< 1 Samuel 20 >
1 David te Ramah kah Naioth lamloh yong tih Jonathan taenglaa pha vaengah, “Balae ka saii tih kai kathaesainah he balae? Na pa mikhmuh ah kai kah mebang tholhnah lae aka om tih ka hinglu hea tlap,” a ti nah.
And he fled David (from Naioth *Q(k)*) in Ramah and he went and he said - before Jonathan what? have I done what? [is] iniquity my and what? [is] sin my before father your that [is] seeking life my.
2 Te dongah Jonathan loh, “Savisava la, na duek mahpawh, kai hna ah ham phoe pawt atah hno yit, hno len akhaw a pa loh saii rhoe saii pawt oe. Tahae kah olka he balae tih a pa loh kai taeng lamloha thuh, hekah he a hong pawt nim,” a ti nah.
And he said to him far be it not you will die here! (not he does *Q(K)*) father my anything great or anything small and not he uncovers ear my and why? will he hide father my from me the thing this there not [is] this.
3 Tedae David loh koepa toem a ngam tih, “Na mikhmuh ah mikdaithen ka dang te na pa loh a ming rhoe a ming ta, Jonathana ming sak pawt he a kothae ve a ti dongah ni. BOEIPA kah hingnah rhangneh na hinglu khaw hingnah om dae kai laklo neh dueknah laklo he khokan kan at mai ni,” a ti nah.
And he swore an oath again David and he said certainly he knows father your that I have found favor in view your and he has said may not he know this Jonathan lest he should be grieved and but [by] [the] life of Yahweh and [by] [the] life of self your for about a step between me and between death.
4 Jonathan loh David te, “Mebang khaw na hinglu te dawt uh lamtah nang ham kan saii eh?,” a ti nah.
And he said Jonathan to David whatever it will say self your so I may do for you.
5 Te dongah David loh Jonathan taengah, “Thangvuen he hlasae coeng ni ne, kai tah buh ca la manghai taengah ka ngol rhoe ka ngol ham om. Tedae kai n'tueih lamtaha thum hlaem duela kohong ah ka thuh uh mai eh.
And he said David to Jonathan here! a new moon [will be] tomorrow and I certainly I will sit with the king to eat and you will let go me and I will hide myself in the field until the evening third.
6 Na pa loh kai hah n'toem tih, “David te a cako boeih ham hmueih tue a om dongah amah kho Bethlehem la yong ham kai taengah n'dawt tih a bih,” ti nah.
Certainly [if] he will miss me father your and you will say certainly he asked for himself from me David to run Beth-lehem city his for [the] sacrifice of the days [is] there for all the clan.
7 Tete thena ti atah na sal he sading la om ni. Tedae anih te sai la sai mai koinih anih te yoethaenah neh rhoeh coeng tila ming laeh.
If thus he will say good safety [belongs] to servant your and if certainly it will burn to him know that it has been determined harm from with him.
8 Tedae BOEIPA kah paipi rhangneh na sal taengah sitlohnah khueh mai. Na sal he namah taengla khuen mai. Thaesainah he ni ka khuiaha om atah kai he namah loh n'duek sak, bahamlae na pa taengla kai nan thak eh?,” a ti nah.
And you will do covenant loyalty towards servant your for in [the] covenant of Yahweh you have brought servant your with you and if there in me [is] iniquity put to death me you and to father your why? this will you bring me.
9 Jonathan loh, “Nang nen tah savisava, a pa loh boethae neh a hah te ka ming la ka ming atah nang taengla pahoi ka pawk tih namah taengah ka puen moenih a,” a ti nah.
And he said Jonathan far be it to you that - if ever I will know that it has been determined harm from with father my to come on you and not it will I tell to you.
10 David loh Jonathan te, “Na pa loh namah te mangkhak la m'voek koinih ulae kai taengla aka puen eh?,” a ti nah.
And he said David to Jonathan who? will he tell to me or what? will he answer you father your hard.
11 Te dongah David te Jonathan loh, “Ceh, kohong la cet sih,” a ti nah tih kohong la bok cet rhoi.
And he said Jonathan to David come! so we may go out the field and they went out [the] two of them the field.
12 Te vaengah Jonathan loh David te, “Israel Pathen BOEIPA rhangneh thangvuena thum hnin ah a pa te rhep ka khe lah eh. Te vaengah David hama then neh a then pawt khaw nang taengla kan tah vetih na hna kan cah bitni.
And he said Jonathan to David Yahweh [the] God of Israel that I will sound out father my about this time - tomorrow the third and there! good [is] to David and not? then will I send to you and I will uncover ear your.
13 Jonathan taengah he BOEIPA loh han saii saeh lamtah hang khoep nawn saeh. Nang taengah boethae ham te a pa loh a hue oeh atah na hna ah kan yaak sak vetih namah taengah ol kan tah bitni. Te vaengah sading la na cet bitni. A pa taengaha om bangla nang taengah khaw BOEIPA om saeh.
