< Suencuek 20 >
1 Te phoeiah Abraham loh Negev kho la puen uh tih Kadesh neh Shur laklo ah kho a sak vaengkah Gerar ah bakuep.
And Abraham departed thence towards the south country, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned at Gerar.
2 Te vaengah Abraham loh a yuu Sarah te ka ngannu ni a ti dongah Gerar manghai Abimeleka tah tih Sarah tea loh.
And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister. And Abimelech the king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
3 Tedae Abimelek te khoyina mang ah Pathenloh a paan tih a taengah, “Rhukom tangtae hlang yuu tena rhawt dongah na duek coeng ne,” a ti nah.
But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art [but] a dead man, because of the woman that thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife.
4 Te dongah Abimelek loh anih te ben pawh. Tedae, “Boeipa namtom loh dueng cakhawna ngawn aya?
But Abimelech had not come near her. And he said, Lord, wilt thou also kill a righteous nation?
5 Amah loh kai taengah, 'Anih ka ngannua ti tih he long khaw ka nganpa ni, ' a ti moenih a? Ka thinko thincaknah neh, ka kut cimcaihnah nen ni he khaw ka saii,” a ti nah.
Did he not say to me, She is my sister? and she, even she said, He is my brother. In the integrity of my heart and in the innocency of my hands have I done this.
6 Te dongah anih tea mang ah Pathen loh, “Ue hekah he nang loh thinko thincaknah nehna saii tila ka ming. Tedae anih taek sak ham nang kam paek pawt dongah kai taengah tholhkhui lamloh nang te kan tuem kan soem.
And God said to him in a dream, I also knew that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart, and I, too, have withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore have I not suffered thee to touch her.
7 Tahaeah hlang yuute mael laeh. Anihte tonghma tih nang hama thangthui daengahnina hing eh. Na mael pawt atah na taengkah boeih neh namah khawna duek rhoe na duek ni tila ming laeh,” a ti nah.
And now, restore the man's wife; for he is a prophet, and will pray for thee, that thou mayest live. And if thou do not restore [her], know that thou shalt certainly die, thou and all that is thine.
8 Te dongah Abimelekte mincang ah thoo tih a sal boeih tea khue. Te phoeiah hekah olka boeih he amih hna aha thui hatah hlang boeihloh a rhih uh.
And Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and spoke all these words in their ears; and the men were greatly afraid.
9 Abimelek loh Abraham tea khue tih, “Kaimih ham balaena saii, nang taengah metlam ka tholh tih kamah so neh ka ram ah tholh muep nan khuen. Kai taengahna saii bibi tea saii uh noek moenih,” a ti nah.
And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him, What hast thou done to us? And in what have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me, and on my kingdom, a great sin? Thou hast done to me deeds that ought not to be done.
10 Te dongah Abimelek loh Abraham te, “Hekah dumlai hena saii vaengah balaena hmuh,” a ti nah.
And Abimelech said to Abraham, What hast thou seen that thou hast done this?
11 Tedae Abraham loh, “Hekah hmuen ah Pathen hinyahnah om pawt tih ka yuu kah olka ah kai n'ngawn uh ve ka ti dongah ni.
And Abraham said, Because I said, Surely the fear of God is not in this place, and they will kill me for my wife's sake.
12 Tedae anihte a pa canu ka ngannu rhep ni. A nu canu pawt dae ka yuu lam khaw om ngawn.
But she is also truly my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.

And it came to pass when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, Let this be thy kindness which thou shalt shew to me: at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.
14 Te vaengah Abimelek loh tu neh saelhung khaw, sal tongpa neh salnu khawa lohtih Abraham tea paek. A yuu Sarah te khaw amah taengaha mael.
And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and bondmen and bondwomen, and gave [them] to Abraham, and restored him Sarah his wife.
15 Te phoeiah Abimelek loh, “Na mikhmuh kah ka khohmuen aka om he namah mik ah then na ti bangla khosa ngawn ne,” a ti nah.
And Abimelech said, Behold, my land is before thee: dwell where it is good in thine eyes.
16 Sarah taengah khaw, “Na nganpa taengah tangka thawngkhat nang ham hmaithennah ka paek coeng tih namah taengkah aka om boeih neh hlang boeih hmaiahna tang uh coeng he,” a ti nah.
And to Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand [pieces] of silver; behold, let that be to thee a covering of the eyes, in respect of all that are with thee, and with all; and she was reproved.
17 Tedae Abrahamte Pathen taengah thangthui. Pathen loh Abimelek khaw, a yuu khaw, a salnu rhoek khaw a hoeih sak dongah ca a sak uh.
And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and his wife and his handmaids, and they bore [children].
18 Abraham yuu Sarah kah lai ah Abimelek im kah hlang bung boeihte BOEIPAloh a khaih rhoela a khaih pah.
For Jehovah had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
