< Isaiah 53 >
1 Mamih kah olthang aka tangnah te unim? BOEIPA kah a ban u taengah nim a phoe.
Who has believed what they heard from us, and to whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?
2 Tedae a mikhmuh ah cahni banglam khaw rhamrhae diklai lamkah thing yung bangla rhoeng. Anih te a suisak om pawt tih rhuepomnah om pawh. Anih te m'hmuh vaengah a mueimae a om pawt dongah nim anih te n'nai uh eh.
For he grew up before Yahweh like a sapling, and like a sprout out of parched earth; he had no remarkable appearance or splendor; when we saw him, there was no beauty to attract us.
3 A hnaep uh tih hlang kah a hnawt a khoe la poeh. Nganboh aka yook hlang neh tloh aka ming la om. A maelhmai aka hlip bangla a hnaep dongah anih te n'nawtna uh pawh.
He was despised and rejected by people; a man of sorrows, and one familiar with pain. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised; and we considered him insignificant.
4 Mamih kah tlohtat te amah loh a phueih tih mamih kah nganboh te khaw a tloeng thil. Tedae kaimih loh anih te Pathen kah a ben neh a ngawn tih a phaep la m'poek uh.
But surely he has borne our sicknesses and carried our sorrows; yet we thought he was being punished by God, struck by God, and afflicted.
5 Mamih boekoek dongah anih poeih uh. Mamih kathaesainah kongah anih te a phop. Mamih kah rhoepnah ham thuituennah te anih dongla cul. A boengha loh mamih he n'hoeih sak.
But he was pierced because of our rebellious deeds; he was crushed because of our sins. The punishment for our peace was on him, and with his wounds we are healed.
6 Mamih boeih he tu bangla kho m'hmang uh. Hlang long he amah mah kah khosing la n'hooi uh coeng. Te dongah mamih boeih kathaesainah te BOEIPA loh anih pum dongah a hong.
We all like sheep have gone astray; we have each turned to his own way, and Yahweh has placed on him the iniquity of us all.
7 Anih a tueihno tih a phaep dae maeh la a khuen boiva bangla a ka ang pawh. Tumanu bangla a mul aka vok pah mikhmuh ah tum uh tih a ka ang pawh.
He was oppressed; yet when he humbled himself, he did not open his mouth; as a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
8 Thongtla neh laitloeknah dongah a khuen. A thawnpuei te unim aka lolmang eh? Ka pilnam kah boekoek neh amih kah tloh kongah anih vik te mulhing khohmuen lamloh a hlap.
By coercion and judgment he was condemned; who from that generation thought anymore about him? But he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the offenses of my people the penalty was put on him.
9 Kuthlahnah te saii pawt tih a ka dongah thailatnah khaw om pawt. Te dae a phuel te halang rhoek taengla, a dueknah te hlanglen taengla a khueh pah.
They placed his grave with the criminals, with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, nor had there been any deceit in his mouth.
10 Anih loh a phop ham neh a nue ham khaw BOEIPA loh a ngaih. A hinglu he moeithennah la a khueh dongah a tiingan te khohnin a sen a hmuh ni. BOEIPA kah kutnaep vanbangla anih kut dongah a thaihtak sak ni.
Yet it was Yahweh's will to crush him and make him ill. When he makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring, he will prolong his days, and Yahweh's purpose will be accomplished through him.
11 A hinglu loh thakthaenah a hmuh vetih, a mingnah khaw cung ni. Ka sal kah duengnah loh muep a tang sak vetih, amih kathaesainah khaw amah loh a phueih pah ni.
After the suffering of his life, he will see light and be satisfied by his knowledge. My righteous servant will justify many; he will bear their iniquities.
12 Te dongah anih ham hlangping lakli ah boe ka soep pah vetih, kutbuem a len la ka hmoel pahni. Anih long tah a hinglu te dueknah ham a kingling tih, boekoek rhoek neh a tae thil. Amah loh hlangping kah tholhnah te a phueih tih boekoek rhoek ham khaw a hloep pah.
Therefore will I give him his portion among the multitudes, and he will divide the spoils with the many, because he exposed himself to death and was numbered with the transgressors. He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors.