Thus may he do Yahweh to Jonathan and thus may he add if it will make good to father my harm on you and I will uncover ear your and I will send away you and you will go to peace and may he be Yahweh with you just as he has been with father my.
14 Tedae kai he phat ka hing pawt atah BOEIPA kah sitlohnah te kai taengah saii boeh. Tedae kai ka duek vailaih moenih.
And not if still I [am] alive and not you will do with me [the] covenant loyalty of Yahweh and not I will die.
15 Na sitlohnah te ka imkhui dong lamloh kumhal duela haih boeh. BOEIPA loh David kah thunkha rhoek te diklai hman kah hlang lamloha haih vaengah pataeng haih boel saeh,” a ti nah.
And not you must cut off covenant loyalty your from with house my until perpetuity and not when cuts off Yahweh [the] enemies of David everyone from on [the] surface of the earth.
16 Te phoeiah Jonathan loh David imkhui neh paipi a saii tih, “Thunkha kut lamkah David te BOEIPA loh toem nawn saeh,” a ti.
And he made Jonathan with [the] house of David and he will require Yahweh from [the] hand of [the] enemies of David.
17 David taengah a khueh lungnah tetah amah hinglu a lungnah vaengkah lungnah la a om dongah Jonathan loh koep a rhaep tih ol a caeng.
And he repeated Jonathan to make swear an oath David in love his him for [the] love of own self his he loved him.
18 Te dongah Jonathan loh, “Thangvuen he hlasae la om tih na ngolhmuen tah hoeng vetih n'toem pawn ni.
And he said to him Jonathan [will be] tomorrow a new moon and you will be missed if it will be empty seat your.
19 A thum hnin ah koe suntla lamtah na thuh hmuen la ana cet. Te vaengah hnin kah bibi neh Ezel lungto taengah ana om ne.
And you will do three times you will come down exceedingly and you will come to the place where you hid yourself there on [the] day of the deed and you will stay beside the stone Ezel.
20 Te vaengah kai loh thaltang pathum te a hael kah ka kutnoek dongah kah hamla kan thuinuet bitni.
And I [the] three the arrows [its] side I will shoot to send [them] for myself to a target.
21 Te phoeiah cet vetih thaltang aka so ham camoe kan tueih ni ne. Camoe te, “Na taengkah thaltang rhoek te hela hang khuen,” ka ti la ka ti coeng atah ha mop phai laeh. BOEIPA kah hingnah dongah nang ham sadingnah la om vetih olka la om mahpawh.
And there! I will send the lad go find the arrows certainly [if] I will say to the lad there! the arrows - [are] from you and hither fetch it - and come! for safety [belongs] to you and there not [is] anything [by] [the] life of Yahweh.
22 Tedae camoe te, “Na taengkah thaltang te voelh caeh tak,” ka ti atah BOEIPA long ni nang n'tueih coeng.
And if thus I will say to the young man there! the arrows [are] from you and beyond go for he has sent away you Yahweh.
23 Tahae ah nang neh kai loh olka n'thui vanbangla kai laklo neh nang laklo ah kumhal duela BOEIPA om coeng ne,” a ti nah.
And the matter which we have spoken I and you here! Yahweh [will be] between me and between you until perpetuity.
24 Te dongah David tah kohong la thuh uh. Hlasaea pha vaengah buh ca la buh kungah manghai ngol.
And he hid himself David in the field and it was the new moon and he sat down the king (to *Q(K)*) the food to eat.
25 A noek noek kah bangla amah ngolhmuen, pangbueng taengkah ngolhmuen dongah manghai te ngol. Te phoeiah Jonathan te thoo tih Saul kaep ah Abner ngol. Tedae David kah a hmuen tah vik hoeng.
And he sat down the king on seat his as time - on time to [the] seat of the wall and he arose Jonathan and he sat down Abner from [the] side of Saul and it was empty [the] place of David.
26 Te vaengah a hmuet a hma te cim caih pawha ti dongah tekah khohnin ah tah Saul he kamat khaw cal pawh.
And not he spoke Saul anything on the day that for he said [is] an accident it not [is] clean he for not clean.
27 Tedae hlasae vuena pha vaengah tah David kah a hmuen te a pabae la hoeng bal. Te dongah Saul loh a capa Jonathan taengah, “Jesse capa he balae tih hlaem ah khaw, tihnin ah khaw buh kung la ha mop pawh,” a ti nah.
And it was from [the] next day of the new moon second and it was empty [the] place of David. And he said Saul to Jonathan son his why? not has he come [the] son of Jesse both yesterday as well as this day to the food.
28 Te dongah Jonathan loh Saul te, “Bethlehem la caeh ham te David loh kai taengaha bih ngawn tah a bih.
And he answered Jonathan Saul certainly he asked for himself David from with me to Beth-lehem.
29 Te vaengah, 'Kho khuiah kaimih cako kah hmueih a om dongah kai khaw ka mop vetih ka maya ka uen dae ni. Na mikhmuh ah mikdaithen ni ka dang van coeng atah ka poeng ka hal mai saeh lamtah ka manuca rhoek te ka hmu mai eh,’ a ti. Te dongah ni manghai kah caboei taengla ha mop pawh,” a ti nah.
