< Caeltueih 11 >
1 Namtom rhoek loh Pathen kah olka a doe uh te Judea ah aka om caeltueih rhoek neh manuca rhoek loh a yaak uh.
Now the Apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judaea heard that, the nations also, had welcomed the word of God.
2 Tedae Peter loh Jerusalem la a caeh vaengah tah anih te yahvinrhetnah dongkah rhoek loh a boelhkhoeh uh.
And, when Peter came up unto Jerusalem, they of the circumcision began to find fault with him,
3 “Pumdul la aka om hlang rhoek taengla na kun tih amih te na vael puei,” a ti nah.
Saying—he went in unto men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.
4 Te dongah Peter loh amih taengah tuek tuek a saep pahoi tih,
But Peter, making a beginning, went on to set forth the matter unto them in order, saying—
5 “Kai loh Joppa khopuei kah ka thangthui vaengah ka muei ka mang neh ka om tih mangthui ka hmuh. Te vaengah himbai len bangla kil pali aka om hno pakhat te vaan lamloh ha colh tih, kai taengla ha pawk.
I was in the city of Joppa praying, and saw in a trance, a vision: —coming down a sort of vessel, like a large sheet, by four corners, being let down out of heaven, and it came even unto me:
6 Te te ka hmaitang tih ka hmat hatah diklai rhamsa neh satlung khaw, rhulcai neh vaan kah vaa khaw ka hmuh.
Into which steadfastly looking, began to observe, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of heaven.
7 Te phoeiah ol ka yaak bal tih, 'Peter, thoo, ngawn lamtah ca,’a ti.
Moreover heard a voice also, saying unto me—Rise, Peter! slay and eat.
8 Tedae, 'Moenih boeipa, tanghnong tangaih neh rhalawt tah ka ka la a kun noek moenih,’ ka ti nah.
But I said—By no means, Lord, because, a common or unclean thing, hath at no time entered into my mouth.
9 Tedae vaan lamkah a pabae ol loh, 'Pathen loh a ciim tangtae te nang loh poeih boeh,’ a ti.
And a voice answered, a second time, out of heaven—What things, God, hath cleansed, be not, thou, making common.
10 Te tlam te a om phoeikah a pathum dongah tah vaan la boeih a doek koep.
And, this, took place thrice, —and the whole was drawn up again into heaven;
11 Te vaengah Kaiserea lamloh kai taengla han tueih hlang pathum tah ka om nah im ah pakcak ha pai uh pahoi.
And lo! immediately, three men halted at the house wherein we were, sent from Caesarea unto me.
12 Mueihla long khaw kai taengah, 'Boelhkhoeh kolla amih te puei laeh,’ a ti. Te dongah manuca parhuk he kamah neh kan lo puei tih hlang im khuila ka kun uh.
And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also; and we entered into the house of the man,
13 Anih long khaw a im ah a pai vaengah puencawn a hmuh tih, Joppa ah hlang tueih lamtah Peter la a khue Simon te tah laeh.
And he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, standing, and saying—Send away unto Joppa, and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
14 Anih loh nang taengkah a thui ol dongah namah neh na imko boeih khaw khang la na om ni,’ a ti nah te kaimih taengah ha puen bal.
Who shall speak words unto thee, whereby thou shall be saved, thou, and all thy house.
15 A cuek ca vaengkah mamih soah a tlak vanbangla thui hamla ka tong vaengah amih te Mueihla Cim loh a tlak thil coeng.
And, as I began to be speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as upon us also at the beginning.
16 Te vaengah Boeipa kah ol, 'Johan loh tui ah n'nuem. Tedae nangmih tah Mueihla Cim ah n'nuem ni,’ a ti te ka poek.
And I was put in mind of the word of the Lord, how he used to say—John, indeed, immersed with water; but, ye, shall be immersed in Holy Spirit.
17 Te dongah mamih van bangla Boeipa Jesuh Khrih dongah aka tangnah tah Pathen loh amih te vanat la kutdoe a paek atah kai metlam ka om tih Pathen te ka kang thai eh,” a ti.
