< Isaiah 34 >

1 Namtom rhoek loh hnatun hamla ha mop lah. Namtu rhoek loh hnatung uh saeh lamtah diklai neh lunglai boeih neh a cadil cahma rhoek boeih loh yaa saeh.
You people of all nations, come near and listen and pay careful attention. I want the world and everything that is in it to hear what I say.
2 BOEIPA kah a thinhul te namtom boeih taengah, a kosi te amih kah caempuei boeih taengla pawk. Amih te a thup vetih maeh la a voeih ni.
Yahweh is angry with [the people of] all nations; he is (furious/very angry) with all their armies. He has decided that they must be destroyed, and he will slaughter them.
3 Amih a ngawn te a voeih vaengah a rhok kah a bothae te rhim ni. Amih thii loh tlang a yut sak ni.
Their corpses will not be buried, and [as a result] their corpses will stink, and their blood will [fill the streams that] flow down the mountains.
4 Vaan dong caempuei boeih te muei vetih vaan cabu bangla kolong uh ni. Amih kah caempuei boeih te misur hnah a hoo bangla, thaibu a hoo bangla hoo ni.
The sky will disappear like [SIM] a scroll that is rolled up [and thrown away]. Stars will fall [from the sky] like [SIM] [withered] leaves fall from grapevines, [or] like [SIM] shriveled figs fall from fig trees.
5 Ka cunghang loh vaan ah hmilhmal tih Edom a cuk thil. Pilnam te kamah kah yaehtaboeih loh laitloeknah neh a pha coeng.
When Yahweh has finished his work of destroying objects in the sky, he will punish [the people of] Edom, that people-group that he has said must be destroyed/exterminated.
6 BOEIPA kah cunghang tah a thii hah coeng. Bozrah kah BOEIPA hmueih neh Edom khohmuen kah maeh len kongah maehtha neh, tuca thii neh, kikong neh tutal kuel kah a tha loh a men sak.
[It is as though] Yahweh has a sword that is covered with blood and fat— the blood of lambs and goats and the fat of the kidneys of rams to be sacrificed. [It is as though] Yahweh will offer a sacrifice in [the city of] Bozrah [and kill many people] in other cities in Edom.
7 Cung neh vaito lueng khaw amih taengla suntla ni. Te vaengah a khohmuen te thii neh hmilhmal vetih a laipi khaw maehtha bangla men ni.
[Even] wild oxen will be killed, as well as young calves and big bulls. The ground will be soaked with blood, and the dirt will be covered with the fat of those animals.
8 BOEIPA taengah phulohnah khohnin neh, Zion kah tuituknah te a sah kum khaw om.
That will be the time when Yahweh gets revenge for what those people did to the people of Judah.
9 A soklong te kunhnai la, a laipi te kat la poeh ni. A khohmuen te kunhnai rhawm la poeh ni.
The streams in Edom will be full of burning pitch/tar, and the ground will be covered with burning sulfur.
10 Khoyin khothaih kumhal duela thi mahpawh. A khu khaw cadilcahma lamkah cadilcahma patoeng taengla cet ni. A yoeyah kah a yoeyah la khap uh vetih te long te paan uh voel mahpawh.
Yahweh will never finish punishing Edom with fire; the smoke will rise forever. No one will ever live in that land, and no one will [even] travel through it.
11 Khosoek saelbu, kharhoeng neh saelbu loh a pang vetih vangak loh kho a sak thil ni. Rhilam te hinghong la, lungto he a hong la a toe uh.
Ravens and various kinds of owls and small animals will live there. Yahweh will measure that land carefully: He will measure it to [to decide where] to cause chaos and destruction.
12 A hlangcoelh rhoek khaw a ram ah hah a khueh uh vetih a mangpa rhoek khaw a honghi la boeih om ni.
There will be no princes; the people who have authority will have no kingdom to rule.
13 A impuei te dohui hling loh, a hmuencak te mutlo hling loh a yam thil ni. Te vaengah pongui kah tolkhoeng la, tuirhuk vanu kah a bu la poeh ni.
The deserted palaces and fortified buildings will be full of thorns and thistles. The ruins will be a place for jackals/wolves and owls to live.
14 Te vaengah kohong neh sa-ui hum vetih maae loh a hui a khue ni. Vathae khaw pahoi paa vetih amah ham ngolbuel a hmuh ni.
Animals that live in the desert and hyenas/wolves will be there, and wild goats will bleat/call to each other. There will also be creatures/animals that [roam around] at night.
15 Te ah valah loh bu a tuk vetih oi ni. A khae phoeiah tah a hlipkhup ah a ku thil ni. Te ah te valae rhoek khaw tingtun uh vetih a la te a paa cu ni.
Owls will make their nests there and lay their eggs in the nests; and when the eggs hatch, the mother birds will cover them [with their wings]. There will also be falcons/hawks there, each with its mate.
16 BOEIPA kah cabu dongah cae uh lamtah tae uh lah. Amih kah pakhat khaw hmaai mahpawh. A la pakhat khaw a paa vawt uh mahpawh. Ka ka loh a uen coeng dongah amih te BOEIPA kah a mueihla loh a coi ni.
If you read what is written in the book that contains messages from Yahweh, you will find out what he will do [in Edom]. All of those animals and birds will be there, and each one will have a mate, because that is what Yahweh has promised, and his Spirit will cause them [all] to gather [there].
17 Amah loh amih ham hmulung a nan pah. A kut loh amih ham rhilam a suem pah te kumhal duela a pang uh ni. Cadilcahma phoeikah cadilcahma loh a khuiah kho a sak uh ni.
He has decided what parts of the land [of Edom] each will live in, and those are the places where each bird or animal will live. Their descendants will possess those areas forever, throughout all generations.
