatun uh boeh. Amih te amamih lungbuei kah mangthui neh nangmih taengah hoemdawk uh tih BOEIPA kah ka lamloh aka thoeng te a thui uh moenih.
The LORD of Hosts says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17 Kai yahbai ham aka thui la aka thui nangmih taengah, ‘BOEIPA ngaimongnah om saeh,’ a ti lahko. Te dongah nim a lungbuei kah thinthahnah dongah aka pongpa boeih loh, ‘Nangmih taengah yoethae ha pawk mahpawh,” a ti uh.
They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’
18 Tedae BOEIPA kah baecenol dongah pai tih aka hmu coeng neh a ol aka ya te unim? A ol te a ol bangla aka hnatung tih aka ya te unim?
For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?
Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.
20 Anih loh a saii tih a lungbuei kah thuepnah a thoh duela BOEIPA kah thintoek tah mael mahpawh.
The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.
21 Tonghma rhoek te ka tueih pawt dae amamih yong uh. Amih te ka uen pawt dae amamih tonghma uh.
I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22 Tedae kai kah baecenol dongah pai uh tih ka pilnam te kai ol yaak sak uh koinih a longpuei thae neh a khoboe thaenah lamloh amih mael uh ni.
But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23 He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Kai neh a yoei kah Pathen la om tih a hla ah tah a Pathen moenih a?
“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
24 Hlang he a huephael ah thuh uh cakhaw kai loh anih te ka hmuh moenih a? He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Vaan neh diklai he ka tluek moenih a? He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.
25 Tonghma rhoek loh kai ming neh ka tonghma a ti uh tih a laithae neh mang ka maan rhoe ka maan coeng a ti uh te ka yaak.
“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
26 Me hil nim laithae la aka tonghma tonghma rhoek neh a lungbuei aka huep tonghma rhoek kah lungbuei khuiah a koe aih ve.
How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
27 A mang dongah ni ka pilnam loh ka ming he hnilh ham a moeh uh. A napa rhoek loh Baal kongah kai ming a hnilh uh vanbangla hlang loh a hui taengah ana thui te.
They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.
28 Amah taengah mueimang aka om tonghma te tah a mueimang khaw thui saeh. Tedae a taengah kai ol aka dang long tah ka ol oltak he thui saeh. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni, cangpai neh cangkong te metlam a vai uh eh?
The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says the LORD.
29 He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni. Ka ol he hmai bangla, thaelpang aka taekyak kilung bangla a om moenih a?
“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni.
“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
31 He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
32 He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni. A honghi kah mang neh aka tonghma rhoek khaw ka pai thil coeng ne. A thui uh vaengah ka pilnam he a honghi neh, a hohap neh khohmang la a khueh uh. Tedae amih te ka tueih pawt tih amih ka uen van pawt dongah a hoeikhang ham akhaw pilnam ham a hoeikhang moenih. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni.
Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
33 He pilnam long khaw, tonghma long khaw, khosoih long khaw nang n'dawt atah BOEIPA kah olrhuh te thui pah. Te vaengah amih taengah nangmih kam phap ham olrhuh te amih taengah thui pah. He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni.
“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’
34 Te dongah tonghma khaw, khosoih khaw, pilnam khaw BOEIPA kah olrhuh aka phoei tah tekah hlang te khaw a im te ka cawh pah ni.
As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
35 BOEIPA loh metla a doo tih BOEIPA loh metla a voek khaw hlang neh a hui taengah khaw hlang neh a manuca taengah khaw thui pah tangloeng.
You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’
36 A ol he hlang taengah olrhuh la om dae BOEIPA kah olrhuh te koep na poek uh moenih. Te dongah ni caempuei BOEIPA mamih kah Pathen, hingnah Pathen kah ol he na maelh uh.
You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Hosts, our God.
37 BOEIPA loh nang metla n'doo tih BOEIPA loh metla m'voek khaw tonghma taengah thui pah van.
You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
38 BOEIPA kah olrhuh na ti van atah BOEIPA loh a thui he thui van tangloeng. He ol he BOEIPA kah olrhuh la na thui.
Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”
therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off with the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence.
40 Kumhal kah kokhahnah neh kumhal kah yahpohnah te nangmih soah kang khueh vetih hnilh tlaih mahpawh.
I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.’”
