5 Ka boeipa kah a tui ok te he moenih a? Te lamkah la anih a hma khaw a hma dae. Anih taengkahna saii uh tena lolh uh coeng, 'ti nah,” a ti nah.
Why have you stolen my silver cup? is it not this out of which my lord drinks? and he divines augury with it; you have accomplished evil in that which you have done.
6 Te dongah amih te a kae vanneh hekah olka he a thui pah.
And he found them, and spoke to them according to these words.
7 Tedae amih loh, “Ka boeipa tebang olka te ba ham lae a thui. Na sal rhoek loh tebang hno a saii ham khaw savisava la.

If we brought back to you out of the land of Chanaan the money which we found in our sacks, how should we steal silver or gold out of the house of your lord?
9 Na salrhoek khuiah u taeng mai ah khaw a om atah duek saeh lamtah kaimih khaw ka boeipa taengah sal la ka om uh eh,” a ti uh.
With whoever of your servants you shall find the cup, let him die; and, moreover, we will be servants to our lord.

And they hasted, and took down every man his sack on the ground, and they opened every man his sack.
12 Te dongah a ham taeng lamkah a tong tih a tlap te a poeih taengla a khah vaengah bunang te Benjamin kah sungkoi dongah a hmuh.
And he searched, beginning from the oldest, until he came to the youngest; and he found the cup in Benjamin's sack.

And Judas and his brethren came in to Joseph, while he was yet there, and fell on the ground before him.

And Joseph said to them, What is this thing that you have done? know you not that a man such as I can surely divine?

And Judas said, What shall we answer to our lord, or what shall we say, or wherein should we be justified? whereas God has discovered the unrighteousness of your servants; behold, we are slaves to our lord, both we and he with whom the cup has been found.
17 Tedae Joseph loh, “Hekah he kai loh ka saii ham te savisava, a kut dongah bunang a hmuh hlang te kai taengah sal la om ngawn saeh lamtah nangmihte na pa taengah ngaimong la bal uh ngawn,” a ti nah.
And Joseph said, Far be it from me to do this thing; the man with whom the cup has been found, he shall be my servant; but do you go up with safety to your father.
And Judas drew near him, and said, I pray, Sir, let your servant speak a word before you, and be not angry with your servant, for you are next to Pharao.
19 Ka boeipa loh a salrhoek he, 'Na pa nehna mana om a?,” a ti tih n'dawt.
Sir, you asked your servants, saying, Have you a father or a brother?
20 Te dongah, “Ka boeipa la a pa khaw patong coeng tih a patong soi kah a cun capa a poeihte om. Tedae a manu pakhat kah a cun hmaih khuiah a mayate duek tih anih amah bueng late a cul dongah a napaloha lungnah,’ ka ti uh.
And we said to [my] lord, We have a father, an old man, and he has a son of his old age, a young one, and his brother is dead, and he alone has been left behind to his mother, and his father loves him.
21 Te vaengah na sal rhoek he, 'Anih te ka mik ah ka khueh van ham khaw kai taengla han khuen thuk,’ na ti.
And you said to they servants, Bring him down to me, and I will take care of him.
22 Te vaengah ka boeipa la, 'Camoe loh a napa a caehtak ham tah coeng pawh. Caehtak koinih a napa te duek ni, ' ka ti uh.
And we said to [my] lord, The child will not be able to leave his father; but if he should leave his father, he will die.
23 Tedae na salrhoek la, 'Na mana a poeih te nan suntlak puei pawt atah kai maelhmai hmuh ham khoep uh boeh,’ na ti.
But you said to they servants, Except your younger brother come down with you, you shall not see my face again.
24 Te dongah na sal rhoek he a pa taengla ka pawk uh vanneh ka boeipa kah olka te anih taengla ka puen uh.
And it came to pass, when we went up to your servant our father, we reported to him the words of our lord.
25 Te dongah a pa loh, 'Mah ham khaw caak bet vawn uh bal dae,’ a ti nah.
And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food.
26 Te vaengah, “Kaimih taengah ka mana a poeih om pawt koinih hlang maelhmai hmuh ham a coeng pawt dongah, 'Ka mana a poeih loh kaimih taengah a om pawt mai ah ka caeh uh ham coeng pawh tedae halo atah ka cet uh ni,’ ka ti uh.
And we said, We shall not be able to go down; but if our younger brother go down with us, we will go down; for we shall not be able to see the man's face, our younger brother not being with us.
27 Te vaengah na sal rhoek he a pa loh, 'Ka yuu loh kai ham panit han sak te nangmih long khaw na ming uh.
And your servant our father said to us, You know that my wife bore me two [sons];
28 Tedae pakhat he kai taeng lamloh cet coeng. Te dongah, 'A ngaeh ngawn a ngaeh tang coeng,’ ka ti. Te dongah ni tahae due anih te ka hmu pawh.
and one is departed from me; and you said that he was devoured of wild beasts, and I have not seen him until now.
29 Anih he khaw ka mikhmuh lamkahna khuen uh tih anih loh yoethae puei bal koinih kai sampok he saelkhui ah a thae la nan hla uh ve,’ a ti. (Sheol )
If then you take this one also from my presence, and an affliction happen to him by the way, then shall you bring down my old age with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
30 Te dongah na sal kai loh a pa taeng ka pha tih kaimih taengah camoe amah te om pawt koinih a hinglu neh a hinglu te a hlaengtang uh rhoi dongah,

—it shall even come to pass, when he sees the boy is not with us, [that] he will die, and your servants will bring down the old age of your servant, and our father, with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
32 Na salpa loh camoe te a pa taengah rhi ka khang tih, 'Anih he nang taengla kam pawk puei pawt atah a pa taengah hnin takuem ka tholh ka phueih bitni,’ ka ti nah.
For your servant has received the boy [in charge] from his father, saying, If I bring him not to you, and place him before you, I shall be guilty towards my father for ever.
33 Te dongah na salpa he camoe yuengah ka boeipa kah sal la ka om mai saeh lamtah camoe te a mayarhoek neh bal sak mai.
Now then I will remain a servant with you instead of the lad, a domestic of my lord; but let the lad go up with his brethren.
34 Camoe kamah nen pawt koinih a pa taengah metlam caeh eh? A pa taengah yoethae a hmuh man ka hmuh lah ve,” a ti nah.
For how shall I go up to my father, the lad not being with us? lest I behold the evils which will befall my father.
