< Ephisa 5 >
1 Te dongah thintlo a ca rhoek vanbangla Pathen kah mueiloh la om uh.
Become ye, therefore, imitators of God, as children beloved,
2 Khrih loh mamih n'lungnah dongah mamih yueng la nawnnah neh Pathen taengah hmueih botui kah a bova la amah a tloeng uh bangla lungnah dongah pongpa uh.
And walk in love—even as, the Christ also, loved you, and delivered himself up in your behalf, an offering and sacrifice unto God, for a fragrance of sweet smell.
3 Hlangcim rhoek neh a tingtawk vanbangla nangmih taengah Cukhalnah neh rhongingnah boeih khaw, halhkanah khaw phoei boel saeh.
But, fornication, and all impurity, or covetousness, let it not be named among you—even as becometh saints;
4 Yahrhai neh anglat ol khaw saipaat ol te khaw a koihhilh moenih. Tedae uemonah tah lat khuehuh.
And shamelessness and foolish talking, or jesting, —which things are beneath you, —but, rather, giving of thanks;
5 He aka ming long tah hlanghalh, hlang thae neh halhka te khaw boeih na hmat uh. Amah mueibawk neh aka om loh Khrih neh Pathen kah ram ah rho a khueh moenih.
For, this, ye know, if ye take note—that no fornicator, or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
6 Nangmih te a hong ol neh m'hmilhmak boel saeh. He rhoek kongah Pathen kah kosi loh althanah kah a ca rhoek te a thoeng thil coeng.
Let no one be deceiving you with empty words; for, because of these things, is coming the anger of God upon the sons of obstinacy:
7 Te dongah amih taengah aka cut la om uh boeh.
Do not, then, become co-partners with them;
8 Hnukbuet ah yinnah neh na om uh. Tedae Boeipa dongkah vangnah dongah vangnah kah ca rhoek bangla pongpa laeh.
For ye were, at one time, darkness, but, now, are ye light in the Lord, —as children of light, be walking,
9 Vangnah kah a thaih tah a cungkuem dongah boethennah, duengnah neh oltak la poeh.
For, the fruit of the light, is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth, —
10 Boeipa kah kolo la aka om te khaw soepsoei uh.
Putting to the test what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;
11 Yinnah khuikah a tlongtlai bibi dongah thum uh boeh. Tedae lat ah toeltham pa uh pataeng.
And be not joining in fellowship in the unfruitful works of darkness, but, rather, be even administering reproof;
12 Amih loh a huephael ah a saii te thui ham pataeng rhaidaeng la om.
For, of the secret things which are brought to pass by them, it is, shameful, even to speak!
13 Tedae vangnah loh a toeltham boeih tah phoe coeng.
All things, however, when reproved by the light, become manifest, for, all that of itself maketh manifest, is, light;
14 Aka phoe boeih tah vangnah ni. Te dongah, “Aka ip te haeng lamtah aka duek rhoek taeng lamloh thoo laeh. Te daengah ni Khrih loh nangmih n'tue eh?,” a ti pai.
Wherefore it saith—Up! thou sleeper, and arise from among the dead, and the Christ will shine upon thee.
15 Te dongah na pongpa uh te khaw khaeh khaeh dawn uh. Hlangang banglam pawt tih hlangcueih la omuh.
Be taking heed, therefore, exactly how ye are walking, —not as unwise, but as wise, —
16 Khohnin tah a thae la a om dongah a tue te tlan uh.
Buying out for yourselves the opportunity, because, the days, are evil;
17 Te dongah hlang ang la om uh boeh. Tedae Boeipa kah kongaih te tah hmuhming uh.
For this cause, do not become foolish, but have discernment as to what is the will of the Lord;
18 Te phoeiah a khuiah cungpoehnah aka om misurtui te rhui uh boeh. Tedae Mueihla neh baetawt uh.
And be not getting drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be getting filled in Spirit; —
19 Khat neh khat tingtoeng lung, bawknah laa, mueihla laa neh toidal uh. Boeipa te na thinko kah laa sak neh hlai uh.
Speaking to yourselves, with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs; singing, and striking the strings, with your heart unto the Lord;
20 A cungkuem dongah mamih kah Boeipa Jesuh Khrih ming neh apa Pathen te uem taitu uh.
Giving thanks, always, for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto your God and Father;
21 Khrih rhihnah dongah khat neh khat boengai uh.
Submitting yourselves one to another in reverence of Christ, —
22 Huta rhoek aw, Boeipa taengkah bangla a va rhoek taengah boengai saeh.
Ye wives, unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord,
23 Khrih tah hlangboel kah lu la om tih amah te pum kah khangkung la a om van bangla va he yuu kah a lu la om.
Because, a husband, is the head of his wife, as, the Christ also, is the head of the assembly, he, being the saviour of the body, —
24 Tedae hlangboel loh Khrih taengah boe a ngai bangla yuu rhoek te khaw a cungkuem ah va rhoek taengla boengai van saeh.
Nevertheless, as, the assembly, submitteth herself unto the Christ, so, the wives, unto their husbands, in everything:
25 tongpa rhoek, Khrih loh hlangboel te a lungnah tih anih ham amah a voeih uh van bangla yuu rhoek te lungnah uh.
Ye husbands, be loving your wives, even as, the Christ also, loved the assembly, and delivered, himself, up in her behalf,
26 Te daengah ni ol neh tui dongkah silhnah dongah aka ciim uh te khaw a cimcaih eh.
That, her, he might sanctify, having purified [her] with the bath of water, in declaration,
27 Te daengah ni hlangboel te amah loh a taengah rhuepom la a pai sak eh. A tihnai neh mikmuelhnah neh te bang te pakhat khaw khueh boel saeh. Tedae a cim neh cuemthuek la om saeh.
That, he, might present, unto himself, the assembly, all glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any of such things, but that she should be holy and blameless;
28 Te dongah tongpa rhoek long khaw a yuu rhoek te amah kah pum bangla a lungnah ham a kuek. Amah aka lungnah loh a yuu te a lungnah.
So, ought the husbands [also] to be loving their own wives, as their own bodies, —he that loveth his own wife, loveth himself,
29 Amah pumsa aka hmuhuet he a om noek moenih. Tedae Khrih loh hlangboel ham a saii van bangla amah pum te a cuncah tih a yuhyam.
No one, in fact, ever yet hated, his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, —even as, the Christ, the assembly,
30 A pum dongkah a pumrho la n'om uh.
Because, members, are we of his body; —
31 Te dongah tongpa loh a manu neh a napa te a imphael tak ni. Te vaengah a yuu taengah kap vetih panit te pumsa khat la om ni.
For this cause, will a man leave his father and his mother, and will cleave unto his wife, and, they two, shall become, one flesh.
32 He olhuep tah olpuei la om. Tedae kai loh Khrih neh hlangboel taengkah bangla ka thui.
This sacred secret, is, great, —I, however, am speaking as to Christ and [as to] the assembly; —
33 Tedae nangmih khaw khat rhip loh amah yuu te amah bangla lungnah van saeh. Huta long khaw a va te hinyah saeh.
Nevertheless, ye also, do ye, individually, each man be so loving, his own wife, as himself, and, the wife, [see] that she reverence her husband.
