1 Jerusalem khosa rhoek loh Jehoram capa a noe Ahaziah te anih yueng la a manghai sakuh. Lamhma rhoek te tah rhaehhmuen la Arab rhoek neh aka kun caem loh boeih a ngawn. Te dongah Judah manghai Jehoram capa Ahaziah te manghai.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king, in his stead, for, all the elder sons, had the band of men slain who came in with the Arabians into the camp, —so Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
2 Ahaziah te sawmli kum nit a lo ca vaengah manghai tih Jerusalem ah kum at manghai. A manu ming tah Omri canu Athaliah ni.
Forty-two years old, was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and, one year, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and, the name of his mother, was Athaliah, daughter of Omri.
3 A manu tah anih poehlip sak ham aka uenkung la a om dongah anih khaw Ahab imkhui kah longpuei ah ni a. pongpa.
He too, walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, —for, his mother, became his counselor, to work lawlessness.
4 Ahab imkhui bangla BOEIPA mikhmuh ah boethae a saii. Amih te a napa a dueknah hnukah tah anih te kutcaihnah ham anih aka uenkung la om uh.
Wherefore he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, like the house of Ahab, —for, they, became his counselors, after the death of his father, to his destruction.
5 Amih kah cilsuep te a vai van dongah Ramothgilead kah Aram manghai Hazael taengah caemtloek hamla Israel manghai Ahab capa Jehoram te a caeh puei dae Arammi rhoek loh Joram te a ngawn uh.
Even in their counsel, he walked, and went with Jehoram son of Ahab king of Israel, to war against Hazael king of Syria, in Ramoth-gilead, —and the Syrians smote Joram.
6 Te dongah hmasoe lamloh hoeih hamla Jezreel la mael. Te khaw Aram manghai Hazael te a vathoh vaengah ni anih te Ramah ah a ngawn uh. Te dongah Judah manghai Jehoram capa Azariah tah Ahab capa Jehoram a tloh te sawt hamla Jezreel la suntla.
And he returned to be healed in Jezreel, because of the wounds wherewith they smote him in Ramah, when he fought with Hazael, king of Syria, —and, Azariah son of Jehoram king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram son of Ahab in Jezreel, because, sick, was he!
7 Joram taengla a pawk te Pathen taeng lamloh Ahaziah kah cungkunah a om pah tih a pha neh Nimshi capa Jehu taengla Jehoram te a khuen. Anih te Ahab imkhui saii sak hamla BOEIPA loh a koelh.
But, from God, came the downfall of Azariah, through his coming to Joram, —and because, through his coming, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
8 Jehu loh Ahab imkhui ah lai a tloek van vaengah tah Judah mangpa rhoek neh Ahaziah taengla aka thotat Ahaziah kah paca boeina te a hmuh uh tih amih te a ngawn.
And so it came to pass, when Jehu was executing judgment upon the house of Ahab, —and found the rulers of Judah and the sons of the brethren of Ahaziah ministering to Ahaziah, that he slew them.
9 Ahaziah te a tlap uh dae Samaria ah a thuh vaengah anih te a tuuk uh. Te phoeiah anih te Jehu taengla a khuen tih a duek sak uh phoeiah a up uh. Te vaengah, “Anih he a thinko boeih neh BOEIPA aka toem Jehoshaphat capa ni,” a ti uh. Te dongah Ahaziah imkhui kah thadueng pakhat khaw ram hamla a nuen moenih.
And he sought Ahaziah, and they captured him, he, having hid himself in Samaria, and they brought him unto Jehu, and he put him to death, and they buried him, because, said they, he is, the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought Yahweh with all his heart, —and, no one of the house of Ahaziah, had ability for the kingdom.
10 Ahaziah manu Athaliah loh a capa a duek te a hmuh vaengah tah thoo tih ram kah tiingan boeih te Judah imkhui ah a thui.
But, when, Athaliah mother of Ahaziah, saw that her son was dead, she rose up and destroyed all the seed royal of the house of Judah.
11 Tedae Joash capa Ahaziah te manghai canu Jehoshabeath loh a loh. Anih te a ngawn uh manghai koca rhoek lakli lamloh a huen tih baiphaih imkhui ah a cakhoem neh anih te a khueh. Anih te khosoih Jehoiada yuu, manghai Jehoram canu Jehoshabeath loh a thuh. Anih te Athaliah mikhmuh lamkah tah Ahaziah ngannu la a om dongah anih te duek sak pawh.
But Jehoshabeath, daughter of the king, took Joash son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the sons of the king who were being slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber, —so Jehoshabeath daughter of King Jehoram—wife of Jehoiada the priest, for, she, was the sister of Ahaziah—hid him from the face of Athaliah so that she slew him not.
12 Athaliah loh khohmuen a manghai thil vaengah amih neh Pathen im ah om tih kum rhuk thuh uh.
And it came to pass that he was with them, in the house of God, hidden six years, -while, Athaliah, was reigning over the land.
