< Hebru 11 >

1 A hmuethma hmuh pawt hno dongah ngaikhueknah neh n'ngaiuep he ni tangnah la aka om coeng.
Now faith is the assurance of [things] hoped for, the proving of things not seen.
2 He nen ni a. ham rhoek long khaw a phong uh.
For therein the elders had witness borne to them.
3 Hmuh mueh lamkah hmuh koi la coeng sak ham Pathen kah olka loh lunglai a tarhoek tila tangnah neh n'yakming uh. (aiōn g165)
By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which do appear. (aiōn g165)
4 Tangnah neh Abel loh Kain lakah Pathen taengah hmueih muep a nawn. Te lamlong tah hlang dueng ni tila ana oep. Pathen kah a kutdoe te ana oep dongah aka duek long khaw tangnah neh a thui pueng.
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 Tangnah rhangneh dueknah te hmuh pawt ham Enok tah a thovael sak. Tedae Pathen loh a tholvael dongah anih te hmu voel pawh. Thovaelnah a om hlanah mah Pathen taengkah kolo neh ana oep coeng.
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for before his translation he hath had witness borne to him that he had been well-pleasing unto God:
6 Tedae tangnah mueh la kolo n'tong thai pawh. Pathen aka paan loh amah tah om tih amah aka tlap rhoek te taphu om tila a tangnah a kuek.
And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [unto him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that seek after him.
7 Noah loh a hmuh pawt te a mangthui vaengah a hinyah tih tangnah neh amah cako khangnah ham sangpho te a rhoekbah. Te nen te Diklai a boe sak tih tangnah neh duengnah rhopangkung la coeng.
By faith Noah, being warned [of God] concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
8 Tangnah neh a khue vaengah rho la pang aka cai hmuen te paan ham Abraham loh a ngai. Te vaengah mela a caeh khaw a ming mueh lam ni a caeh.
By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out unto a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 Tangnah neh hlanglang la olkhueh ram ah kuepkol. Olkhueh, amah hmuen aka pang Isaak neh Jakob khaw dap ah kho hmaih a sakuh.
By faith he became a sojourner in the land of promise, as in a [land] not his own, dwelling in tents, with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 Te vaengah khoengim a khueh tangtae khopuei te ni a. lamtawn. Pathen tah te khopuei kah kutthai neh rhaengpuei ham bibikung la om.
for he looked for the city which hath the foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Cayaa Sarah amah long khaw a pumrho neh a tuetang kah a voelah a tiingan a tongnah ham thaomnah te tangnah neh a dang. Te khaw aka caeng te uepom la a poek dongah ni.
By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive seed when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised:
12 Te dongah pakhat lamlong khaw muep thaang coeng. Aka duek he khaw vaan kah aisi yet la, tuili kaeng kah laivin bangla n'taetloel coeng.
wherefore also there sprang of one, and him as good as dead, [so many] as the stars of heaven in multitude, and as the sand, which is by the sea shore, innumerable.
13 Amih rhoek boeih loh tangnah neh duek uh. Olkhueh te dang uh pawt dae a hla lamkah a dan uh tih a doe uh. Te phoeiah diklai ah yinlai neh lampah ni tila a phong uh.
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 Tebang aka thui rhoek loh a tolrhum a ngaidam uh te a phoe uh.
For they that say such things make it manifest that they are seeking after a country of their own.
15 Tedae te lamkah ha suntlak uh te poek uh ngawn koinih a voei uh tue khaw a khueh uh suidae.
And if indeed they had been mindful of that [country] from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16 Tedae vaan ah a then ngai aka om te a ngaidam uh coeng. Te dongah amih loh Pathen te amamih kah Pathen la khue ham yak uh pawh. Amih ham kho pakhat a rhoekbah pah coeng.
But now they desire a better [country], that is, a heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17 Abraham te a noemcai vaengah tangnah neh Isaak te a nawn tih khueh duen aka nawn la olkhueh te a dang.
