< 1 Khokhuen 15 >
1 Amah ham im te David khopuei ah a sak. Pathen thingkawng ham hmuen a saelh tih te ham te dap a tuk pah.
David made himself houses in David’s city; and he prepared a place for God’s ark, and pitched a tent for it.
2 David loh, “Levi bueng pawt atah Pathen kah thingkawng te koh ham moenih. Amih tah BOEIPA kah thingkawng aka kawt ham neh kumhal due amah taengah aka thotat ham BOEIPA loh a coelh coeng,” a ti.
Then David said, “No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For the LORD has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”
3 Te phoeiah BOEIPA thingkawng te a saelh pah a hmuen la khuen ham David loh Israel pum te Jerusalem ah a tingtun sak.
David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the LORD’s ark to its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 Te vaengah David loh Aaron neh Levi koca te a coi.
David gathered together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5 Kohath koca lamloh mangpa Uriel neh a manuca he ya pakul.
of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred and twenty;
6 Merari koca lamloh mangpa Asaiah neh a manuca yahnih pakul.
of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred and twenty;
7 Gershom koca lamloh mangpa Joel neh a manuca ya sawmthum.
of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred and thirty;
8 Elizaphan koca lamloh mangpa Shemaiah neh a manuca yahnih.
of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
9 Hebron koca lamloh mangpa Eliel neh a manuca sawmrhet.
of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;
10 Uzziel koca lamloh mangpa Amminadab neh a manuca ya hlai nit.
of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the chief, and his brothers one hundred and twelve.
11 David loh khosoih Zadok neh Abiathar te khaw, Levi, Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, Amminadab te khaw a khue.
David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites: for Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 Te vaengah amih te, “Nangmih tah Levi napa rhoek kah a lu rhoek ni. Namamih neh na manuca rhoek khaw ciim uh lamtah Israel Pathen BOEIPA kah thingkawng te ka saelh nah la khuen uh.
and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers’ households of the Levites. Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, up to the place that I have prepared for it.
13 Balae tih lamhma vaengah na om uh pawh. Laitloeknah bangla amah te n'toem uh pawt dongah mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA tah mamih taeng lamloh pung coeng,” a ti nah.
For because you didn’t carry it at first, the LORD our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
14 Te dongah Israel Pathen BOEIPA kah thingkawng koh ham te khosoih rhoek neh Levi rhoek tah ciim uh.
So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15 Te dongah Pathen thingkawng te Moses kah a uen bangla BOEIPA ol dongah Levi koca rhoek loh a laengpang dongah a hnokohcung neh a koh uh.
The children of the Levites bore God’s ark on their shoulders with its poles, as Moses commanded according to the LORD’s word.
16 David loh Levi mangpa rhoek taengah amah boeinaphung te lumlaa kah a tumbael neh thangpa neh, rhotoeng neh tlaklak neh aka hlai khaw, kohoenah ol neh pomsang ham aka yaak sak khaw a pai sak ham te a thui pah.
David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy.
17 Te dongah Levi rhoek loh Joel capa Heman neh a manuca khui lamkah Berekiah capa Asaph, a manuca Merari koca lamkah Kushaiah capa Ethan a tuek uh.
So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
18 Amih neh a manuca rhoek hmatoeng ah Zekhariah koca, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Elipheleh, Mikneiah, Obededom neh thoh tawt Jeiel.
and with them their brothers of the second rank: Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the doorkeepers.
19 Laa neh aka hlai Heman, Asaph neh Ethan loh rhohum tlaklak neh a yaak sak.
So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were given cymbals of bronze to sound aloud;
20 Zekhariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, Benaiah loh Alamoth thangpa neh.
and Zechariah, Aziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah, with stringed instruments set to Alamoth;
21 Rhotoeng neh parhet bangla aka mawt, Mattithiah, Elipheleh, Mikneiah, Obededom, Jeiel, Azaziah.
and Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jeiel, and Azaziah, with harps tuned to the eight-stringed lyre, to lead.
22 Amah loh a yakming dongah olrhuh neh aka toel Levi kah olrhuh mangpa Kenaniah.
Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, was over the singing. He taught the singers, because he was skilful.
23 Thingkawng hamla thoh tawt Berekiah neh Elkanah.
Berechiah and Elkanah were doorkeepers for the ark.
24 Pathen thingkawng hmai ah olueng aka ueng khosoih Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zekhariah, Benaiah neh Eliezer. Thingkawng ham thoh tawt te Obededom neh Jehiah.
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
25 Te phoeiah David khaw, Israel kah a hamca rhoek khaw, mangpa thawngkhat khaw, Obededom im lamkah BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng te kohoenah neh khuen hamla cet uh.
So David, the elders of Israel, and the captains over thousands went to bring the ark of the LORD’s covenant up out of the house of Obed-Edom with joy.
26 Pathen loh BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng aka kawt Levi rhoek te a bom. Te dongah vaito pumrhih neh tutal pumrih a nawn uh.
When God helped the Levites who bore the ark of the LORD’s covenant, they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.
27 Te vaengah David khaw, thingkawng aka kawt Levi boeih khaw, laa sa rhoek khaw, olrhuh neh aka hlai mangpa Kenaniah khaw baibok hnikul neh yol uh tih David loh takhlawk hnisui a bai thil.
David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the choir master with the singers; and David had an ephod of linen on him.
28 Te vaengah Israel pum loh BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng te tamlung neh, tuki ol neh, olueng neh, tlaklak neh, thangpa, rhotoeng a tum uh tih cet uh.
Thus all Israel brought the ark of the LORD’s covenant up with shouting, with sound of the cornet, with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps.
29 BOEIPA kah paipi thingkawng te David khopuei la a kun vaengah Saul canu Mikhal loh bangbuet lamkah a dan. Te vaengah manghai David a cungpet neh a luem te a hmuh tih anih te a lungbuei ah a sawtsit.
As the ark of the LORD’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.
