Amos 1
1 Tekoa kah saelhung boei rhoek khuikah aka om Amos ol. Judah manghai Uzziah tue neh Israel manghai Joash capa Jeroboam tue, lingluei hmai kah kum vaengah Israel ham a hmuh pah.
The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds of Tekoa, which he saw about Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 BOEIPA tah Zion lamloh kawk tih Jerusalem lamloh a ol a huel tih a thui. Te vaengah boiva aka dawn kah rhamtlim te nguekcoi tih Karmel lu rhae coeng.
And he said: The Lord will roar from Zion, and from Jerusalem he will utter his voice. And the beautiful pastures have mourned, and the top of Carmel has become dry.
3 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Damasku kah boekoeknah pathum neh pali dongah anih te ka rhael mahpawh. Gilead te thi vueituk neh a boh.
Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Damascus, and for four, I will not convert it, in so far as they have threshed Gilead into iron wagons.
4 Te dongah Hazael im ah hmai ka tueih vetih Benhadad impuei a hlawp ni.
And I will send fire onto the house of Hazael, and it will devour the houses of Ben-hadad.
5 Damasku thohkalh te ka khaem vetih kolbawn lamkah khosa rhoek khaw, Betheden kah caitueng aka pom khaw ka thup ni. Aram kah pilnam te Kir la a poelyoe uh ni tila BOEIPA loh a thui.
And I will shatter the crowbar of Damascus, and I will destroy the inhabitants of the camp of the idol and the holder of the scepter of the house of pleasure; and the people of Syria will be transferred to Cyrene, says the Lord.
6 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Gaza kah boekoeknah pathum phoeikah pali dongah anih ka rhael mahpawh. Amih hlangsol a poelyoe tih Edom taengah rhuemtuet la a det.
Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Gaza, and for four, I will not convert it, in so far as they have carried out an excellent captivity, so as to enclose them in Idumea.
7 Gaza vongtung soah hmai ka tueih vetih a impuei khaw a hlawp pah ni.
And I will send a fire onto the wall of Gaza, and it will devour its buildings.
8 Ashdod kah khosa neh Ashkelon kah caitueng aka pom rhoek khaw ka thup ni. Ekron taengah ka kut ka thuung vetih Philisti kah a meet rhoek khaw milh uh ni tila Boeipa Yahovah loh a thui.
And I will destroy the inhabitant from Ashdod, and the holder of the scepter of Ashkelon. And I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remainder of the Philistines will perish, says the Lord God.
9 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Tyre kah boekoeknah pathum neh pali dongah anih te ka rhael mahpawh. Hlangsol te Edom taengah rhuemtuet la a det tih manuca kah paipi te poek uh pawh.
Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Tyre, and for four, I will not convert it, in so far as they have completed an excellent captivity in Idumea and have not considered the bond among brothers.
10 Te dongah Tyre vongtung soah hmai ka tueih vetih a impuei khaw a hlawp pah ni.
And I will send a fire onto the wall of Tyre, and it will devour its buildings.
11 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Edom kah boekoeknah pathum ham neh pali ham te anih ka rhael mahpawh. A manuca te cunghang neh a hloem tih a haidamnah khaw a porhak sak. A thintoek a yoeyah la a paem tih a thinpom te a ngaithuen yoeyah.
Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of Edom, and for four, I will not convert him, in so far as he has been pursuing his brother with the sword and has outraged his brother’s compassion, and he has gone beyond his anger and has held onto his indignation until the end.
12 Te dongah Teman soah hmai ka tueih vetih Bozrah impuei khaw a hlawp pah ni.
I will send a fire onto Teman, and it will devour the buildings of Bozrah.
13 BOEIPA loh he ni a. thui. Ammon ca rhoek kah boekoeknah pathum ham neh pali ham te anih ka rhael mahpawh. Amamih kah khorhi dangka hamla Gilead bungvawn rhoek te a boe uh.
Thus says the Lord: For three wicked deeds of the sons of Ammon, and for four, I will not convert him, in so far as he has cut up the pregnant women of Gilead, so as to expand his limits.
14 Te dongah hmai tah Rabbah vongtung dongah ka hlup pah vetih a impuei khaw a hlawp pah ni. Caemtloek hnin ah tamlung neh cangpalam hnin kah hlipuei.
And I will ignite a fire on the wall of Rabbah. And it will devour its buildings, with wailing on the day of war, and with a whirlwind on the day of commotion.
15 Amih kah manghai amah neh a mangpa rhoek vangsawn la rhenten cet ni tila BOEIPA loh a thui.
And Melchom will go into captivity, he and his leaders together, says the Lord.
