< 2 Samuel 7 >
1 Manghai te amah im ah om tih kho a sak vaengah anih hamla a kaepvai kah a thunkha boeih te BOEIPA loh a duem sak.
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;
2 Te vaengah manghai loh tonghma Nathan taengah, “So lah, kamah tah lamphai im dongah kho ka sak coeng, tedae Pathen kah thingkawng tah himbaiyan khui ah sut ngol,” a ti nah.
That the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.
And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.
And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came to Nathan, saying,
5 “Cet lamtah ka sal David te thui pah. ‘BOEIPA loh, Ka om nah ham ka im te na sa aya?
Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me an house for me to dwell in?
Whereas I have not dwelled in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 Israel ca rhoek boeih te kho tom ah ka caeh puei. Olka nen khaw Israel koca pakhat khaw ka voek a?
In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spoke I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build you not me an house of cedar?
8 “Te dongah ka sal David te, ‘Caempuei rhoek kah BOEIPA loh, “Kai loh nang te boiva hnuk lamloh, tolkhoeng lamloh, ka pilnam soah neh Israel soah rhaengsang la om sak ham ni kan loh.
Now therefore so shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:
9 Kho tom ah na caeh te namah taengah ka om tih na mikhmuh lamkah na thunkha boeih te ka khoe coeng. Te dongah na ming te diklai hlanglen rhoek kah a ming bangla a tanglue la ka khueh ni.
And I was with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies out of your sight, and have made you a great name, like to the name of the great men that are in the earth.
Lamhma kah bangla anih phaep ham khaw dumlai koca rhoek loh koei uh mahpawh.
Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
BOEIPA te nang taengah a puen bangla BOEIPA loh nang ham im a thoh ni.
And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also the LORD tells you that he will make you an house.
And when your days be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, which shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
13 Ka ming ham te anih loh im a sak ni vetih a ram kah ngolkhoel te kumhal duela ka cikngae sak ni.
He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.
14 Kamah he a napa la ka om vetih, anih khaw ka ca la om ni. A paihaeh vaengah anih te hlang kah caitueng neh, Adam ca rhoek kah tlohtat neh ka tluung ni.
I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
15 Tedae ka sitlohnah he Saul taeng lamloh ka lat tih na mikhmuh lamloh ka khoe bangla anih taeng lamloh ka khoe mahpawh.
But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.
16 Na im neh na ram tah na mikhmuh ah kumhal duela cak vetih na ngolkhoel khaw kumhal due a cikngae la om ni,” a ti,’ ti nah,” a ti nah.
And your house and your kingdom shall be established for ever before you: your throne shall be established for ever.
17 He ol boeih he olphong boeih vanbangla Nathan loh David taengla a thui pah.
According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
18 Te dongah manghai David te kun tih, BOEIPA hmaiah ngol. Te phoeiah, “Ka Boeipa Yahovah aw Kai he unim? he duela kai nang khuen ham akhaw, kai imkhui he me tlam a om.
Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that you have brought me till now?
Ka Boeipa Yahovah aw hlang kah olkhueng he tah hlavak la om coeng.
And this was yet a small thing in your sight, O Lord GOD; but you have spoken also of your servant’s house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?
20 Namah taengah thui ham khaw David loh ba nen nim a thap khovoeh ve.
And what can David say more to you? for you, Lord GOD, know your servant.
For your word’s sake, and according to your own heart, have you done all these great things, to make your servant know them.
Why you are great, O LORD God: for there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
23 Diklai ah Israel bangla, na pilnam aka tluk namtu pakhat khaw unim aka om? Te tah a pilnam la lat ham neh amah ming la khueh ham Pathen cet coeng. Na lennah na saii ham dongah na khohmuen ham tah na pilnam mikhmuh ah rhih uh pai. Te tah namtom Egypt neh a pathen rhoek taeng lamloh namah hamla na lat.
And what one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for your land, before your people, which you redeemed to you from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
For you have confirmed to yourself your people Israel to be a people to you for ever: and you, LORD, are become their God.
25 BOEIPA Pathen aw na sal ham neh a imkhui ham ol na thui coeng. Na thui bangla kumhal duela thoh puei lamtah saii laeh.
And now, O LORD God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as you have said.
26 Te dongah BOEIPA Caempuei Pathen tah na ming kumhal duela len ti pai saeh. Israel so neh na sal David imkhui te na mikhmuh ah cikngae la a om thil ni.
And let your name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of your servant David be established before you.
27 Israel kah Caempuei Pathen BOEIPA namah loh na sal kah a hna te na hnacueh pah tih, ‘Nang hamla im ka sa ni,’ a ti. Te dongah ni na taengah hekah thangthuinah neh thangthui ham khaw na sal kah a lungbuei loh a hmuh.
For you, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, I will build you an house: therefore has your servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.
And now, O Lord GOD, you are that God, and your words be true, and you have promised this goodness to your servant:
29 Na sal imkhui te na mikhmuh ah kumhal om sak ham mulmet lamtah a yoethen sak. Ka Boeipa Yahovah na thui coeng dongah namah kah yoethennah neh na sal imkhui he kumhal duela a yoethen ni.”
Therefore now let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue for ever before you: for you, O Lord GOD, have spoken it: and with your blessing let the house of your servant be blessed for ever.
