< Isaiah 10 >
1 Anunae boethae oltlueh a tarhit tih, a daek khaw thakthaenah ni a daek uh.
Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive decrees
2 tattloel kah dumlai te aka phaelh sak ham neh ka pilnam mangdaeng kah laitloeknah aka rhawth la om. Te dongah nuhmai te a kutbuem la a poeh sak tih cadah te a poelyoe uh.
to deprive the needy of justice, and to rob the poor amongst my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3 Cawhtnah tue vaengah balae na saii vetih khohla bangsang lamkah khohli rhamrhael ha pawk vaengah u taengah lae na rhaelrham eh? Bomnah ham neh na thangpomnah te melam na hnoo eh?
What will you do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth?
4 Hlongkhoh lakli ah a koisu vetih a ngawn yueng la a cungku sak ham phoeiah a tloe om pawh. Te boeih nen khaw a thintoek mael pawt tih a kut a thueng pueng.
They will only bow down under the prisoners, and will fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
5 Anunae Assyria aih, ka thintoek caitueng neh a kut dongkah a conghol khaw kai kah kosi lamni a om.
Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!
6 Anih te namtom lailak taengah, ka thinpom te pilnam taengah ka tueih. Kutbuem buem ham neh maeh poelyoe ham khaw anih tih ka uen coeng. Te dongah anih te a dueh a dueh tih vongvoel kah dikpo bangla cawtkoi la om ni.
I will send him against a profane nation, and against the people who anger me I will give him a command to take the plunder and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7 Tedae a lutlat toengloeng moenih a he, a thinko loh a moeh te khaw a thinko neh mitmoeng sak ham moenih a? Te dongah namtom a phit ham te a yolkai mai moenih.
However, he doesn’t mean so, neither does his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off not a few nations.
8 Ka mangpa ke manghai boeiloeih moenih a?
For he says, “Aren’t all of my princes kings?
9 Kalneh Karkhemish bang moenih a? Khamath Arpad bang moenih a? Samaria Damasku bang moenih a?
Isn’t Calno like Carchemish? Isn’t Hamath like Arpad? Isn’t Samaria like Damascus?”
10 Jerusalem lakah khaw, Samaria lakah ah khaw ka loh kut amih kah mueirhol neh mueidaep ram te a puei vanbangla,
As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, whose engraved images exceeded those of Jerusalem and of Samaria,
11 Samaria neh anih kah mueirhol taengah khaw ka saii van mahpawt a? Te dongah Jerusalem neh anih kah mueirhol taengah khaw ka saii van ni.
shall I not, as I have done to Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
12 Tedae Zion tlang neh Jerusalem taengkah a bibi boeih te Boeipa loh mueluem a khueh vaengah tah Assyria manghai kah thinko mamlal thaih te khaw, a mik dongkah buhuengpomnah boeimang te khaw ka cawh ni.
Therefore it will happen that when the Lord has performed his whole work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the wilful proud heart of the king of Assyria, and the insolence of his arrogant looks.
13 Ka kut dongkah thadueng neh ka saii coeng tih ka cueihnah neh ka yakming dongah pilnam kah rhilung khaw ka thoeih coeng. A coekcoe la khohrhang rheth pah tih a lueng la kho aka sa te ka suntlak sak coeng.
For he has said, “By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding. I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures. Like a valiant man I have brought down their rulers.
14 Pilnam kah thadueng te ka kut dongkah vaa bu bangla a hmuh tih, diklai pum kah a hnoo vaa duei a coi bangla kamah loh ka coi. Te vaengah a phae aka khong neh a ka aka ang tih aka cip om pawh,” a ti.
My hand has found the riches of the peoples like a nest, and like one gathers eggs that are abandoned, I have gathered all the earth. There was no one who moved their wing, or that opened their mouth, or chirped.”
15 Hai loh amah neh aka daeh soah kohang uh vetih, hlawh loh amah aka pom te thangpom thil saeh a? Conghol loh amah aka thueng te thing pawt mai akhaw conghol bangla thueng saeh a?
Should an axe brag against him who chops with it? Should a saw exalt itself above him who saws with it? As if a rod should lift those who lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up someone who is not wood.
