Jeremiah 19
1 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Cet lamtah amsai kah tuitang paikaek ke lai laeh. Te phoeiah pilnam patong rhoek taeng lamloh, khosoih patong rhoek taeng lamloh khuen phai.
Thus said Yahweh, Go and buy a potter’s earthen bottle, —and take of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;
2 Kolrhawk kah vongka thohka la paan lamtah nang taengah kan thui ol he ambohhmuen, ambohhmuen ah doek laeh.
Then shalt thou go forth into the valley of Ben-hinnom, which is at the opening of the gate of potsherds; and proclaim there the words which I shall speak unto thee;
3 Te vaengah, “Judah manghai rhoek neh Jerusalem khosa rhoek aw, BOEIPA ol he hnatun uh,” ti nah. Israel Pathen caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. He hmuen ah kai loh yoethae kang khuen coeng he. Te te aka ya boeih tah a hna umya uh bitni.
and shalt say, —Hear ye the word of Yahweh, O kings of Judah And inhabitants of Jerusalem, —Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—God of Israel Behold me! bringing in calamity upon this place, which shall cause the ears of every one that heareth it, to tingle:
4 He hmuen ah kai n'hnoo uh vaengah mah loha uh coeng. Te dongah a napa rhoek neh amamih long khaw, Judah manghai rhoek long khaw a ming pawh pathen tloe rhoek taengah hmueih a phum uh. Te dongah he hmuen he ommongsitoe thii neh a cung sakuh.
Because they have forsaken me, And have treated this as a foreign place, And have burned incense therein to other gods, which neither they, nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah, have known; And have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
5 A ca rhoek te Baal taengah hmueihhlutnah hmai neh hoeh ham Baal kah hmuensang te a thoh uh. Te tlam te ka uen pawt tih ka thui bal moenih. Te dongah ka ko a paan moenih.
And have built the high places of Baal for burning up their sons in the fire as ascending-sacrifices to Baal, —Which I commanded not, Nor spake, Neither came it up on my heart,
6 Te dongah BOEIPA kah olphong hnin ha pawk coeng ke. Te vaengah he hmuen he Topheth kolrhawk ti voel pawt vetih ngawnnah kolrhawk lat a ti ni.
Therefore, lo! days coming, Declareth Yahweh, When this place shall be called no longer The Topheth, or The Valley of Ben-hinnom, —but—The Valley of Slaughter;
7 Judah neh he Jerusalem hmuen kah cilsuep te ka hlap pah vetih a thunkha mikhmuh kah cunghang neh a hinglu aka toem rhoek kut dongah ka cungku sak ni. Te vaengah a rhok te vaan kah vaa taeng neh diklai rhamsa taengah maeh la ka paek ni.
And I will pour out the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place, And I will cause them to fall by the sword, before their enemies, and by the hand of them who seek their life, —
8 He khopuei he imsuep la, te long aka pah boeih kah a thuithetnah la ka khueh ni. A hmasoe cungkuem soah hal vetih kut a khong ni.
And I will give their dead bodies for food, to the bird of the heavens and to the beast of the earth; And I will make this city a desolation and a hissing, —every one that passeth by it, shall be astonished and hiss over all her wounds;
9 A capa saa neh a canu rhoek saa te amamih ka cah ni. Hlang loh a hui kah a saa vongup khuiah a caak ni. Amih te a thunkha rhoek neh a hinglu aka tlap rhoek loh a caeknah ah a kilh ni.
And I will suffer them to eat the flesh of their sons, and the flesh of their daughters, yea every one—the flesh of his friend, will they eat, —in the siege and in the straitness, wherewith, their enemies, and they who seek their lives, will straiten them.
10 Te vaengah na taengkah aka cet hlang rhoek mikhmuh ah tuitang te dae pah.
Then shalt thou break the bottle, before the eyes of the men who are walking with thee;
11 Te phoeiah amih te, “Caempuei BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui,” ti nah. Amsai kah umam a dae bangla he pilnam neh he khopuei he ka dae van ni. Te vaengah koep ben ham coeng pawt vetih up ham hmuen om pawt hil Topheth ah a up uh bitni.
and shalt say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—Thus and thus, will I break this people, and this city, As one breaketh the vessel of a potter, which cannot be made whole any more, —And in Topheth, shall they bury, for want of place to bury.
12 He hmuen taengah ka saii tangloeng ni. A khuikah khosa taeng neh he khopuei he Topheth bangla saii ham he BOEIPA kah olphong coeng ni.
Thus, will I do to this place Declareth Yahweh, And to the inhabitants thereof, —Even making this city like Topheth:
13 Jerusalem kah im rhoek neh Judah manghai imkhui khaw, im cungkuem taengah rhalawt la aka om Topheth hmuen bangla om ni. A imphu ah vaan caempuei cungkuem ham a phum uh tih pathen tloe rhoek taengah tuisi a doeng uh.
Yea, the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall like the place of Topheth, be places defiled, —even all the houses upon whose roofs they burned incense to all the host of the heavens, and poured out drink-offerings to other gods.
14 Te phoeiah tah Jeremiah khaw Topheth lamloh mael. Te ah te tonghma sak ham ni BOEIPA loh anih te a tueih. BOEIPA im kah vongtung ah pai tih pilnam boeih taengah a thui.
Then entered Jeremiah out of Topheth, whither Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, —and stood in the court of the house of Yahweh, and said unto all the people:
15 He tah Israel Pathen caempuei BOEIPA long ni a thui. Kamah loh he khopuei so neh a khopuei boeih soah yoethae cungkuem te ka khuen rhoe ka khuen pah coeng he. Te te a taengah ka thui pah lalah khaw a rhawn a mangkhak sak uh tih ka ol he hnatun uh pawh.
Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Behold me! brining in against this city, and upon all the cities thereof, The whole calamity which I have pronounced against her, —Because they stiffened their neck, that they might not hear my words.
