< Suencuek 11 >
1 Te vaengah diklai pum ah ol pakhat neh olka thikat laom.
And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
2 Tedae amih te khothoeng laa puen uh hatah Shinar khohmuenah kolbawna hmuh uh tih teah te kho a sak uh.
And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
3 Te vaengah hlangloh a hui taengah, “Halo, laiboeng sai uhsih lamtah hmai neh tik uh sih,” a ti uh. Te dongah lungto yueng la laiboeng tea khuehtih taplai yueng la lungpaata khueh uh.
And they said one to another, come, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4 Te vaengah, “Lo lah, mamih ham khopuei neh rhaltoengim khaw, a soite vaan duela sa uh sih. Te dongah mamih ham ming khueh sih, diklai pum kah mikhmuh ah vik n'taekyak uh ve,” a ti uh.
And they said, come, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach to heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we should be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
5 Tedae khopuei te hmuh ham BOEIPA ha pawk vaengah hlang ca rhoek loh rhaltoengim te ana sak uh.
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men were building.
6 BOEIPA loh amih he pilnam pakhat neh ol pakhat la boeih a om uh dongah saii hama mangtaeng uh khaw saii hama tong uh hatah amih ham lol tlaih pawt la he!
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be withheld from them, which they have imagined to do.
7 Ceh, suntla uhsih lamtah amih ol te thoek pah sih. Te daengah ni hlang loh a hui kah hmuilai te a yaak pawt eh?,” a ti.
Come, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
8 Te dongah BOEIPA loh amih te diklai hman boeih aha taekyak tih khopuei thoh ham khawa toeng uh.
So the LORD scattered them abroad from there upon the face of all the earth: and they stopped building the city.
9 He kongah BOEIPA loh diklai pum kah ol he pahoia thoek pah tih a mingte Babylona sui. Te lamlong tah BOEIPA loh amihte diklai hman boeih aha taekyak.
Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD there confounded the language of all the earth: and from there did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27 Te phoeiah hekah he Terah kah rhuirhong ni. Terah loh Abram, Nakhaw neh Haran tea sak tih Haran loh Lot tea sak.
Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
28 Tedae Haran te a napa Terah mikhmuh ah a pacaboeina khohmuen Khalden kho Ur ah duek.
And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
29 Te phoeiah Abram neh Nakhaw loh yuua loh rhoi. Abram yuu ming tah Sarai tih Nakhaw yuu ming tah Haran canu Milkah ni. Haran tah Milkah neh Iskah kaha napa ni.
And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
30 Te vaengah Saraite yaa la omtih camoe khueh pawh.
But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
31 Tedae Terahloh a capa Abram neha capa Haran kah capa Lot khaw, a capa Abram yuua langa Sarai khaw, a khuen tih Khalden kho Ur lamkah Kanaan khohmuen la caeh ham tun hlah uh dae Haran tea pha uh vaengah teah te kho vik a sak uh.
And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran, and dwelt there.
32 Terah kah a tue khohnin he kum yahnih neh kum nga lo. Terah khaw Haran ah duek.
And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
