< Hosea 5 >
1 Khosoih rhoek he he ya uh lamtah Israel imkhui loh hnatung uh. Manghai imkhui long khawhnakaeng laeh. Mizpah ah pael la na om uh tih Tabor ah lawk na phuel dongah nangmih ham laitloeknah om.
Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment [is] towards you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 Boekoek ngawnnah dongah muelh uh tih te boeih te kai loh thuituennah ka khueh.
And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I [have been] a rebuker of them all.
3 Ephraim khaw ka ming tih Israel khaw kai lamloh a thuh thai moenih. Ephraim loh na cukhalh neh Israel a poeih coeng.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou art guilty of lewdness, [and] Israel is defiled.
4 A Pathen taengla mael ham khaw a khoboe te a voeih uh moenih. Pumyoihnah mueihla loh amih kotak ah om tih BOEIPA te ming uh pawh.
They will not frame their doings to turn to their God: for the spirit of lewdness [is] in the midst of them, and they have not known the LORD.
5 A maelhmai ah Israel kah hoemdamnah a doo dongah Israel neh Ephraim khaw amamih kathaesainah dongah paloe uh. Te vaengah amih taengkah Judah khaw paloe.
And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity; Judah also shall fall with them.
6 A boiva neh, a saelhung neh BOEIPA tlap hamla cet uh dae amih lamloh a khoe uh coeng dongah hmu uh mahpawh.
They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the LORD; but they shall not find [him]; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 Halh ca a cun uh tih BOEIPA taengah hnukpoh uh dongah amih te hlasae neh a khoyo a yoop pah pawn ni.
They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8 Gibeah ah tuki neh Ramah ah olueng ueng uh. Benjamin nang hnukah Bethaven yuhui saeh.
Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, [and] the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud [at] Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9 A cak la ka ming dongah Israel koca taengkah toelthamnah hnin ah Ephraim khaw imsuep la om ni.
Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
10 Judah mangpa rhoek he rhi rhawt la a om uh dongah ka thinpom he tui bangla amih soah ka hawk ni.
The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: [therefore] I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Olrhi hnukah pongpa ham mulmet tih laitloeknah aka phop Ephraim te a hnaemtaek coeng.
Ephraim [is] oppressed [and] broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
12 Te dongah kai he Ephraim taengah bungbo bangla, Judah imkhui ham keet la ka tlung pah ni.
Therefore [will] I [be] to Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13 Ephraim loh amah kah tlohtat, Judah loh amah kah a hma te a hmuh vaengah Ephraim te Assyria la cet tih manghai Jareb te a tah. Tedae anih loh nangmih te hoeih sak ham noeng pawt tih nangmih kah a hma te a toi moenih.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah [saw] his wound, then Ephraim went to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet he could not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14 Kai he Ephraim taengah sathuengca la, Judah imkhui taengah sathueng la ka poeh pah. Kai loh ka baeh vetih ka cet ni. Ka khuen vaengah khaw huul uh mahpawh.
For I [will be] to Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, [even] I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue [him].
15 A boe nah rhi ah ni kamah hmuen la ka cet vetih ka mael eh. Amamih kah rhal khuiah ni ka maelhmai a tlap uh vetih kai n'toem uh eh.
I will go [and] return to my place, till they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
