2 Samuel 4
1 Hebron ah Abner a duek te Saul capa loh a yaak vaengah a kut la sut kha tih Israel rhoek khaw boeih let uh.
Now, when Ish-bosheth son of Saul heard that Abner had died in Hebron, his hands became feeble, —and, all Israel, were dismayed.
2 Saul capa he hlang panit caem mangpa la om rhoi. Pakhat ming tah Baanah tih a pabae ming tah Benjamin koca lamkah Beeroth Rimmon capa Rekhab ni. Te vaengah Beeroth khaw Benjamin la a tae thil coeng.
And two men, captains of bands, pertained to Ish-bosheth son of Saul—the name of the one, was Baanah, and, the name of the other, Rechab—sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the sons of Benjamin, —for, even Beeroth, used to be reckoned unto Benjamin;
3 Tedae Beeroth te Gatayim la yong tih a om coeng dongah tihnin due pahoi bakuep.
and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, —and have been sojourners there, until this day.
4 Te vaengah Saul capa Jonathan kah a ca tongpa kho khaem tah kum nga lo ca coeng. Jezreel lamkah Saul neh Jonathan kah olthang a pawk vaengah anih aka poeh loh anih te a poeh tih a rhaelrham puei. Tedae a rhaelrham hamla a tamto dongah a paloe puei tih vik khaem. Anih ming tah Mephibosheth ni.
And, Jonathan, son of Saul, had a son, lame of his feet, —five years old, was he, when tidings came in of Saul and Jonathan from Jezreel, so his nurse took him up, and fled, and it came to pass, when she started up to flee, that he fell and was lamed, and, his name, was, Mephibosheth.
5 Beeroth Rimmon capa Rekhab neh Baanah Te cet rhoi tih khothun kholing ah Ishbosheth im la pawk rhoi. Te vaengah Isboeseth Te imphu kah thingkong dongah ana yalh.
So then the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, took their journey and came in, about the heat of the day, unto the house of Ish-bosheth, —when, he, was lying on his noonday couch;

and, thither, entered they as fro as the middle of the house, to fetch wheat, and they smote him in the belly, —and, Rechab and Baanah his brother, escaped.
7 Im a pha rhoi vaengah Ishbosheth tah imhman thingkong dongkah baiphaih dongah yalh. Te dongah anih te a ngawn rhoi tih a duek sak phoeiah a lu te a rhaih pah rhoi. Anih lu te a khuen rhoi tih khoyin khing Arabah long ah cet rhoi.
Thus they entered the house when, he, was lying on his bed, in his sleeping-chamber, and smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, —and took his head, and journeyed by way of the waste plain all the night;
8 Ishbosheth lu te Hebron kah David taengla a pawk puei rhoi tih manghai te, “Na thunkha Saul capa Ishbosheth kah a lu he. Anih loh na hinglu a mae dae BOEIPA loh ka boeipa manghai taengah hang khueh coeng. Tawnlohnah tah tihnin ah Saul so neh a tiingan soah pai coeng he,” a ti rhoi.
and brought in the head of Ish-bosheth unto David, at Hebron, and said unto the king, Lo! the head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, thine enemy, who sought thy life: so hath Yahweh given to my lord the king, avengement this day, on Saul and on his seed.
9 Tedae David loh Beeroth Rimmon capa Rekhab neh a mana Baanah te a doo tih, “BOEIPA kah hingnah dongah ka hinglu he citcai cungkuem lamkah aka lat,
Then David responded to Rechab and Baanah his brother, sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, —By the life of Yahweh, who hath redeemed my soul out of all distress,
10 Saul a duek tarha vaengah kai taengla ha puen tih a thui Te amah mikhmuh neh aka phong bangla om. Tedae anih kah olthangthen ka thuung ham te amah ni ka tuuk tih Ziklag ah ka ngawn.
when he that brought tidings to me, saying, Lo! Saul is dead, though, he, was as one that bringeth good tidings, in his own eyes, yet I seized him, and slew him in Ziklag, —which was how I gave him reward for his tidings:
11 Hlang dueng, a im kah thingkong dongkah mai aka ngawn hlang rhoi he halang rhoi coeng. A thii te na kut dong lamloh ka suk vetih diklai lamloh nangmih rhoi te kang khoe pawn mahpawt nim?,” a ti nah.
how much more, when, lawless men, have slain a righteous person, in his own house, upon his bed? …Now, therefore, must I not require his blood at your hands, and so consume you, out of the earth?
12 David loh tueihyoeih rhoek te a uen tih amih rhoi te a ngawn uh. A kut a kho te a tlueh pa tih Hebron tuibuem ah a hoei uh. Tedae Ishbosheth kah a lu te tah a khuen uh tih Hebron kah Abner phuel ah a up uh.
David therefore commanded the young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands, and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool, in Hebron, —but, the head of Ish-bosheth, took they, and buried in the grave of Abner, in Hebron.
