1 Israel ca rhoek Egypt kho lamloh a coe uh te kum ya li neh kum sawmrhet dongah om coeng. Israel soah Solomon a manghai nah a kum li, a hla bae, Ziv hla vaengah BOEIPA im te a sak uh.
In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the LORD’s house.
2 Solomon manghai loh BOEIPA ham im te a yun dong sawmrhuk, a daang dong kul, a sang dong sawmthum la a sak.
The house which King Solomon built for the LORD had a length of sixty cubits, and its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits.
3 Bawkim im hmai kah ngalha he im hmai kah a daang neh a yun dong kul lo. Im hmai bueng kah a daang dong rha lo.
The porch in front of the temple of the house had a length of twenty cubits, which was along the width of the house. Ten cubits was its width in front of the house.
4 Im kah khohue bangbuet tah a caek la a saii.
He made windows of fixed lattice work for the house.
5 Im kah pangbueng taengah rhaenghmuen a sak tih, rhaenghmuen te bawkim kaepvai kah im pangbueng dongah pin om. Te phoeiah cangimphu neh impalai khaw pin a saii.
Against the wall of the house, he built floors all around, against the walls of the house all around, both of the temple and of the inner sanctuary; and he made side rooms all around.
6 Rhaenghmuen khaw a hmui kah rhaenghmuen tah a daang dong nga, a bangli ah a daang dong rhuk, a than thum ah a daang dong rhih lo. Im kah pangbueng khuila nen pawt ham im kah vongvoel ah amtloeng pin a khueh.
The lowest floor was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around, that the beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.
7 Im a sak vaengah lungsong lung a hmabuet neh a sak. Thilung khaw, hai khaw, thi dongkah hnopai boeih te tah im a sak vaengah nuen sak pawh.
The house, when it was under construction, was built of stone prepared at the quarry; and no hammer or ax or any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was under construction.
8 Im bantang hael kah a bangli ah impalai thohka om. Te vaengah khenden khuihlak lamloh a bangli la, a bangli lamloh a than thum la luei uh.
The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house. They went up by winding stairs into the middle floor, and out of the middle into the third.
9 Im te a sak tangloeng tih a coeng nen tah im kah te tlueng neh, lamphai thingphael neh a khop.
So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.
10 Rhaenghmuen te im pum ah a sang dong nga la a sak tih im te lamphai thing neh a tuuk sak.
He built the floors all along the house, each five cubits high; and they rested on the house with timbers of cedar.
11 Te vaengah BOEIPA ol te Solomon taengla ha pawk tih,
The LORD’s word came to Solomon, saying,
12 Im he na sak vanbangla, ka khosing dongah na pongpa tih ka laitloeknah he na vai atah, kai kah olpaek cungkuem dongah pongpa ham ngaithuen van. Te daengah ni na pa David taengah ka thui bangla ka ol he nang lamloh a thoh eh.
“Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
13 Israel ca lakli ah kho ka sak vetih ka pilnam Israel te ka hnoo mahpawh,” a ti nah.
I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.”
14 Te tlam te Solomon loh im a sak tih a coeng.
So Solomon built the house and finished it.
15 Im kah pangbueng te a thung vaengah imkhui te lamphai thingphael neh a thung. Im kah cirhong lamloh bangyai pangbueng hil kah imkhui te thing a ben. Im cirhong te hmaical thingphael neh a ci.
He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood. He covered the floor of the house with cypress boards.
16 Im bawtnah lamloh khat ben a bawtnah hil te dong kul a khueh. Cirhong lamloh pangbueng hil te lamphai thingphael neh a saii. Te vaengah im khui ham khaw, cangimphu ham khaw, hmuencim kah hmuencim ham khaw a saii.
He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.
17 Te vaengah im hmai kah bawkim mah dong sawmli lo coeng.
In front of the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.
18 Im khui kah lamphai te a khuiah padae muei bangla a thuk. Lamphai boeih te tamlaep bangla a phuelh sak dongah lungto tueng voel pawh.
There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers. All was cedar. No stone was visible.
