< Galati 4 >

1 Rhopangkung te cahmang la a om khui boeih atah sal khaw, boei khaw, aka om boeih te a tanglue tloe moenih ka ti coeng.
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a slave, though he is lord of all;
2 Tedae pa kah a tuetang duela imtawt neh hnokhoem kut hmuiah a om sak.
but is under guardians and stewards until the day appointed by the father.
3 Te dongah mamih khaw cahmang la n'om uh vaengah Diklai kah a niing hmuiah sal aka bi la n'om?
So we also, when we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental principles of the world.
4 Tedae a tue a soepnah loh ha pawk vaengah Pathen loh a capa te han tueih. Huta lamloh om tih olkhueng hmuiah phoe.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,
that he might redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Abba apa tila aka pang a capa kah Mueihla te Pathen loh mamih thinko ah han tueih.
And because you are sons, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba, Father."
So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God.
8 Tedae Pathen ana ming pawt vaengah a coengnah loh pathen la aka om pawt rhoek kah sal na bi uh.
However at that time, not knowing God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
9 Tedae Pathen te mingpha coeng ta. Te dongah Pathen loh lat m'ming ta. Metlae tattloel neh a niing aka khodaeng taengla koep na mael uh.
But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?
10 Khohnin khaw, hla khaw, khoning khaw, kum khaw na yaeh uh coeng.
You observe days, months, seasons, and years.
11 Nangmih ham ka thakthae he a hoeihae pawt khaming tila nangmih taengah ka birhih.
I am afraid for you, that I might have wasted my labor for you.
Kai nan veet uh moenih.
I beg you, brothers, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You did me no wrong,
13 Tedae a cuekca kah nangmih taengah ka phong te pumsa kah vawtthoek dongah tila na ming uh.
but you know that in physical weakness I preached the Good News to you the first time;
14 Ka pumsa ah nangmih ham noemcainah om cakhaw nan hnaelcoe uh pawt tih nan tuei uh moenih. Tedae Pathen kah puencawn bangla, Jesuh Khrih bangla kai nan doe uh.
and though my condition was a trial to you, you did not despise nor reject; but you received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
15 Te koinih nangmih kah yoethennah tah menim? A phoeng mai koinih na mik te na koeih uh tih kai nan paek uh mako tila nangmih taengah ka laipai.
Where was the blessing you enjoyed? For I testify to you that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
16 Nangmih ham oltak ka thui dongah nangmih kah rhal la ka coeng a?
So then, have I become your enemy by telling you the truth?
17 Nangmih taengah a thatlai uh te thuem pawh.
They zealously seek you, but for no good purpose; they desire to alienate you, that you may be zealous for them.
18 Tedae a then la thatlai ham tah then yoeyah ngawn.
But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.
19 Ka ca rhoek nangmih ah Khrih a kap duela u ham nim ka bung a tloh bal.
My children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you—
but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you.
21 Kai taengah thui uh lah.
Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?
22 Abraham loh capa panit a khueh te a daek coeng ta. Pakhat te salnu kah tih pakhat te aka loeih nu kah ta.
For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman, and one by the free woman.
23 Tedae salnu kah te tah pumsa la a cun. Aka loeih nu kah te tah olkhueh lamloh a cun.
However, the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but the son by the free woman was born through promise.
24 Amih rhoi loh a tueng sak te om. Amih rhoi tah paipi panit la om. Pakhat tah Sinai tlang lamkah tih sal la a cun. Anih tah Hagar ni.
These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to slavery, which is Hagar.
25 Hagar tah Arabia kah Sinai tlang coeng ni.
For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and represents Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in slavery with her children.
26 Tedae soben Jerusalem tah aka loeih ni. Anih tah mamih kah manu ni.
But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
27 A daek coeng te ta, Cakol la cacun mueh aw uum khungdaeng lamtah bung aka tlo pawt aw tamhoe lah. Va aka khueh lakah khosoek kah camoe tah taoe ping ta.
For it is written, "Rejoice, you barren who do not bear. Break forth and shout, you that do not travail. For more are the children of the desolate than of her who has a husband."
28 Manuca rhoek nangmih ngawn tah Isaak bangla olkhueh kah ca rhoek la na om uh.
Now you, brothers, as Isaac was, are children of promise.
29 Tedae pumsa la a cun loh mueihla la cun te a hnaemtak vanbangla tahae ah khaw om van tangloeng.
But as then, he who was born according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, so also it is now.
30 Tedae cacim loh, “Salnu neh a capa te haek laeh. Salnu kah a capa te aka loeih nu kah capa taengah phaeng loengloeng boel saeh,” a ti te ta.
However what does the Scripture say? "Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not inherit with the son of the free woman."
31 Te dongah manuca rhoek salnu kah voel pawt tih aka loeih kah ca rhoek la n'om uh.
So then, brothers, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the free woman.