16 Te dongah caempuei Boeipa Yahovah loh a putsut te pawtrhawt la, a thangpomnah khaw hmaisai bangla a rhong pah ni.
Therefore the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will send amongst his fat ones leanness; and under his glory a burning will be kindled like the burning of fire.
17 Israel kah vangnah te hmai la, amah kah a cimcaih te hmaisai la poeh ni. Te vaengah a hling neh a lota te a dom vetih hnin at dongah a tlum sak ni.
The light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.
18 A duup kah a thangpomnah khaw, a hinglu lamkah a cangthai khaw pumsa duela a thok sak ni. Te vaengah aka ngoi loh a paci bangla anih te om ni.
He will consume the glory of his forest and of his fruitful field, both soul and body. It will be as when a standard bearer faints.
19 A duup kah thing aka sueng te a yol tah camoe kah a tae la om rhung ni.
The remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child could write their number.
20 Te khohnin a pha vaengah Israel aka sueng khaw thap voel pawt vetih Jakob imkhui kah aka rhalyong long khaw amah aka ngawn soah hangdang voel mahpawh. Tedae Israel kah BOEIPA cim dongah ni oltak la a hangdang eh.
It will come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel, and those who have escaped from the house of Jacob will no more again lean on him who struck them, but shall lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21 Aka sueng la, Jakob ko kah aka sueng te tah hlangrhalh Pathen taengla mael ni.
A remnant will return, even the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God.
22 Na pilnam Israel he tuipuei laivin bangla aka sueng om cakhaw khahoeinah a hlavawt tih duengnah loh a yo hlang tah mael ni.
For though your people, Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.
23 A boeihnah dongah caempuei, ka Boeipa Yahovah aka hlavawt tah diklai pum kah a laklung ah a saii van ni.
For the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will make a full end, and that determined, throughout all the earth.
24 Te dongah Boeipa caempuei Yahovah loh, “Zion kah khosa ka pilnam loh Egypt khoboe bangla cungcik neh nang aka taam tih a conghol neh nang aka vuek Assyria te rhih boeh.
Therefore the Lord, GOD of Hosts, says, “My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.
25 Tedae kolkalh rhuet ah ka kosi neh ka thintoek loh a khah vetih amamih kah tlumhmawnnah la om bitni.
For yet a very little while, and the indignation against you will be accomplished, and my anger will be directed to his destruction.”
26 Oreb lungpang kah Midian te rhuihet neh a hmasoe sak bangla, caempuei BOEIPA loh anih te a haenghang thil ni. Te vaengah Egypt khoboe bangla a conghol te tuipuei soah a thueng bal ni.
The LORD of Hosts will stir up a scourge against him, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. His rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up like he did against Egypt.
27 Te khohnin a pha vaengah na laengpang dongkah a hnorhih neh na rhawn dongkah a hnamkun han sawn vetih hnamkun te situi loh a pat sak ni.
It will happen in that day that his burden will depart from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
28 Anih Ai la pawk tih Migron te a poeng tih Mikmash ah amah kah hnopai te a hal.
He has come to Aiath. He has passed through Migron. At Michmash he stores his baggage.
29 Lamkai a paan uh vaengah mamih kah rhaehim Geba tah lakueng coeng. Saul kah Gibeah Ramah khaw rhaelrham coeng.
They have gone over the pass. They have taken up their lodging at Geba. Ramah trembles. Gibeah of Saul has fled.
30 Gallim nu loh na ol hlampan saeh, Anathoth mangdaeng te Laish loh hnatung saeh.
Cry aloud with your voice, daughter of Gallim! Listen, Laishah! You poor Anathoth!
31 Madmenah khaw yong coeng, Gebim khosa rhoek khaw bakuep coeng.
Madmenah is a fugitive. The inhabitants of Gebim flee for safety.
32 Nob ah hnin at duem hamla Zion nu kah tlang neh Jerusalem som ah a kut a thueng ni.
This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
33 Caempuei Boeipa Yahovah loh a rhimom neh thingsam te a doi tih a sang la aka pomsang te khaw a vung coeng dongah aka sang rhoek tah kunyun uh ni.
Behold, the Lord, GOD of Hosts, will lop the boughs with terror. The tall will be cut down, and the lofty will be brought low.
34 Duup khocak te thi neh a hum vetih Lebanon kah aka khuet te khaw cungku ni.
He will cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon will fall by the Mighty One.
