Jeremiah 21
1 BOEIPA taeng lamkah ol te Jeremiah taengla ha pawk. Te vaengah manghai Zedekiah loh anih taengla Malkhiah capa Pashur neh khosoih Maaseiah capa Zephaniah te a tueih tih,
The word came to Jeremiah from Yahweh when King Zedekiah sent Pashhur son of Malkijah and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest to him, and they said,
2 “Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar loh Mamih m'vathoh thil coeng dongah BOEIPA te mamih ham dawt pawn saeh. Amah khobaerhambae cungkuem he BOEIPA loh mamih ham a saii khaming, tedae mamih taeng lamloh nong mai saeh,” a ti nah.
“Seek advice from Yahweh on our behalf, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is making war on us. Perhaps Yahweh will do miracles for us, as in times past, and will make him withdraw from us.”
3 Tedae amih te Jeremiah loh, “He he Zedekiah taengah thui pah,” a ti nah.
So Jeremiah said to them, “This is what you must say to Zedekiah,
4 Israel Pathen BOEIPA he ni a thui. Na kut dongkah caemtloek hnopai te nangmih aka vathoh thil Babylon manghai taeng neh vongvoel lamloh vongtung duela nangmih aka dum Khalden taengla ka mael ne. Te dongah amih te he khopuei laklung ah ka kuk ni.
'Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: See, I am about to turn back the instruments of war that are in your hand, with which you are fighting against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are closing you in from outside the walls! For I will gather them in the middle of this city.
5 Nangmih taengah kut ka thueng vetih, ka tlungluen ban neh, thintoek neh, kosi neh, thinhul bat la kan vathoh thil ni.
Then I myself will fight against you with a raised hand and a strong arm, and with wrath, fury, and great anger.
6 He khopuei kah khosa rhoek neh hlang khaw rhamsa khaw ka ngawn vetih duektahaw neh mat duek uh ni.
For I will attack the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast. They will die in a severe plague.
7 Te phoeikah te khaw BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Judah manghai Zedekiah neh a sal rhoek, pilnam neh he khopuei khuiah duektahaw lamloh, cunghang lamloh, khokha lamloh aka sueng te Babylon manghai Nebukhanezar kut dongah, a thunkha kut dongah, a hinglu aka toem kut dongah ka paek ni. Te vaengah amih te cunghang ha neh a ngawn vetih amih te rhen mahpawh, hnaih mahpawh, haidam mahpawh.
After this—this is Yahweh's declaration—Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, the people, and whoever remains in this city after the plague, the sword, and the famine, I will give them all into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their life. Then he will kill them with the edge of the sword. He will not pity them, spare them, or have compassion.'

Then to this people you must say, 'Yahweh says this: See, I am about to place before you the way of life and the way of death.
9 He khopuei khuikah khosa rhoek tah cunghang neh, khokha neh, duektahaw neh duek ni. Tedae aka coe tih nangmih aka dum Khalden taengah aka kuep tah hing rhoe hing vetih a hinglu te amah taengah kutbuem bangla a khueh ni.
Anyone staying in this city will die by the sword, famine, and plague; but anyone going out and falling on his knees before the Chaldeans who have closed in against you will live. He will escape with his life.
10 A then ham pawt tih a thae ham ni he khopuei soah ka maelhmai ka khueh he BOEIPA kah olphong ni. Babylon manghai kut dongah a tloeng vetih hmai neh a hoeh ni.
For I have set my face against this city in order to bring disaster and not to bring good—this is Yahweh's declaration. It has been given into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will burn it.'
11 Judah manghai imkhui te khaw BOEIPA ol hnatun uh.
Concerning the house of the king of Judah, listen to the word of Yahweh.
12 David imkhui aw, BOEIPA loh he ni a thui. Mincang ah a tiktamnah neh laitloek. Hnaemtaek kut loh a reth te huul laeh. Ka kosi he hmai bangla puek vetih n'hlawp ve. Na khoboe kah khoboe thaenah dongah thi pawt ve.
House of David, Yahweh says, 'Bring about justice in the morning. Rescue the one who has been robbed by the hand of the oppressor, or my fury will go out like fire and burn, and there is no one who can quench it, because of your evil deeds.
13 He tah BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni. ‘Unim mamih ka et vetih unim mamih kah khodun la aka pawk eh?’ aka ti rhoek, tlangkol lungpang kol kah khosa nangmih te kam pai thil coeng he.
See, inhabitant of the valley! I am against you, rock of the plain—this is Yahweh's declaration— I am against anyone who is saying, “Who will come down to attack us?” or “Who will enter our houses?”
14 He tah BOEIPA olphong ni. Na khoboe thaihtae bangla nangmih te kan cawh ni. A duup ah hmai ka hlup vetih a kaepvai boeih te boeih a hlawp ni.
I have assigned the fruit of your practices to come against you—this is Yahweh's declaration— and I will light a fire in the thickets, and it will consume everything around it.'”
