Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron, saying, "Look, we are your bone and your flesh.

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. The LORD said to you, 'You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over Israel.'"
3 Israel patong boeih loh Hebron la manghai tea paanuh. Te vaengah manghai David loh amih te Hebron ah moia boh pah tih BOEIPA mikhmuh ah David te Israel sokah manghai laa koelhuh.
So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel.
4 David a manghai vaengah kum sawmthum lo ca coeng tih kum sawmli khuiah manghai van.
David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5 Hebron ah JudahTe kum rhih hla rhuka manghai thil tih Jerusalem ah Israel neh Judah pumTe kum sawmthum kum thuma manghai thil.
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
6 Manghai neh a hlang rhoek loh Jerusalem khohmuen khosa kung Jebusi tea caeh uh thil hatah David tea voek tih, “Hela na kun mahpawh, hela David kun boel saeh a ti coeng atah mikdael rhoek neh aka khaem rhoek long mah nang te n'haek thai,” a tinah.
Then the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who said to David, "You will not get in here." For the blind and the lame incited them, saying, "David can't get in here."
7 Tedae David loh Zion rhalvong David khopuei te vik a loh.
Nevertheless, David captured the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).

David lived in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And he built a city all around from the Millo and inward.

David grew greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts was with him.
11 Tyre manghai Khiram loh David taengla puencawna tueih tih lamphai thing, thing kutthai, pangbueng dongkah ham lungto kutthai neh David ham ima sakuh.
Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and craftsmen of wood, and craftsmen of a wall; and they built David a palace.
12 Israel sokah manghai la BOEIPA loh aniha thoh khaw, a pilnam Israel kong ah a rama phoh te khaw David loh a ming.
And David knew that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel's sake.
13 David loh yupuei yula muepa loh dongah Hebron lamkah Jerusalem la a pawk vaengah David ham capa neh canu khawka sak pauh.
David took more secondary wives and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were born to David more sons and daughters.
14 Jerusalem ah anih ham aka thaang rhoeka ming rhoek tah Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
These are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15 Ibhar, Elishua neh, Nepheg neh Japhia,
and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Eliphelet, and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16 Elishama, Eliada neh Eliphelet.
and Elishama, and Baaliada, and Eliphelet.
17 Israel sokah manghai la Davida koelh uh te Philisti rhoek loh a yaak uh vaengah David mae hamla Philisti rhoek boeih cetuh. Tedae David loh a yaak tih rhalvong la suntla thuk.
When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.
18 Te vaengah Philisti rhoek ha pawk uh tih Rapha kol ah khawk taaiuh.
Now the Philistines came and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim.
19 David loh BOEIPA tea dawt tih, “Philisti te ka paana yaa, amihTe ka kut dongah nan tloeng aya?” a ti nah hatah BOEIPA loh David te, “Cet! Philisti te na kut dongah kam paek rhoe kam paek ni,” a tinah.
So David inquired of the LORD, asking, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?" Then the LORD answered David, "Go up, for I will certainly deliver them into your hand."

So David came to Baal Perazim, and he defeated them there, and he said, "The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of waters." Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.

And they abandoned their idols there; and David and his men took them away.
22 Te phoeiaha rhaep la Philisti rhoek koep cet uh tih Rapha kol ah taaiuh.
The Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.
23 Te vaengah David loh BOEIPA tea dawt hatah, “Cet boeh, a hnuk longah vael lamtah, amih te tikti rhaldan ah khoep cuuk.
And David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD said to him, "You shall not go up. Circle around behind them, and attack them opposite the poplar trees.
24 Tikti soi ah haeksak ol na yaak la, na yaak coeng atah cuuk thil laeh. Philisti lambong tloek hamTe na hmaiah BOEIPA cet coeng,” a tinah.
And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, that then you are to act decisively; for then the LORD has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."
25 BOEIPA loh amaha uen bangla David loh a saii tih Philisti tea tloek tih Geba lamloh Gezer la pawk.
And David did as the LORD commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gibeon all the way to Gezer.