And he said let go me please for a sacrifice of [the] clan [belongs] to us in the city and he he has commanded to me brother my and therefore if I have found favor in view your let me slip away please so I may see brothers my there-fore not he has come to [the] table of the king.
30 Te vaengah Saul kah a thintoek loh Jonathan taengah sai tih, “Boekoek paihaeh capa, namah kah yahpohnah ham neh na nu kah a yah te yahpohnah ham Jesse capa taengah na kaibaeng te ka ming moenih a?
And it burned [the] anger of Saul on Jonathan and he said to him O son of perverse [woman] of rebelliousness ¿ not do I know that [are] choosing you [the] son of Jesse to own shame your and to [the] shame of [the] nakedness of mother your.
31 Jesse capa te diklai aha hing khuiah namah khaw na ram na thoh thai mahpawh. Te dongah anih te ol tah lamkah kai taengla hang khuen, amah te duek ca kangna saeh,” a ti nah.
For all the days which [the] son of Jesse he lives on the earth not you will be established you and kingdom your and therefore send and fetch him to me for [is] a son of death he.
32 Tedae Jonathan loh a napa Saul tea doo tih, “Balae tih anih tea duek eh? Balaea saii tih?,” a ti nah.
And he answered Jonathan Saul father his and he said to him why? will he be put to death what? has he done.
33 Te vaengah anih ngawn hamla Saul loh a taengkah caai neh a khoh. Te daengah David duek sak ham a napa loh a taeng te Jonathan loh a ming.
And he threw Saul the spear on him to strike him and he knew Jonathan that it had been determined it from with father his to kill David.
34 Te dongah Jonathan khaw caboei dong lamloh thintoek thinling neh thoo tih hlasaea pabae khohnin kah buh te ca pawh. David hama kothae tih a napa ham a hmaithae.
And he arose Jonathan from with the table in [the] heat of anger and not he ate on [the] day of the new moon second food for he was grieved concerning David for he had put to shame him father his.
35 David kah tingtunnah ham mincanga pha vaengah Jonathan tah amah taengkah cadong ca neh kohong la cet.
And it was in the morning and he went out Jonathan the field to [the] appointed time of David and a lad small [was] with him.
36 Te vaengah a taengkah cadong te, “Yong lamtah kai loh thaltang kan thuinuet te so laeh,” a ti nah. Camoe te a yong phai vaengah amaha thuinuet palaa tea poeng.
And he said to lad his run find please the arrows which I [am] about to shoot the lad he ran and he he shot the arrow to make [it] pass beyond him.
37 Jonathan kah palaaa thuinuet nah hmuen te camoe loh a pha vaengah, Jonathan loh camoe tea hnuk longah a khue tih, “Nang taengah palaa om pawt tih voelh cet coeng nama?,” a ti nah.
And he came the lad to [the] place of the arrow which he had shot Jonathan and he called out Jonathan after the lad and he said ¿ not [is] the arrow from you and beyond.
38 Te phoeiah Jonathan loh cadong tea hnuk longah, “A loe la tawn uh latam pai boeh,” a ti nah. Te dongah palaa thaltang te Jonathan kah camoe loh a rhuh tih a boei taengla ha pawk.
And he called out Jonathan after the lad quickly make haste! may not you delay and he picked up [the] lad of Jonathan (the arrows *Q(K)*) and he came to master his.
39 Te vaengkah olka te Jonathan neh David bueng loh a ming dae camoe longtah pakhat khaw ming pawh.
And the lad not he knew anything only Jonathan and David they knew the matter.
40 A hno a pai te Jonathan loh amah taengkah camoe taenglaa paek tih, “Cet lamtah khopuei khuila khuen laeh,” a ti nah.
And he gave Jonathan weapons his to the lad who [belonged] to him and he said to him go take [them] the city.
41 Camoea khum neh David te tuithim ben lamkah ha moe. Te vaengah a tal neh diklai la bakop tih voei thuma bawk. Pakhat loh a hui patoeng a mok uh rhoi vaengah pakhat loh a hui patoeng taengah rhap rhoi tih David te nah.
The lad he went and David he arose from beside the south and he fell to face his [the] ground towards and he bowed down three times and they kissed - each friend his and they wept for each friend his until David he did great things.
42 Te phoeiah David te Jonathan loh, “BOEIPA ming neh mamih rhoi loh n'toemngam tih, 'Kai laklo neh nang laklo ah, kai tiingan laklo neh nang kah tiingan laklo ah kumhal duela BOEIPA om,’ n'ti dongah ngaimong la cet ne,” a ti nah.
And he said Jonathan to David go to peace that we have sworn an oath [the] two of us we by [the] name of Yahweh saying Yahweh he will be - between me and between you and between offspring my and between offspring your until perpetuity. And he arose and he went and Jonathan he went the city.
