1 BOEIPA na Pathenloh namtomrhoek tea phae. Amih kah khohmuen te BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang ham ni a khueh. Te dongah amih te na haek tih a khopueirhoek neh amih im dongah kho na sak vaengah,
When Yahweh thy God, shall cut off the nations whose land Yahweh thy God is giving thee, —and thou shalt dispossess them, and dwell in their cities and in their houses,
2 BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang pang sak hama khueh na khohmuen khui ah khopuei pathumte namah loh hoep.
three cities, shalt thou set apart for thee, —in the midst of thy land which Yahweh thy God is giving thee to possess.
3 BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang m'pang sak na khohmuen rhiah longpuei sael lamtah pathum la saii. Te daengah ni hlang aka ngawn tholh boeihloh te lamte rhaelrham vetih a om thai eh.
Thou shalt prepare for thee a way, and shalt divide into three parts the boundary of thy land which Yahweh thy God shall cause thee to inherit, —and it shall be that every manslayer shall flee thither.
4 Tahae olka he tah hlang aka ngawntih pahoiaka rhaelrham hamla om pah saeh. Te daengahni hlaem hlaemvai ah khaw hmuhuet ngawn pawt dae poek mueh la a huiaka ngawn tea hing eh.
And, this, is the case of the manslayer, who shall flee thither and live, —Whoso shall smite his neighbour unwittingly, he, not having hated him aforetime;
5 Thing top hamla a hui neh duup la cet tih thinga vung vaengah a kut dongkah hai te vik tling mai ni. Te vaengah haitueng dongkah thi coe tih a hui tea dae dongaha duek atah terhoek kah khopuei khat khat khuila rhaelrham saeh lamtah hing saeh.
as when one entereth with his neighbour into a forest, to fell trees, and his hand fetcheth a stroke with the axe, to cut down the tree, and the head flieth off from the handle, and lighteth upon his neighbour, that he die, he, shall flee into one of these cities, and live;
6 Thii phu aka sukloh a thin ling tih hlang aka ngawn hnuk te a hloem vaengah longpuei sen vetiha kae vaengah a hinglu vik ngawn pah ve. A duek te hlaem hlavai vaengah khaw a hmuhuet van oeh pawt dongaha dueknah ham tah laitloeknah khueh boeh.
lest the blood redeemer pursue the manslayer because his heart is hot, and overtake him because the way is long, and he smite him so as to take away his life, —he not being worthy of death, seeing that he had not been hating him aforetime.
7 Te dongahni kai loh, “Namah ham khopuei pathum hoep,” ka titih nang kang uen.
For this cause, am I commanding thee saying, —Three cities, shalt thou set apart for thee.
8 Na parhoek taengkaha toemngam vanbangla na khorhi te BOEIPA na Pathenloh a aeh tih na parhoek taengah paek hamlaa thui khohmuen pum nang taengah m'paek vaengah,
But, if Yahweh thy God should enlarge thy bounds, as he sware unto thy fathers, —and should give thee all the land, which he spake of giving unto thy fathers;
9 tihninah kailoh nang kang uen olpaek boeih hena vai ham neh BOEIPA na Pathen tena lungnah tih a longpuei ah hnin takuem pongpa hamla ngaithuen lamtah herhoek pathum he khopuei pathum nen khaw namah loh koep thap.
because thou dost observe all this commandment to do it which I am commanding thee to-day, to love Yahweh thy God and to walk in his paths all the days, then shalt thou add unto thee yet three cities, unto these three;
10 Te dongah BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang ham rho la m'paek na khohmuen ah ommongsitoekaha thii he long boel saeh. Na pum dongah hlang thii kap van ve.
that innocent blood may not be shed in the midst of thy land, which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee as an inheritance, —and so shed-blood be upon thee.
11 Tedae hlang pakhat aka omloh a hui tea hmuhuet tih aniha rhongngol thil mai ni. Te phoeiaha pai thil tiha hinglu te a ngawn. A hui te duek tih hlang aka ngawn te herhoek kah khopuei khat khat laa rhaelrham atah.
But, when any man shall be hating his neighbour, and shall lie in wait for him and rise up against him, and smite him so as to take away his life that he dieth, —and shall then flee into one of these cities,
12 A khopuei kah patong rhoek te tueih uh saeh lamtah hlang aka ngawn te lo uh saeh. Te phoeiah anih te thii phu aka suk kut ah tloeng uh saeh lamtah duek saeh.
then shall the elders of his city send and fetch him from thence, —and deliver him into the hand of the blood redeemer that he die;
13 Anih te na mik long khaw rhen boel saeh. Ommongsitoe kah thii aka long sak te Israelkhui lamlohna voeih daengahni namah ham khaw a then.
thine eye shall not look with pity upon him, —so shall thou consume the shedding of innocent blood out of Israel and it shall go well with thee.
14 BOEIPA na Pathenloh nang kahna pang ham m'paek khohmuen kah rho na pang dongah hlamat kah rhoek loh a suemuh na hui kah rhite rhawt pah boeh.
Thou shalt not move back the boundary of thy neighbour, by which they set bounds at first, —in thine inheritance which thou shall receive in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving thee to possess.
15 Thaesainah khat khat dongah khaw, tholhnah khat khat neh lai a hmuh vaengkah boirhaem lai khat khat dongah khaw hlang pakhat taengah laipai pakhat bueng pai tarha boel saeh. Laipai panit pathum kah olthui nen mah olka khaw cak sak saeh.
One witness, shall not rise up, against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, with regard to any sin that he may commit, —at the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses, must a matter be establish.
16 Laipailoh koeknah doo ham rhung la hlang taengah kuthlahnahlaa pai atah,
When there shall rise up a wrongful witness against a man, —to answer against him perversely,
17 Tuituknah aka om hlang panitte BOEIPA mikhmuh, khosoih neh amah khohnin kah laitloek la aka omrhoek kah mikhmuh ah pai rhoi saeh.
then shall the two men who are at variance stand before Yahweh, —before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days;
18 Te vaengah laitloek rhoek loh khaeh khaeh cae saeh. Tedae laithae kah laipai mai loh a manuca te laithae laipai ol neh a doo atah,
and the judges shall make diligent inquisition, —and lo! if the witness be, a false witness and, falsely, have answered against his brother,
19 a manuca taengah saii hama mangtaeng vanbangla anih ham khaw saiiuh. Na khui lamkah boethae te te tlam ni na hnawt eh.
then shall ye do unto him as he had thought to de unto his brother, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst;
20 Te daengah ni aka sueng rhoek loh a yaakuh vaengaha rhihuh vetih na khui ah hebang hno thae koep saii hama khoepuh pawt eh.
and, they who remain shall hear and fear, —and not go on to do again according to this wicked thing, in thy midst:
21 Te dongah hinglu yueng la hinglu van, mik yueng la mik, no yueng la no, kut yueng la kut, kho yueng la kho om saeh lamtah na mik long khaw rhen boel saeh.
neither shall thine eye pity, —life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
