1 Hlang loh vaito khaw, tu khaw a huen tiha ngawn akhaw, a yoih akhaw vaito hamte saelhung panga neh tu ham boiva pumli neh thuung saeh.
If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
2 Umlawt ah hlanghuena hmuh tiha boh vaengaha duek atah a taengah thii kap boel saeh.
If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, [there shall] no blood [be shed] for him.
3 Khomika thoeng atah a soah thii kap saeh lamtah aka huen loh sah rhoe sah saeh. A khueh pawt atah a huen dongah amah khaw yoi uh saeh.
If the sun be risen upon him, [there shall be] blood [shed] for him; [for] he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
4 A huente a kut dongaha hmuhlaa hmuh atah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw a hing neh rhaepnit la sah saeh.
If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.
5 Hlang loh lohma neh misurduma laem sak vaengah a rhamsa tea hlahtih a rhamsaloh a tloe lohma li te a laem pa atah a khohmuen lamkah a then, a misurdum kah aka then neh thuung saeh.
If a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man’s field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.
6 Hmai puek tih hlinga dom vaengah canghlom neh canghli khaw, lohma khaw, a hlawp atah hmai aka hlong loh sah rhoe sah saeh.
If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed [therewith; ] he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.
7 Hlang loh a hui te tangka khaw hnopai khaw khoembael sak ham a paek. Tedae im lamkah te hlang loh a huen tih hlanghuen te a hmuh atah a rhaep la thuung saeh.
If a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.
8 Hlanghuen te a hmuh pawt atah a hui kah hno dongah a kut hlah pawt cakhaw im kungte Pathen taengla kun saeh.
If the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, [to see] whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods.
9 Boekoeknah olka cungkuem dongah vaito khaw, laak khaw, tu khaw, himbai khaw, he hnohma ni a ti boeih tah a panit la Pathen mikhmuh ah ol hang khuen saeh. Pathen kah a boe sak long te tah a hui te a rhaep la sah saeh.
For all manner of trespass, [whether it be] for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, [or] for any manner of lost thing, which [another] challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; [and] whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.
10 Hlang loh a hui taengah laak neh vaito, tu neh rhamsa cungkuem khaw dawn hama paek dae, duek mai tih tlawt mai ni, a hmuh pawt vaengah khaw a mawt pah khaming.
If a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing [it: ]
11 Te vaengah a hui kah hnopai soah a kut hlah pawt ham amih rhoi laklo aBOEIPA kah olhlo om saeh. A kungmah long khaw doe saeh lamtah sah boel saeh.
[Then] shall an oath of the LORD be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour’s goods; and the owner of it shall accept [thereof], and he shall not make [it] good.
12 Tedae anih taeng lamloha huenlaa huen atah a kungmah te sah saeh.
And if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.
13 Te te a ngaeh rhoe a ngaeh tila laipai hang khuen atah sahate sah boel saeh.
If it be torn in pieces, [then] let him bring it [for] witness, [and] he shall not make good that which was torn.
14 Hlang loh a hui taeng lamkaha vat dae a taengah a kungmahaom pawt vaengah a khaem sak tiha duek atah sah rhoe sah saeh.
And if a man borrow [ought] of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof [being] not with it, he shall surely make [it] good.
15 A kungmahte a taengahaom atah sah boel saeh. Te te a kutloh coeng atah a thapang neh mael saeh.
[But] if the owner thereof [be] with it, he shall not make [it] good: if it [be] an hired [thing], it came for his hire.
16 tongpa loh oilaa bae mueh tea yoek tih a taengaha yalh atah a yuu la oei rhoe oei saeh.
And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.
17 A napa loh hulate anih taengah paek hama aallaa aal atah oila kah maan bangla tangka thuek pah saeh.
If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.
18 Hlangbi khaw hing sak boeh.
Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
19 Rhamsa taengkah aka yalh boeih tah duek rhoe duek saeh.
Whosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.
20 Yahweh amah bueng taeng pawtah pathen tloe rhoek taengah aka nawn tah thup saeh.
He that sacrificeth unto [any] god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed.
21 Yinlai khaw vuelvaek boeh, Egypt kho ah yinlai la na om uh coeng dongah nen boeh.
Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
22 Nuhmai neh cadah boeih tah phaep boeh.
Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 Na phaep la na phaep tih kai taengaha panglaa pang atah a pangngawlnah te ka hnatun rhoe ka hnatun pah ni.
If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;
24 Te vaengah ka thintoek sai vetih nangmih te cunghang neh kang ngawn ni. Na yuu rhoek te nuhmai la, na carhoek khaw cadah la om uh ni.
And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25 Nangmih taengkah ka pilnam mangdaeng te tangkana hlah pah atah a taengah puhlah bangla om boeh. Anih tea casai khueh pah boeh.
If thou lend money to [any of] my people [that is] poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26 Na hui kah himbai te na laikoi la na laikoi atah khomik a khum hlan ah amah taengla mael laeh.
If thou at all take thy neighbour’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27 A himbai khaw te kah himbai bueng ni a vin sokah a himbai dongah metlama yalh eh? Ka lungvatnah oeh dongah ka taenglaa pang vaengah ka hnatun pah ni ta.
For that [is] his covering only, it [is] his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I [am] gracious.
28 Pathente thaephoei boeh, na pilnam sokah khoboei khaw thaephoei thil boeh.
Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.
29 Na thaihhmin neh na tuihuem khaw hloh thil boeh, na ca caming khaw kamah taengla m'pae.
Thou shalt not delay [to offer] the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
30 Na vaito taeng neh na boiva taengah khaw saii tangloeng. Hnin rhih khuiah a manu neh om saeh lamtah hnin rhet dongah tah kamah taengla m'pae.
Likewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, [and] with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.
31 Kamah taengah hlang cim la om uh laeh. Khohmuen kah saha saa khaw ca uh boeh. Te te ui ham voeih pah.
And ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat [any] flesh [that is] torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.
