< Suencuek 9 >
1 Te vaengah Pathen loh Noah neha carhoek te yoethen a paek tih amih taengah, “Pungtai uh lamtahna ping uh vaengah diklai te khulae uh.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, —and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;

and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, —over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, —into your hand, have they been given.
3 A cungkuem he nangmih taengah kan paek tih mulhing rhulcai boeih khaw baelhing hingsuep bangla nangmih ham cakok la om ni.
As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, —Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
4 Tedae maeh kah a hinglua thii tena ca uh mahpawh.
Yet flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat;
5 Te phoeiah nangmih kah hinglu ham nangmih kah thii te hmantang la ka suk ni. Mulhing boeih kah kut lamkah khaw ka suk vetih Hlang kut lamkah khaw, a manuca kut lamkah khaw, hlang kah hinglu te ka suk ni.
And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, —and from the hand of man From the hand of each one’s brother, will I require the life of man:
6 Hlang he Pathen kah muei laa saii dongah hlang kah thii aka long sak hlang tetah amah thii long van ni.
He that sheddeth man’s blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, —For, in the image of God, made he man.
7 Tedae nangmih tah pungtai uh lamtah ping uh. Diklai hmanah luem uh lamtah ping uh.
Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
8 Te phoeiah Pathen loh Noah neh amah taengkaha carhoek tea voek.
And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
9 Te vaengah, “Kamah loh ka paipi he, nang taeng neh nang phoeikah na tiingan taengah,
I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, —and with your seed after you;

and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, —of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
11 Nangmih taengah ka paipi te ka ling coeng dongah pumsa boeih te tuilii tui neh koep ka huih voel mahpawh. Diklai he phae ham tuilii khaw koep om voel mahpawh he,” a ti.
yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, —neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 Te phoeiah Pathen loh, “Kai loh kamah laklo neh nang laklo ah, khaw aka hing hinglu boeih laklo neh kumhal ham nangmih kah thawnpuei taengah ka paek paipi kah miknoek tah he ni.
And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, —to age-abiding generations: —
13 Kai kah pampacung te cingmai dongah ka khueh vetih kai laklo neh diklai lakloah paipi kah miknoek la om ni.
My bow, have I set in the cloud, —and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
14 Diklai hmanah cingmai ka om sak vaengah pampacung te khaw cingmai dongah tueng ni.
and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, —and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
15 Te vaengah pumsa boeih phae ham tuilii tui koep halo voel boel saeh tila kai laklo neh nangmih lakloah khaw, aka hing hinglu boeih neh pumsa boeih taengah ka khueh ka paipi te ka poek ni.
then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, —that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
16 Cingmai dongah pampacung tea om vaengah ka sawt vetih Pathen laklo neh diklai hmankah aka hing hinglu boeih, pumsa boeih neh ka khueh dungyan paipi te ka poek ni.
so the bow shall be in the cloud, —and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
17 Te dongah Pathen loh Noah taengah, “Hekah he tah kai laklo neh diklai hmanah pumsa boeih laklo ah ka ling paipi kah miknoek ni,” a ti nah.
And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 Lawngkhui lamkah halouhvaengah Noah carhoek Shem, Ham, Japheth, om uh tih Ham tah Kanaan kah a napa la om.
And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were—Shem and Ham and Japheth, —now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.

These three, were the sons of Noah, —and from these, was all the earth overspread.
20 Te vaengah Noahte lo tawn hlang la om tih misura tue.
And Noah began to be a husbandman, —so he planted a vineyard:
21 Te dongah misurtui tea ok tiha rhuihmil dongah a dap khui ah rha uh.
and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
22 Kanaan napa Hamloh a napa kah a yah tea hmuh vaengah kawtpoeng kaha maya rhoi taengah puen.
And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father’s shame, —and told his two brethren outside.

And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
24 Noah te misurtui a lamloha haenghang vaengaha capaa noi loh anih soaha saii tea ming.
And Noah awoke from his wine, —and came to know what his youngest son had done to him.
25 Te dongah Kanaan taengah thae a phoei tih, “A maya rhoi taengah sal rhoek khuikah sal la om saeh,” a ti nah.
And he said, Accursed be Canaan, —a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
26 Te phoeiah, “Shem kah BOEIPA Pathen te a yoethen saeh lamtah anih ham sal la Kanaan om saeh.
And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, —And let Canaan be their servant:
27 Pathen loh Japhethte yoek saeh lamtah Shem kah dap khuiah rhaehrhong saeh. Kanaan tah anih ham sal la om saeh.
God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
28 Tuilii phoei lamkah Noah te kum ya thum neh kum sawmnga hing coeng.
And Noah lived after the flood, —three hundred and fifty years:
29 Te dongah Noah kah khohnin he a pum la kum ya ko neh kum sawmngaa lo phoeiah duek.
so, all the days of Noah, were—nine hundred and fifty years, —and he died.
