< Jeremiah 22 >

1 He ni BOEIPA loh a thui. Judah manghai im ah cet lamtah he ol he pahoi thui pah.
The LORD said, “Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak this word there:
2 Te vaengah, “David ngolkhoel ah aka ngol Judah manghai nang neh, na sal rhoek, he vongka longah aka pawk na pilnam loh BOEIPA ol hnatun uh,’ ti nah.
‘Hear the LORD’s word, king of Judah, who sits on David’s throne—you, your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates.
3 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Tiktamnah neh duengnah te saii lamtah haemtaekkung kut lamkah a rheth rhoek te huul laeh. Yinlai cadah neh nuhmai te vuelvaek boel lamtah huet boeh. He hmuen ah ommongsitoe thii te long sak boeh.
The LORD says: “Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.
4 He kah ol he na vai rhoe na vai van daengah ni David kah a ngolkhoel dongah aka ngol manghai rhoek khaw, leng dong neh a marhang dongah aka ngol a sal khaw, a sal rhoek neh a pilnam khaw he im vongka lamloh a pongpa eh.
For if you do this thing indeed, then kings sitting on David’s throne will enter in by the gates of this house, riding in chariots and on horses—they, their servants, and their people.
5 Tedae he ol he na ngai pawt atah kamah loh BOEIPA kah olphong neh ka toemngam coeng dongah he im he imrhong la poeh ni.
But if you will not hear these words, I swear by myself,” says the LORD, “that this house will become a desolation.”’”
6 Te dongah BOEIPA loh Gilead kah Judah manghai im te a thui.
For the LORD says concerning the house of the king of Judah: “You are Gilead to me, the head of Lebanon. Yet surely I will make you a wilderness, cities which are not inhabited.
7 Nang te hlang kutyook la kang hoep vetih a hnopai neh na lamphai thinghloe te a vung phoeiah hmai khuila a voeih ni.
I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons, and they will cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire.
8 He khopuei te namtom loh muep a poeng vaengah hlang loh a hui taengah, “Balae tih BOEIPA loh he khopuei tanglue taengah he he a saii?” a ti uh ni.
“Many nations will pass by this city, and they will each ask his neighbour, ‘Why has the LORD done this to this great city?’
9 Te vaengah, “A Pathen BOEIPA kah paipi te a hnoo uh tih pathen tloe te a bawk uh, amih taengla tho a thueng uh dongah,” a ti uh ni.
Then they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned the covenant of the LORD their God, worshipped other gods, and served them.’”
10 Aka duek ham te rhap uh boel lamtah anih te suem uh boeh. Aka cet ham te rhap lammah rhap uh. Koep ha mael hae pawt vetih a pacaboeina kah khohmuen te hmu voel mahpawh.
Don’t weep for the dead. Don’t bemoan him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away, for he will return no more, and not see his native country.
11 He tah a napa Josiah yueng la aka manghai, Judah manghai Josiah capa Shallum kawng ni BOEIPA loh a thui. Anih tah he hmuen lamloh nong coeng tih he la koep ha pawk voel mahpawh.
For the LORD says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.
12 Tedae te hmuen ah anih te a poelyoe uh vetih pahoi duek ni. Te vaengah he khohmuen he hmu voel mahpawh.
But he will die in the place where they have led him captive. He will see this land no more.”
13 Anunae a im aka thoh khaw duengnah nen moenih. Te dongah a imhman khaw tiktamnah neh om pawh. A hui te a hoeihae la thotat tih anih te a bisai pang pae pawh.
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his rooms by injustice; who uses his neighbour’s service without wages, and doesn’t give him his hire;
14 Kamah ham im len ka thoh eh aka ti tih imhman aka hoengpoek sak loh amah ham tah bangbuet te a buet phoeiah lamphai neh a ci tih pangcik neh a koelh.
who says, ‘I will build myself a wide house and spacious rooms,’ and cuts out windows for himself, with a cedar ceiling, and painted with red.
A caak tih a ok moenih a? Duengnah neh tiktamnah a saii dongah maco anih ham a then tangloeng te.
“Should you reign because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
16 Mangdaeng neh khodaeng kah dumlai dongah a laitloek then tangloeng. Te khaw kamah kah mingnah moenih a? He tah BOEIPA kah olphong ni.
He judged the cause of the poor and needy; so then it was well. Wasn’t this to know me?” says the LORD.
But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”
18 Te dongah BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Judah manghai Josiah capa Jehoiakim kawng dongah anih te rhaengsae uh mahpawh. Anunae ka manuca neh anunae ka ngannu aih anih te rhaengsae uh mahpawh. Anunae boeipa neh anunae a mueithennah aih.
Therefore the LORD says concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah: “They won’t lament for him, saying, ‘Ah my brother!’ or, ‘Ah sister!’ They won’t lament for him, saying ‘Ah lord!’ or, ‘Ah his glory!’
19 Jerusalem vongka kah a voel la voeih ham a sol vetih laak kah phuel ah a up ni.
He will be buried with the burial of a donkey, drawn and cast out beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”
20 Lebanon la cet lamtah pang lah. Bashan ah na ol huel lamtah Abarim lamloh pang laeh. Na lungnah boeih khaw khaem uh coeng.
“Go up to Lebanon, and cry out. Lift up your voice in Bashan, and cry from Abarim; for all your lovers have been destroyed.
I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, ‘I will not listen.’ This has been your way from your youth, that you didn’t obey my voice.
The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.
23 Lebanon kah khosa rhoek, lamphai dongah bubuk rhoek, tharhui bungtloh ca om bangla nang soah ha pawk vaengah metlam nim na huei ve.
Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!
“As I live,” says the LORD, “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, I would still pluck you from there.
I would give you into the hand of those who seek your life, and into the hand of them of whom you are afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Kasdim.
I will cast you out with your mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born; and there you will die.
27 Te khohmuen la a hinglu aka khuen rhoek tah mael ham akhaw na mael uh voel mahpawh.
But to the land to which their soul longs to return, there they will not return.”
28 Koniah hlang phop kah a hnaep he patangnah ni nama? Anih ham hnopai khaw a ngaih moenih. Balae tih amah neh a tiingan rhoek khaw a hut vetih ming pawt kho la a voeih eh?
Is this man Coniah a despised broken vessel? Is he a vessel in which no one delights? Why are they cast out, he and his offspring, and cast into a land which they don’t know?
29 Khohmuen, Khohmuen, khohmuen oeh! BOEIPA ol he hnatun laeh.
O earth, earth, earth, hear the LORD’s word!
30 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. He kah hlang he cakol hlang la daek laeh. Amah tue vaengah thaihtak pawt vetih a tiingan lamkah khaw thaihtak mahpawh. David ngolkhoel dongah aka ngol hlang neh Judah khuiah koep aka taemrhai khaw om mahpawh.
The LORD says, “Record this man as childless, a man who will not prosper in his days; for no more will a man of his offspring prosper, sitting on David’s throne and ruling in Judah.”