By faith Abraham, being tried, offered up Isaac: yea, he that had gladly received the promises was offering up his only begotten [son];
18 Anih ham te, “Nang kah tiingan te Isaak dongah a khue,” tila a thui.
[even he] to whom it was said, In Isaac shall thy seed be called:
19 Pathen loh aka duek rhoek lamkah pataeng a thoh thai tila ana poek coeng. Te lamkah ni anih te nuettahnah lam khaw a dang.
accounting that God [is] able to raise up, even from the dead; from whence he did also in a parable receive him back.
20 Tangnah nen ni lo ham aka cai Jakob neh Esau kawng khaw Isaak loh a uem.
By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, even concerning things to come.
21 Tangnah neh Jakob loh a duek tom vaengah Joseph ca rhoek te rhip a uem tih a conghol soi ah a bawk.
By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, [leaning] upon the top of his staff.
22 Tangnah nen ni Joseph loh a duek tom ah Israel ca rhoek kah sunglatnah kawng te a poek tih a rhuh kawng te a uen.
By faith Joseph, when his end was nigh, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 Tangnah nen ni Moses te a napa loh a thaang neh hla thum ana thuh. Camoe te sakthen la a hmuh uh vaengah manghai kah oltloek te rhih uh pawh.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months by his parents, because they saw he was a goodly child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
24 Tangnah nen ni Moses loh lungcuei la a om vaengah Pharaoh canu kah a capa a ti nah te a aal.
By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
25 Kolkalh ham tholhnah neh omngaihbawnnah khueh lakah Pathen kah pilnam te patang puei ham lat a tuek.
choosing rather to be evil entreated with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
26 Taphu te a lamso dongah Khrih kah hnaelcoenah te Egypt kah khohrhang lakah khuehtawn tanglue la a poek.
accounting the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt: for he looked unto the recompense of reward.
27 Tangnah neh Egypt a hnoo tih manghai kah thinsanah te rhih pawh. Hmuhmueh hmuh bangla a ueh.
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
28 Tangnah neh yoom neh thii haek te a saii. Te daengah ni camingomthang aka ngawn loh amih te a ben pawt pai eh.
By faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.
29 Tangnah neh Tuili Sen te lan long bangla phueihuet la a hlaikan uh. Te te dang ham aka cai Egypt rhoek tah buek uh.
By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were swallowed up.
30 Tangnah neh Jerikho pangbueng te hnin rhih khuiah a vael uh vaengah tim.
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been compassed about for seven days.
31 Tangnah neh hlanghalh Rahab loh rhalyuep rhoek te ngaimong la a doe dongah ol aek rhoek taengah poci pawh.
By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with them that were disobedient, having received the spies with peace.
32 Te phoeiah balae ka thui pueng eh? Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David neh Samuel neh tonghma rhoek tue kah a kawng thui ham ka hlavawt pueng.
And what shall I more say? for the time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah; of David and Samuel and the prophets:
33 Amih loh tangnah neh ram khaw a na, duengnah te a saii, olkhueh a pang, sathueng ka a buem uh.
who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 Hmai kah thaomnah a thih, cunghang ha khaw a rhaelrham tak, thahnoeng lamkah a thaphoh, caem vaengah hlang tlung la coeng, hlanglang caem khaw a thup uh.
quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, waxed mighty in war, turned to flight armies of aliens.
35 Thohkoepnah neh huta rhoek loh amamih kah aka duek tangtae te a dang uh. Tedae a ngen loh aka then ngai thohkoepnah dang ham tlannah te doe mueh la phaep uh.
Women received their dead by a resurrection: and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:
36 A ngen tah tamdaengnah neh noemcainah nganboh a yook uh bueng kolla hloong neh thongim khaw a yookuh.
and others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 A dae uh, a ah uh, cunghang kah ngawnnah neh duek uh. A vawtthoek, patang palai la a hnaep uh. Tupho, maae pho neh poengdoe uh.
they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword: they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, evil entreated
38 Diklai tah amih neh a tiing la a om moenih. kohong ah, tlang ah, lungko ah, diklai khui ah poengdoe uh.
(of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves, and the holes of the earth.
39 Tedae amih tangnah neh aka phong boeih loh olkhueh te a dang uh moenih.
And these all, having had witness borne to them through their faith, received not the promise,
40 Pathen kah a rhan te pakhat khaw mamih ham a then, daengah ni mamih pawt atah a rhuemtuet uh pawt eh.
God having provided some better thing concerning us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.
