< Olrhaepnah 2 >
1 Te phoeiah, BOEIPAloh kai taengaha thui vanbangla n'hooiuh tih carhaek li long kah khosoek la n'caehuh phoeiah Seir tlang n'hil uh khaw khohninloh sencoeng.
Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way to the Sea of Suf, as the LORD spoke to me; and we encircled Mount Seir many days.
2 Te dongah BOEIPAloh kai m'voek tih,
The LORD spoke to me, saying,
3 'Hekah tlang khaw puet na hiluh coeng. Te dongah tlangpuei ben la maeluh laeh.
“You have encircled this mountain long enough. Turn northward.
4 Na pilnam te khaw uen lamtah namamihloh thuipah. Seir ahaka om na manuca Esau kocarhoek kah khorhiaka paan nangmih te n'rhih uh ni. Te dongah boeih ngaithuenuh.
Command the people, saying, ‘You are to pass through the border of your brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you. Therefore be careful.
5 Amih kah khohmuen te nangmih taengah kam paek pawt oeh dongah amih te huek boeh. Na kho khophakaha laeh pataeng khaw Seir tlang te tah Esau kah rho lamni ka paekcoeng.
Don’t contend with them; for I will not give you any of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau for a possession.
6 Buh khaw amih taengah tah tangka neh laiuh lamtah cauh. Tui pataeng khaw amih taengah tah tangka neh laiuh lamtah ouh.
You shall purchase food from them for money, that you may eat. You shall also buy water from them for money, that you may drink.’”
7 Hekah khosoek khohamah na van uh te BOEIPA na Pathenloh a mingtih na kut dongkah bitat boeih dongah BOEIPA na Pathenloh na yoe a then sak. Tahae due kum sawmli khuiah nangmih te hno loh m'vaitah moenih,’ a ti.
For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has known your walking through this great wilderness. These forty years, the LORD your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.
8 Te dongah Seir ah kho aka sa mah manuca Esau kocarhoek te m'poeng uh tih kolken longpuei Elath neh Eziongeber lamkah n'hooiuh tih Moab khosoek longpuei la n'khumuh.
So we passed by from our brothers, the children of Esau, who dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion Geber. We turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
9 Tedae BOEIPAloh kai taengah, 'Ar he tah Lot kocarhoek taengah rho la ka paek coeng dongah anih kah khohmuen rho te nangmih kam pae mahpawh. Te dongah Moab te dum boel lamtah amih te caem nen khaw huek boeh.
The LORD said to me, “Don’t bother Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give you any of his land for a possession, because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.”
10 Hlamat lamkah anih khuiahaka om Emim pilnam khaw Anakim bangla tlung khaw tlung, ping khaw ping tih bahoeng sang.
(The Emim lived there before, a great and numerous people, and tall as the Anakim.
11 Raphate khaw Anakim banglaa poekuh dongah amih te Moabloh Emimlaa khueuh.
These also are considered to be Rephaim, as the Anakim; but the Moabites call them Emim.
12 Seir ah khawa hmai ah Khori rhoek kho a sakuh coeng. Tedae Esau ca rhoek loh amih te a huuluh. Amihte a mikhmuh lamloh mitmoenguh. A rho khohmuen ah Israel saii bangla amih yueng la kho a sakuh. Tete BOEIPAloh amih taengaha paek.
The Horites also lived in Seir in the past, but the children of Esau succeeded them. They destroyed them from before them, and lived in their place, as Israel did to the land of his possession, which the LORD gave to them.)
13 Tahaeah thoouh lamtah Zered soklong te kan uh,’ a ti dongah Zered soklong te n'kanuh.
“Now rise up and cross over the brook Zered.” We went over the brook Zered.
14 Kadeshbarnea lamkah n'cet uh tih Zered soklong m'poenguh duelaa tueloh sawmthum neh kum rhet di coeng. BOEIPAloh a caeng vanbangla rhaehhmuen lamkah thawnpuei caemtloek hlangrhoekkhaw boeih khumuh coeng.
The days in which we came from Kadesh Barnea until we had come over the brook Zered were thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the middle of the camp, as the LORD swore to them.
15 Amiha mitmoenguh duela rhaehhmuen khui lamkah amihaka khawkkhek la BOEIPA kut khaw amih taengah om.
Moreover the LORD’s hand was against them, to destroy them from the middle of the camp, until they were consumed.
16 Pilnam khui lamkah caemtloek hlang boeih khaw duek tih aka boeih bangla omcoeng.
So, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from amongst the people,
17 Te dongah BOEIPAloh kai m'voek tih,
the LORD spoke to me, saying,
18 'Moab khorhi kah Ar te tihnin ah vawl poenglaeh.
“You are to pass over Ar, the border of Moab, today.
19 Ammon kocarhoek taenglana pawk vaengah amihte dum boeh. Caemtloek nen khaw amih te huek boeh. Ammon kocarhoek kah khohmuen te nang taengah rho la kam paek moenih Lot kocarhoek hamni rho la ka paek.
When you come near the border of the children of Ammon, don’t bother them, nor contend with them; for I will not give you any of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession, because I have given it to the children of Lot for a possession.”