If therefore the like free-gift God gave unto them, as even unto us, when we had believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who was, I, that could withstand God?
18 A yaak uh vaengah sap duem uh tih Pathen te a thangpom uh. Te dongah, “Hingnah ham yutnah te Pathen loh namtom taengah khaw a paek coeng,” a ti uh.
And, having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying—Hence, even unto the nations, God hath granted repentance unto life.
19 Phacip phabaem loh Stephen te a pai thil dongah amih khaw palang uh tih Phoiniki, Kupros neh Antiok la cet uh. Tedae Judah bueng pawt atah u taengah khaw ol thui uh pawh.
They, therefore, who had been scattered abroad by reason of the tribulation that took place on account of Stephen, passed through as far as Phoenice and Cyprus and Antioch, unto no one speaking the word, save alone unto Jews.
20 Te vaengah amih khuiah khaw Kuporos neh Kurena hlang rhoek khaw bet om van. Amih tah Antiok la cet uh tih Hellenist rhoek taengah khaw a thui uh vaengah Boeipa Jesuh ni a. thui uh.
And there were some from among them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who, indeed, coming unto Antioch, began speaking, even unto the Grecian Jews, announcing the glad tidings as to the Lord Jesus;
21 Amih te Boeipa kut loh a om puei dongah Boeipa taengla aka bal tih aka tangnah hlangmi long khaw ping uh.
And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number—they who believed—turned unto the Lord.
22 Amih kawng te Jerusalem kah aka om hlangboel kah a hna ah olthang la a yaak uh. Te dongah Antiok la caeh ham Barnabas te a tueih uh.
And the matter was reported in the hearing of the assembly that was in Jerusalem, concerning them; and they sent forth Barnabas, as far as Antioch;
23 Anih a pha vaengah Pathen kah lungvatnah aka hmuh rhoek tah omngaih uh tih thinko mangtaengnah he Boeipa dongah rhaeh rhong ham boeih thaphoh uh thae.
Who, arriving, and seeing the favour which was of God, rejoiced, and went on to beseech all, with the purpose of their heart, to abide [in] the Lord;
24 Anih te hlang then pakhat la om tih Mueihla Cim neh tangnah nen khaw baetawt. Te dongah hlangping loh Boeipa taengah muep tomthap la om.
Because he was a good man, and full of Holy Spirit and faith; and a considerable multitude were added unto the Lord.
25 Te phoeiah Saul tlap hamla Tarsus ah cet.
He went away, however, unto Tarsus, to seek up Saul;
26 A hmuh phoeiah Antiok la a khuen. A pha vaengah amih te kum khat puet hlangboel khuiah tingtun uh tih hlangping te yet te a thuituen. Te dongah hnukbang rhoek te Khrihca rhoek tila Antiok ah a khue lamhma cuek.
And, finding him, he brought him unto Antioch. And so it was with them, that, for a whole year, they were brought together in the assembly, and taught a considerable multitude; also that the disciples, first in Antioch, were called, Christians.
27 Te vaeng tue ah te tonghma rhoek tah Jerusalem lamkah Antiok la cet uh.
Now, in these days, there came down from Jerusalem, prophets, unto Antioch.
28 Te vaengah amih khuikah pakhat, a ming ah Agabus loh thoo tih lunglai pum ah om ham aka cai khokha tung te mueihla neh a phoe. Te te Klaudius tue vaengah thoeng coeng.
And one from among them, by name Agabus, rising up, gave a sign, through means of the Spirit, that, a great famine, was coming over all the inhabited earth; which, indeed, came to pass under Claudius.
29 Te dongah hnukbang rhoek tah pakhat rhip loh amah kah a noeng bangla Judea kah manuca khosa rhoek taengah bomnah pat ham a hmoel uh.
And, according as any one of the disciples was being prospered, they each one of them set apart [something] for ministering, to send unto the brethren, who dwelt in Jerusalem; —
30 Te tlam te a saii phoeiah Barnabas neh Sual kut ah patong rhoek taengla a pat uh.
Which thing they also did, sending it unto the Elders, through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
