< 2 Samuel 6 >
1 David loh hlang boeih a coi tih Israel khuikah Te thawng sawmthum a coelh.
And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.
2 Te phoeiah caempuei BOEIPA ming la a ming a khue tih a soah Cherub loh a ngol thil, Pathen thingkawng te te lamloh Baale-Judah la khuen ham David Te hlah uh tih amah taengkah pilnam te boeih a caeh puei.
Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.
3 Pathen thingkawng te leng a thai dongah a hol uh tih som kah Abinadab im lamloh a khuen uh. Te vaengah leng a thai te Abinadab capa Uzzah neh Ahio loh a hmaithawn.
So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.
4 Som kah Abinadab im lamloh Pathen thingkawng a khuen uh vaengah Te Ahio Te thingkawng hmai ah cet.
So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.
5 David neh Israel imkhui pum loh BOEIPA kah mikhmuh ah hmaical thing, rhotoeng, thangpa, kamrhing, tingkoei, tlaklak neh boeih luem uh.
And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.
6 Nakhawn a pha uh vaengah vaito loh a soek uh hatah Pathen kah thingkawng te Uzzah loh a cuk thil tih a tuuk.
And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.
7 Te vaengah BOEIPA kah a thintoek te vik sai. Te dongah Uzzah te Pathen loh pahoi a ngawn. A lolhnah a om dongah Pathen kah thingkawng taengah pahoi duek.
Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.
8 BOEIPA loh Uzzah puut te a va dongah David lungoe. Te dongah tekah hmuen te ti hnin due Perezuzzah la a khue.
And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.
9 Te khohnin vaengah David loh BOEIPA te a rhih coeng tih, “BOEIPA kah thingkawng loh kai taengah ha pawk thai aya?” a ti.
And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?
10 BOEIPA thingkawng te David khopuei ah amah taengla khuen ham David loh huem pawh. Tedae David loh Ghitti Obededom im la a thak.
So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.
11 BOEIPA thingkawng tah Ghitti Obededom im ah hla thum yalh. Te vaengah Obededom neh a imkhui pum Te BOEIPA loh yoe a then sak.
And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.
12 Te dongah manghai David taengla puen uh tih, “BOEIPA loh Pathen kah thingkawng kongah Obededom imkhui neh a taeng om boeih te yoe a then sak,” a ti nah. Te daengah David Te suntla tih Pathen thingkawng te Obededom im lamloh David Khopuei la kohoenah neh a khuen.
And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.
13 BOEIPA thingkawng aka kawt rhoekTe kan rhuk a kan phoeiah tah vaito a puetsuet te a ngawn thil.
And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.
14 David khaw a sarhi boeih neh BOEIPA mikhmuh ah lam. Te vaengah David loh takhlawk hnisui te a vah.
And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.
15 David neh Israel imkhui tom loh BOEIPA thingkawng te tamlung neh, tuki ol neh a caeh puei uh.
So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.
16 BOEIPA thingkawng Te David khopuei khuila a pawk vaengah Saul canu Mikhal loh bangbuet lamkah a dan. Te vaengah BOEIPA mikhmuh ah manghai David soipet tih a lam te a hmuh. Te dongah anih te a lungbuei khuiah a sawtsit.
Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.
17 BOEIPA thingkawng te David loh a tuk dap khui la a khuen uh tih amah hmuen ah a khueh uh. Te phoeiah hmueihhlutnah neh rhoepnah hmueihTe David loh BOEIPA mikhmuh ah a khuen.
So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.
18 Hmueihhlutnah neh rhoepnah hmueih a tloeng te a coeng phoeiah tah pilnam te David loh caempuei BOEIPA ming neh yoethen a paek.
And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.
19 Israel hlangping boeih khuikah pilnam boeih te huta khaw tongpa khaw, hlang pakhat rhip taengah, vaidam laep, buhham neh maehcaeng pakhat, yukhap rhip a tael. Te phoeiah pilnam boeih te amah im la boeih cet uh.
And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;
20 A imkhui te yoethen paek ham David a mael vaengah Saul canu Mikhal Te David doe ham ha thawn uh tih, “Israel manghai tihnin ah bahoeng a thangpom a! A salnu salpa mikhmuh ah tihnin ah a hni a pit he, a hong bangla a hni a pit khaw a pit rhoe he,” a ti nah.
and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?
21 David loh Mikhal te BOEIPA mikhmuh ah, “Kai he tah na pa lakah khaw, a imkhui boeih lamkah long khaw amah long ni n'tuek. Kai he BOEIPA kah pilnam so neh, Israel soah rhaengsang la ng'uen dongah BOEIPA mikhmuh ah ka luem ni ta.
And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;
22 He lakah muep ka tahoeng vetih ka mikhmuh ah tlarhoel la ka om ni. Tedae salnu na thui rhoek long te kai n'thangpom bitni,” a ti nah.
and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.
23 Te dongah Saul canu Mikhal tah a dueknah hnin hil a taengah camoe om pawh.
Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.
