< Hosea 10 >
1 Israel tah misur bangla culh tih amah ah a thaih om. A thaih te a pul bangla hmueihtuk khaw ping. A khohmuen a then bangla kaam dongah lohna uh.
A luxuriant vine, is Israel, fruit, beseemeth him, —According to the abundance of his fruit, hath he brought abundance to the altars, according to the goodliness of his land, hath he made goodly statues.
2 A lungbuei hoem uh tih boe uh coeng. Amah loh amih kah hmueihtuk a phil pah vetih a kaam te a rhoelrhak pah ni.
Hypocritical is their heart, Now, shall they be held guilty, —He, will break down their altars, he will destroy their statutes.
3 Te dongah, “BOEIPA he n'rhih uh pawt dongah mamih he manghai tal coeng dae manghai loh mamih ham balae a saii eh?” a ti uh pawn ni.
For, now, will they say, We have no king, —for we revere not Yahweh, and what could, a king, do for us?
4 Paipi saii ham vaengah a poeyoek la tap ham ol a thui uh dongah lai kong ah laitloeknah sue la cawn.
They have spoken words, swearing falsely, in solemnizing a covenant, —therefore shall judgment, spring up like a poisonous plant, on the ridges of the field.
5 Bethaven vaitola te Samaria imben loh a bakuep uh thil tih a pilnam loh a soah nguekcoi. A mueirhol khosoih rhoek te a so neh a thangpomnah dongah omngaih dae anih lamkah te a poelyoe pah hae coeng.
About the calves of Beth-aven, will the inhabitant of Samaria be concerned, —for the people thereof, have mourned over it, and, the ascetics thereof, who, over it, used to exult, [shall mourn] for the glory thereof, because it hath departed therefrom.
6 Amah te khaw Assyria ah Jareb manghai kah khocang la a khuen ni. Ephraim loh yah a poh vetih Israel khaw amah kah cilsuep dongah yak ni.
Itself also, to Assyria, shall be borne along, as a present to a hostile king, —shame, shall Ephraim receive, that Israel, may be ashamed, of his own counsel.
7 Samaria he hmata ni, a manghai khaw tui hman kah tuihom banghui ni.
Silenced is Samaria: her king, is as a chip on the face of the waters,
8 Israel kah tholhnah boethae hmuensang kah tim ni. Amih kah hmueihtuk soah hling neh lota luei vetih, “Tlang rhoek te kaimih n'et lamtah som rhoek te kaimih soah cungku lah,” a ti uh ni.
So shall the high places of Aven, be destroyed, the sin of Israel, Thorn and prickle, shall come up on their altars, —Therefore shall they say to the mountains, Cover us, and to the hills, Fall on us.
9 Gibeah tue lamloh Israel nang na tholh tih pahoi pai uh. Gibeah ah hlangthae koca taengla caemtloek khaw amih te a kae moenih.
Beyond the days of Gibeah, hast thou sinned, O Israel: there, came they to a stand, the battle against the sons of perversity, touched them not in Gibeah.
10 Ka hue vaengah amih te ka toel pueng ni. Amih kathaesainah dongah amih te tholhnah rhaepnit neh a pin vaengah pilnam loh amih taengah tingtun uh bitni.
When I please, then will I chastise them, —and there shall be gathered together against them—peoples, they being harnessed to their two Iniquities;
11 Ephraim he cang til ham aka lungnah vaitola bangla a cang dae kai loh a rhawn then te ka nan thil ni. Ephraim ka ngol thil vaengah Judah loh a yoe vetih Jakob loh amah hamla a thoe ni.
But, Ephraim, shall be a heifer broken in, loving to tread out corn, when, I, have passed over upon her fair neck, —I will drive Ephraim, Judah, shall plow, Jacob, shall harrow to him.
12 Namamih ham duengnah te soem uh lamtah sitlohnah ol te at uh. Namamih kah khohai te yawt uh. Nangmih soah duengnah pai tih n'thuinuet hil tah BOEIPA te toem ham tue coeng ni.
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap ye at the bidding of lovingkindness, furrow to yourselves the newly-ploughed soil, —then will be the time to seek Yahweh, until he come, that he may rain down righteousness for you.
13 Halangnah la na thoe uh dongah dumlai na ah uh. Na longpuei ah na hlangrhalh cungkuem neh na pangtung dongah laithae thaih ni na caak uh.
Ye have plowed lawlessness, perversity, have ye reaped, ye have eaten the fruit of deception, —because thou didst trust in thy chariots, in the multitude of thy mighty men.
14 Na pilnam taengah longlonah pai vetih na hmuencak boeih te caemtloek hnin kah manu neh camoe aka til Betharbel Shalman rhoelrhanah bangla a rhoelrhak ni.
Therefore shall there arise a tumult among thy peoples, and, all thy fortresses, shall be plundered, as Shalman plundered Beth-arbel, in the day of battle, —the mother, upon her children, dashed to the ground.
15 Nangmih kah boethae, boethae hmai ah Bethel loh nangmih ham a saii tangloeng pawn ni. Mincang ah Israel manghai te hmata rhoe hmata ni.
Even so, hath Bethel, done to you, because of your exceeding wickedness, —in the dawn, shall the king of Israel be, utterly silenced.
