1 BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang kah a pang la m'paek khohmuen kah kohong ahaka yalh rhok te a hmuh dae anihte uloh a ngawn khaw a mingpha pawt atah,
If there be found a slain person in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, [and] it be not known who hath slain him:
2 Namah kah patongrhoek neh na laitloek rhoekte cet uh saeh lamtah rhok taeng lamkah loh khopuei duela nueh uh saeh.
Then shall thy elders and thy judges go forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about the one that is slain.
3 Te vaengah rhok neha yoei la aka om khopuei kah khopuei patong rhoek loh saelhung khuikah hnamkunaka mawt pawt tih aka thotat pawh vaitola te lo uh saeh.
And it shall be, that the city which is the nearest unto the slain person, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer, which hath not been wrought with, which hath not drawn in a yoke;
4 Te phoeiah vaitola te khopuei patong rhoek loh a khuiaha thotat pawt tiha tawn pawh soklong puei la suntlak puei saeh. Te phoeiah vaito te soklong ah pahoi top uh saeh.
And the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a rough valley, which is neither tilled nor sown, and they shall break there the neck of the heifer in the valley;
5 Te vaengah amah kah bibi ham neh BOEIPA ming dongah yoethen aka pae ham BOEIPA na Pathenloh a coelh Levi koca khosoih rhoekte thoeih uh saeh lamtah tuituknah cungkuem neh nganbokyoknah cungkuemaka om te ol khueh thil uh saeh.
And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them the Lord thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of the Lord; and after their decision shall be done [at] every controversy and every injury;
6 Rhok nehaka yoei khopuei kah patongrhoek boeih long khaw soklong kaha ah vaito te a kut silh thil uh saeh.
And all the elders of that city who are nearest unto the slain person shall wash their hands over the heifer, the neck of which is broken in the valley.
7 Te phoeiah doo uh saeh lamtah, “Kaimih kut ah hlang thii he long rhoe la long pawt tih kaimih mik long khaw a hmuh moenih.
And they shall commence and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, and our eyes have not seen it.
8 Aw BOEIPA na pilnam lana lat Israel he tholh han dawthpah. Ommongsitoe thiiloh na pilnam Israel lakli la coe sak boel lamtah hlang thii khui lamkah loh amih ham khaw dawth la om saeh,” ti uh saeh.
Grant pardon unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, O Lord, and lay not innocent blood in the midst of thy people Israel: and the blood shall be forgiven unto them.
9 Te dongah namah khui lamkah ommongsitoe thii te namahloh khoe lamtah BOEIPA mikhmuh aha thuem la saii.
And thou shalt put away the [guilt of] the innocent blood from the midst of thee, when thou wilt do what is right in the eyes of the Lord.
10 Na thunkharhoek taengah caem lana caeh vaengah anihte BOEIPA na Pathenloh na kut dongah han tloeng tih tamna la na sol mai ni.
When thou goest forth to war against thy enemies, and the Lord thy God delivereth them into thy hands, and thou takest captives of them;
11 Te vaengah tamna khuikah huta suisak sakthen te na hmuh tihna vencoeng. Te dongahna yuu la lolaeh.
And thou seest among the captives a woman of handsome form, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldst take her to thee for wife:
12 Na im khui la khuen. Te phoeiah a lu te vo saeh lamtah a kuttin khaw saii saeh.
Then shalt thou bring her home to thy house; and she shall shave her head, and let grow her nails;
13 Na imkhui aha om vaengah a pum dongkah a tamna himbai te pit saeh lamtah khohnin hla khat khuiah a manu a napa te rhah dae saeh. Te phoeiah anih tena kun thil tihna yuunah vaengah namah yuu la om van ni.
And she shall put off the raiment of her captivity from her, and she shall remain in thy house, and weep for her father and her mother a full month; and after that thou mayest go in unto her, and be her husband, that she may become thy wife.
14 Tedae anih tena ngaih pawt tihna tueih coeng atah amah hinglu la om van saeh lamtah tangka lana yoi rhoe na yoi mahpawh. Anih tena khah coeng dongahna kulup sut mai mahpawh.
And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then shalt thou let her go whither she will; but thou shalt nowise sell her for money; thou shalt not make a servant of her, because thou hast humbled her.
15 Hlang pakhat te yuu panit omtih pakhat te alungnah dae pakhat te tah a hnoel. Te vaengaha lungnah a yuu long khaw, a hnoel long khaw anih ham caa sak pah rhoi tiha hnoel kaha capa te a caming la om mai ni.
If a man have two wives, one beloved, and the other hated, and they bear him children, both the beloved and the hated; so that the first-born son be hers that is hated:
16 Tedae amah taengah aka om te a ca rhoi a pheang tue a pha atah a hnoel huta capa, a caming kah mikhmuh mai ah a lungnah huta kah a capa te a caming la coeng sak boel saeh.
Then shall it be, when he divideth as inheritance among his sons what he hath, that he shall not institute the son of the beloved as the first-born before the son of the hated, the firstborn;
17 A hnoelkaha capa caming la hmat saeh lamtah amah taengkaha dang boeih dongah a thaham rhaepnit la pae saeh. A thahuem cuek he caminghamsum kah hamsum van ni.
But the first-born, the son of the hated woman, shall he acknowledge, to give him a double portion of all that is found in his possession; for he is the beginning of his strength; to him belongeth the right of the first birth.
18 Hlang pakhat taengah capa thinthah om tih a napa ol neh a manu ol te hnatun muehlaa koek mai ni. Anih tea toel rhoi dae te rhoi taengkahte hnatun pawh.
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, who hearkeneth not to the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and they chastise him, and he will not hearken unto them:
19 Anih te a manu neh a napaloh mawt saeh lamtahte hmuen vongka kah khopuei patongrhoek taengla khuen saeh.
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20 Te phoeiah a khopuei patongrhoek taengah, “Ka caa thinthah tih ka ola ngai muehlaa koek. Te dongah carhut yumii la om,” ti rhoi saeh.
And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not hearken to our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21 Te vaengah anihte khopuei tongpa boeihloh lungto neh dae uh saeh lamtah duek saeh. Na khui lamkah boethae khaw te tlam te na hnawt daengahni Israel pumloh a yaakuh vetiha rhih uh eh.
And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die; and thou shalt put away the evil from the midst of thee; and all Israel shall hear, and be afraid.
22 Hlang pakhat te tholhnah kongah dueknah ham laitloeknah om tiha duek vaengah thing donglana kuiok sak mai ni.
And if a man have committed a sin for which there is a punishment of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
23 a rhokte thing dongah rhaeh sak boeh. Kuiok he Pathen kah rhunkhuennah la a om dongah amah khohnin van vaengah up rhoe uplaeh. Te dongah BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang taengah rho la m'paek na khohmuen te poeih boeh.
Then shall his body not remain all night on the tree, but thou shalt surely bury him on that day; [for he that is hanged is a dishonor of God; ] and thou shalt not defile thy land, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