19 Im khui kah cangimphu te khaw a khuiah BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng khueh pahoi ham a rhoekbah.
He prepared an inner sanctuary in the middle of the house within, to set the ark of the LORD’s covenant there.
20 Cangimphu te a hmai ah a yun dong kul, a daang dong kul, a sang dong kul lo. Te te sui cilh a ben thil tih lamphai hmueihtuk khaw a ben thil.
Within the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in its height. He overlaid it with pure gold. He covered the altar with cedar.
21 Solomon loh im te a khui ah sui cilh neh a ben thil tih cangimphu hmai kah khotawt te sui rhui neh a kha. Te khaw sui a ben thil.
So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold. He drew chains of gold across before the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.
22 Im pum a coeng hil ah im pum te sui a ben. Cangimphu dongkah hmueihtuk pum te khaw sui a ben.
He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. He also overlaid the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary with gold.
23 Cangimphu khuikah cherubim rhoi te situi thing neh a sang dong rha la a saii.
In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
24 Cherubim lamhma kah a phae vang dong nga lo tih cherubim pabae kah a phae khaw dong nga lo. Te dongah a phae hmoi pakhat lamloh a phae hmoi pakhat hil he dong rha lo.
Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits was the length of the other wing of the cherub. From the tip of one wing to the tip of the other was ten cubits.
25 Cherubim a pabae te dong rha lo tih cherubim rhoi te cungnueh pakhat, a suisak pakhat la om.
The other cherub was ten cubits. Both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.
26 Lamhma kah cherubim khaw, a pabae kah cherubim khaw a sang dong rha lo tangloeng.
One cherub was ten cubits high, and so was the other cherub.
27 Cherubim te im khuikah a laklung ah a khueh. Cherubim a phae te a phuel vaengah pakhat kah a phae loh pangbueng te a ben tih, a pabae cherubim kah a phae long khaw khatben kah pangbueng te a ben. Im laklung kah a phae rhoi khaw a phae neh a phae te ben uh rhoi.
He set the cherubim within the inner house. The wings of the cherubim were stretched out, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house.
28 Cherubim te khaw sui a ben.
He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
29 Im kah pangbueng phai boeih te cherubim muei neh rhophoe muei neh thingthuk a bang pah tih a khui ah khaw poengben ah khaw rhaipai phuelh.
He carved all the walls of the house around with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inside and outside.
30 Im kah cirhong te a khui ah khaw, poeng ah khaw sui a ben.
He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inside and outside.
31 Cangimphu thohka kah thohkhaih te situi thing a saii tih ngalha neh rhungsut he a vae panga aka om rhungsut ngalha la a saii.
For the entrance of the inner sanctuary, he made doors of olive wood. The lintel and door posts were a fifth part of the wall.
32 Situi thing thohkhaih rhoi khaw a soah cherubim, rhophoe neh rhai phuelh muei te a thuk tih sui a ben. Sui te cherubim so neh rhophoe soah khaw a hnaa.
So he made two doors of olive wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold. He spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
33 Bawkim thohka ham rhungsut tah situi thing neh a vae pali la a saii bal.
He also made the entrance of the temple door posts of olive wood, out of a fourth part of the wall,
34 Hmaical thing thohkhaih rhoi te khaw thohkhaih pakhat dongah thingphael panit neh thohhna, a pabae kah thohkhaih dongah khaw imbang panit neh thohhna om.
and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
35 Cherubim, rhophoe neh rhai phuelh khaw a thuk bal tih a vuel soah sui neh buelh a ben.
He carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted on the engraved work.
36 A khui kah vongup te lungrhaih than thum, lamphai thingsuih than at neh a sak.
He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and a course of cedar beams.
37 A kum li dongkah Ziv hla ah BOEIPA im te a toong.
The foundation of the LORD’s house was laid in the fourth year, in the month Ziv.
38 Kum hlai khat dongkah a hla rhet nah Bul hla dongah tah im te a ol cungkuem neh, a laitloeknah dongkah laitloeknah cungkuem vanbangla a coeng tih te te kum rhih a sak.
In the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its specifications. So he spent seven years building it.
