And it was in [the] days of [the] judging of the judges and it was a famine in the land and he went a man from Beth-lehem Judah to sojourn in [the] region of Moab he and wife his and [the] two sons his.
2 To kami ih ahmin loe Elimelek, a zu ih ahmin loe Noami; a capa hnik ih ahmin loe Mahlon hoi Kilion. Nihcae loe Judah prae Bethelhem vangpui Ephrathah ih kami ah oh o. Nihcae loe Moab prae ah caeh o moe, to ah khosak o.
And [the] name of the man [was] Elimelech and [the] name of wife his [was] Naomi and [the] name of [the] two sons his - [was] Mahlon and Kilion Ephrathites from Beth-lehem Judah and they came [the] region of Moab and they were there.
3 Naomi sava Elimelek to duek pacoengah, a zu loe a caa hnetto hoiah a hmaih.
And he died Elimelech [the] husband of Naomi and she was left she and [the] two sons her.

And they took for themselves wives Moabite [the] name of the one [was] Orpah and [the] name of the second [was] Ruth and they dwelt there about ten years.

And they died also both of them Mahlon and Kilion and she was left the woman from both children her and from husband her.

And she arose she and daughters-in-law her and she returned from [the] region of Moab if she had heard in [the] region of Moab that he had visited Yahweh people his by giving to them food.
7 Anih loe a langah hnik hoi nawnto angthawk moe, Judah prae ah caeh.
And she went out from the place where she had been there and [the] two daughters-in-law her [were] with her and they went on the way to return to [the] land of Judah.
8 Naomi mah angmah ih langah hnik khaeah, Nam no im ah, amlaem hoi let halat ah; kadueh ka sava hoi capa hnik nuiah tahmenhaih na tawnh hoi baktih toengah, Angraeng mah tahmenhaih amtuengsak tih hmang.
And she said Naomi to [the] two daughters-in-law her go return [each] woman to [the] house of mother her (may he deal *Q(K)*) Yahweh with you covenant loyalty just as you have dealt with the dead and with me.
9 Sava na sak hoi let naah na sava im ah monghaih hoiah na oh hoi thai hanah, Angraeng mah abomh nasoe, tiah a naa. To pacoengah nihnik to a mok; to naah nihnik loe paroeai qah hoi.
May he give Yahweh to you and find rest [each] woman [the] house of husband her and she kissed them and they raised voice their and they wept.
10 Anih khaeah, Kai hnik doeh na hnukah nangmah ih kaminawk khaeah kang zoh hoi toeng han, tiah a naa hoi.
And they said to her that with you we will return to people your.
11 Toe Noami mah, Ka canu hnik, im ah amlaem hoi halat ah; tipongah ka hnukah nang zoh hoi han loe? Nang hnik mah sava ah lak koi ka zok thungah capa ka tawn vop maw?
And she said Naomi go back O daughters my why? will you go with me ¿ still [belong] to me [do] sons in inward parts my and they will become of you husbands.
12 Ka canu hnik, amlaem hoi lai ah; kai loe sava sak let han ih doeh mitong boeh. Oep han om vop moe, vaiduem ah sava hoi nawnto ka oh pacoengah, capanawk ka sak langlacadoeh,
Go back O daughters my go for I am [too] old for belonging to a husband if I said there for me [is] hope also I belonged this night to a husband and also I bore sons.
13 nihcae qoeng khuek khoek to na zing hoi thai tih maw? Nihcae pongah sava sah ai ah na om hoi thai poe tih maw? Ka canu hnik, to tih na ai ni; Angraeng ih ban mah kai ang caeh taak boeh pongah, nang hnik hanah paroeai palung ka set, tiah a naa.
¿ Therefore - will you wait until that they will grow up ¿ therefore will you shut yourselves off to not to belong to a husband may not [it be] O daughters my for it is bitter to me very more than you that it has gone forth on me [the] hand of Yahweh.
14 To pongah nihik loe qah hoi let; to pacoengah Orpah loe amni to mok moe, amlaem; toe Ruth loe amni khaeah bang khruek.
And they raised voice their and they wept again and she kissed Orpah mother-in-law her and Ruth she clung to her.
15 To naah Noami mah, Khenah, nam nawk loe angmah ih kaminawk hoi angmah ih sithawnawk khaeah amlaem let boeh; nang doeh nam nawk hnukah amlaem toeng khae, tiah a naa.
And she said there! she has returned sister-in-law your to people her and to gods her go back after sister-in-law your.
16 Toe Ruth mah, Kai na caeh taak hmah; na hnukah bang ai ah amlaemsak ving hmah; na caehhaih ahmuen ah ka caeh moe, na ohhaih ahmuen ah ka oh toeng han; nang ih kaminawk loe kai ih kami ah om o ueloe, na Sithaw loe ka Sithaw ah om tih.
And she said Ruth may not you entreat me to abandon you to turn back from after you for to where you will go I will go and at where you will lodge I will lodge people your [will be] people my and God your [will be] God my.
17 Na duek naah ka duek moe, to ah kang phum toeng han; nang hoi kai loe duekhaih khue mah tapraek nasoe, to tiah ka om ai nahaeloe, Angraeng mah a koehhaih baktih toengah, ka nuiah danpaek nasoe, kanung parai ah danpaek nasoe, tiah a naa.
At where you will die I will die and there I will be buried thus may he do Yahweh to me and thus may he add if death it will separate between me and between you.
18 Ruth loe anih hnukah bang han koeh tangtang, tiah Noami mah panoek naah, anih to anghngai taak duem.
And she saw that [was] determined she to go with her and she ceased to speak to her.
19 To pongah nihnik loe Bethlehem vangpui ah caeh hoi poe. Bethlehem vangpui a phak hoi naah, nihnik angzoh ti, tiah vangpui boih mah panoek o naah, Hae kami loe Noami na ai maw? tiah a thuih o.
And they went [the] two of them until came they Beth-lehem and it was when came they Beth-lehem and it was excited all the city on them and they [fem] said ¿ [is] this Naomi.
20 To naah anih mah nihcae khaeah, Naomi, tiah na kawk o hmah lai ah; Thacak Angraeng mah ka hinghaih khaasak boeh pongah, Mara, tiah na kawk oh.
And she said to them may not you call me Naomi call me Mara for he has caused bitterness [the] Almighty to me exceedingly.
21 Ka tacawt naah hmuen boih kakoep ah ka tawnh; toe vaihi kam laem let naah loe, Angraeng mah bangkrai ah amlaemsak. Angraeng mah ang pahnaem tathuk moe, Thacak Angraeng mah amtangsak boeh pongah, tih hanah kai hae Naomi, tiah nang kawk o vop loe? tiah a naa.
I full I went and empty he has brought back me Yahweh why? do you call me Naomi and Yahweh he has testified against me and [the] Almighty he has done harm to me.
22 To pongah Naomi loe Moab prae hoi kabang a langah Ruth hoi nawnto amlaem hoi moe, barli cang aahhaih tue phak naah Bethlehem vangpui to a phak hoi.
And she returned Naomi and Ruth the Moabite [woman] daughter-in-law her [was] with her who returned from [the] region of Moab and they they came Beth-lehem at [the] beginning of [the] harvest of barley.