20 Tete a khuiah lamhma la Rapha rhoek a omuh van coeng dongah Rapha khohmuenlaa poek. Tedae Ammoni rhoek longtah amih te Zamzomilaa khueuh.
(That also is considered a land of Rephaim. Rephaim lived there in the past, but the Ammonites call them Zamzummim,
21 Amih te Anakim bangla pilnamloh len khaw len, yet khaw yet tih sang khaw sang dae amamih mikhmuh ah BOEIPAloh amih te a mitmoeng sak tiha haek dongah amih yueng la Ammon rhoek loh kho a sakuh.
a great people, many, and tall, as the Anakim; but the LORD destroyed them from before Israel, and they succeeded them, and lived in their place,
22 Seir kahaka omte Esau kocarhoek hama saii pah tih Khori rhoek a mit sak bangla amih khaw a mikhmuh aha haekuh dongah tihnin due amih yueng la Esau koca rhoek loh kho a sakuh.
as he did for the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and lived in their place even to this day.
23 Gaza vongup khui duelaaka om Avvii khaw Kaptor lamkahaka lo Kapthorim rhoek loh a mit sak tih amih yueng la tloep ombal.
Then the Avvim, who lived in villages as far as Gaza: the Caphtorim, who came out of Caphtor, destroyed them and lived in their place.)
24 Thoouh laeh. Cetuh lamtah Arnon soklong ke katuh. Na kut dongah kam paek Amori kah Heshbon manghai Sihon te so lamtah a khohmuen te pahoi huul. Te phoeiah anih te caemtloek neh huek.
“Rise up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into your hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
Today I will begin to put the dread of you and the fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole sky, who shall hear the report of you, and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.”
26 Te phoeiah Kedemoth khosoek lamkah puencawn rhoekte Heshbon manghai Sihon taengla rhoepnah olka neh ka tueih tih,
I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth to Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying,
27 'Na khohmuen long ah ka lan mai eh. Longpuei pakhat te ka vai vetih banvoei bantang la ka phael mahpawh.
“Let me pass through your land. I will go along by the highway. I will turn neither to the right hand nor to the left.
28 Buh khaw kai taengah tangka neh yoi lamtah ka ca eh. Tui khaw kai taengah tangka la han yoi lamtah ka o eh. Ka kho nen mah dawk ka lan mai eh.
You shall sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink. Just let me pass through on my feet,
29 BOEIPA ka Pathenloh kaimih taengah m'paek khohmuen la Jordan lamkah ka lanuh vaengah Seir ahaka om Esau kocarhoek neh Ar ahaka om Moab rhoek loh kai hama saiiuh bangla sai van mai,’ ka tinah.
as the children of Esau who dwell in Seir, and the Moabites who dwell in Ar, did to me, until I pass over the Jordan into the land which the LORD our God gives us.”
30 Te vaengah mamih lan sak ham te Heshbon manghai Sihonloh a kohuem pawh. Tedae tihnin kah bangla BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang kut dongah paek a ngaih dongah ni Sihon kah mueihla tea mangkhak sak tih a thinko khawa ning sak.
But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him, for the LORD your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as it is today.
31 Tedae BOEIPAloh kai taengah, 'So lah, Sihon neh anih khohmuen te na mikhmuh ah tloeng hamla ka tawncoeng. A khohmuen te pang pah ham tawn pah lamtah huul pah,’ a ti.
The LORD said to me, “Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before you. Begin to possess, that you may inherit his land.”
32 Te vaengah Sihon neh amah pilnam pumloh caemtloek neh mamih doe ham Jahaz ah ha pawk.
Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Jahaz.
33 Tedae anihte mamih kah BOEIPA Pathenloh mamih mikhmuh la han thak dongah amah neh anih kocarhoek kah a ca khaw, a pilnam pum khaw n'tloekuh.
The LORD our God delivered him up before us; and we struck him, his sons, and all his people.
34 Te vaengah a khopuei boeih te m'buem pa uh tih khopuei takuem te n'thupuh. Huta tongpa neh camoe rhaengnaeng khaw m'paihuh pawh.
We took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones. We left no one remaining.
35 Tedae rhamsa te mamih ham m'poelyoeuh tih khopueirhoek te kutbuem la m'buemuh.
Only the livestock we took for plunder for ourselves, with the plunder of the cities which we had taken.
36 Arnon soklong tuikung kah Aroer lamkah soklong khopuei Gilead pataeng khaw mamih hamaka phoeng khorha la om pawh. Tedae mamih kah BOEIPA Pathenloh mamih mikhmuh ah boeiha tloeng.
From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the valley, even to Gilead, there was not a city too high for us. The LORD our God delivered up all before us.
37 Tedae Ammon kocarhoek kah khohmuen tah mamih BOEIPA Pathenkaha uen vanbangla Jabbok soklong paem boeih neh tlang kah khopuei boeih khaw benuh boeh.
Only to the land of the children of Ammon you didn’t come near: all the banks of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill country, and wherever the LORD our God forbade us.
