< Hosea 7 >
1 Israel te ka hoeih sak vaengah tah Ephraim kah thaesainah neh Samaria kah boethae khaw phoe. A honghi a saii uh dongah hlanghuen loh a muk tih vongvoel ah caem a capit thil.
When I have healed Israel, then shall the iniquity of Ephraim be revealed, and the wickedness of Samaria; for they have wrought falsehood: and a thief shall come in to him, [even] a robber spoiling in his way;
2 Tedae a thinko nen pataeng amih kah boethae boeih te ka poek a ti uh moenih. Amamih kah khoboe loh amamih a ven doeah ni ka mikhmuh ah a om uh coeng.
that they may concert together as [men] singing in their heart: I remember all their wickedness: now have their own counsels compassed them about; they came before my face.
3 Amih kah boethae dongah manghai a kohoe tih amih kah laithae dongah mangpa a kohoe.
They gladdened kings with their wickedness, and princes with their lies.
4 Amih aka samphaih boeih he buh thong loh a toih tapkhuel banghui ni. Vaidamtlam a nook te a phuelh daengah ni a rhuet te duem pueng.
They are all adulterers, as an oven glowing with flame for hot-baking, on account of the kneading of the dough, until it is leavened.
5 Mamih kah manghai khohnin ah tah misurtui kah sue loh mangpa rhoek a nue sak dongah a kut te aka hnukpoh rhoek taengah a thoh.
[In] the days of our kings, the princes began to be inflamed with wine: he stretched out his hand with pestilent fellows.
6 Amih lungbuei te tapkhuel bangla a sulbung neh khoyin khing tawn uh tih a buh thong neh muelh ip. A mincang ah tah hmaisai hmai bangla a toih.
Therefore their hearts are inflamed as an oven, while they rage all the night: Ephraim is satisfied with sleep; the morning is come; he is burnt up as a flame of fire.
7 Amih te tapkhuel bangla boeih ling tih amih kah laitloek rhoek te khaw a hlawp uh. A manghai rhoek khaw boeih cungku uh tih amih khuiah kai aka khue om pawh.
They are all heated like an oven, and have devoured their judges: all their kings are fallen; there was not among them one that called on me.
8 Ephraim amah he pilnam neh a pitpom dongah Ephraim he a hoi mueh buh la poeh.
Ephraim is mixed among his people; Ephraim became a cake not turned.
9 Kholong loh a thadueng a yoop pah pataeng a ming moenih. A lu soah sampok a haeh khaw a ming moenih.
Strangers devoured his strength, and he knew [it] not; and grey hairs came upon him, and he knew [it] not.
10 A mikhmuh ah Israel kah hoemdamnah a phoe pah lalah a Pathen BOEIPA taengla mael uh pawt tih he boeih nen khaw amah a tlap uh moenih.
And the pride of Israel shall be brought down before his face: yet they have not returned to the Lord their God, neither have they diligently sought him for all this.
11 Ephraim he lungbuei a tal hil a hloih vahui bangla om. Egypt te a khue uh tih Assyria la cet uh.
And Ephraim was as a silly dove, not having a heart: he called to Egypt, and they went to the Assyrians.
12 A caeh van bangla amih soah ka lawk ka phuel vetih amih te vaan kah vaa bangla ka suntlak sak ni. Amamih rhaengpuei kah olthang bangla amih te ka thuituen ni.
Whenever they shall go, I will cast my net upon them; I will bring them down as the birds of the sky, I will chasten them with the rumor of their [coming] affliction.
13 Kai taeng lamloh a poeng uh dongah amih aih te anunae. Kai taengah boe a koek dongah amih ham rhoelrhanah om coeng. Kai loh amih ka lat lalah pataeng amih loh kai taengah laithae a thui uh.
Woe to them! for they have started aside from me: they are cowards; for they have sinned against me: yet I redeemed them, but they spoke falsehoods against me.
14 A lungbuei lamloh kai taengah pang uh pawt dae cangpai neh misur thai baih ham tah a thingkong dongah rhung uh tih kai lamloh nong uh.
And their hearts did not cry to me, but they howled on their beds: they pined for oil and wine.
15 Kai loh amih ban te ka moem tih ka thuituen dae kai taengah boethae la moeh uh.
They were instructed by me, and I strengthened their arms; and they devised evils against me.
16 A sosang pawt te a mael thil uh tih tangkawl payai bangla om uh. A kosi ol dongah amih kah mangpa rhoek te tumca neh cungku uh ni. Te te Egypt khohmuen ah amih tamdaengnah la om.
They turned aside to that which is not, they became as a bent bow: their princes shall fall by the sword, by reason of the unbridled state of their tongue: this is their setting at nothing in the land of Egypt.
