1 Aqum ah ka palung ih tlangai to iihkhun nuiah ka pakrong; anih to ka pakrong, toe ka hnu ai.
By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
2 Vaihi kang thawk moe, vangpui thung ih loklamnawk ah kam kaeh han, ka palung ih tlangai to lampuinawk ah ka pakrong han, tiah ka thuih moe, ka pakrong, toe ka hnu ai.
[I said], I will rise now, and go about the city, in the streets and in the broad ways, I will seek him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
3 Vangpui takui misatoep kaminawk mah kai ang hnuk o naah, ka palung ih tlangai to na hnuk o maw? tiah ka dueng.
The watchmen that go about the city found me: [to whom I said], Saw ye him whom my soul loveth?
4 Nihcae to ka poeng pacoengah, ka palung ih tlangai to ka hnuk; anih to ka prawt ai, ka patawn caeng moe, kai cunkung, kam no imkhaan thungah ka hoih.
It was but a little that I passed from them, when I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, until I had brought him into my mother’s house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.
5 Jerusalem canunawk, taw ih sakhi hoi tasuknawk, angmah koehah angthawk ai karoek to, ka tlangai to palawt han ai ah, lok kang thuih o.
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awaken love, until it please.
6 Hmuihoih tui, myrrh hoi hmuenmae zawkung mah zawh ih hmuihoih congca hoiah sak ih hmuihoih thlaek ih hmaikhue kangthawk baktiah praezaek hoiah angzo kami loe mi aa?
Who is this that cometh up out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?
7 Solomon siangpahrang phawhhaih hrang lakok to khen oh; to loe misahoih Israel misatuh qui tarukto mah takui o.
Behold, it is the litter of Solomon; threescore mighty men are about it, of the mighty men of Israel.
8 Nihcae loe sumsen to sin o moe, misatuh kop kami ah oh o boih; zitthoh pongah aqum ah, angmacae ih phaih nuiah sumsen to koeng o boih.
They all handle the sword, [and] are expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh, because of fear in the night.
9 Solomon siangpahrang loe angmah hanah, misatukhaih hrang lakok to, Lebanon ih thing hoiah a sak.
King Solomon made himself a palanquin of the wood of Lebanon.
10 Tungnawk to sumkanglung hoiah sak moe, imcih loe sui hoiah a sak; a nui khukhaih loe rong kamling hup hoiah sak moe, athung bangah loe Jerusalem canunawk mah koeh koi kaom ah a sak.
He made the pillars thereof of silver, the bottom thereof of gold, the seat of it of purple, the midst thereof being paved with love, from the daughters of Jerusalem.
11 Nangcae Zion canunawk, caeh oh loe, zulakhaih ni, a poek nawmhaih niah, amno mah angmueksak ih angraeng lumuek angmuek Solomon siangpahrang to khen oh.
Go forth, O ye daughters of Zion, and behold king Solomon, with the crown wherewith his mother hath crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.
