< Rom 6 >
1 Kawbangmaw a tih o han? Tahmenhaih pop aep hanah zaehaih a sak o poe han maw?
To what conclusion, then, shall we come? Are we to persist in sinning in order that the grace extended to us may be the greater?
2 A sah o mak ai. Zaehaih thungah a duek o boeh loe, kawbangmaw to zaehaih thungah a hing o let thai tih?
No, indeed; how shall we who have died to sin, live in it any longer?
3 Kri Jesu ah tuinuem kaminawk boih loe Anih duekhaih ah ni tuinuem o, tito na panoek o ai maw?
And do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Duekhaih ah tuinuem rang hoiah aicae loe anih hoi nawnto aphum boeh: Kri loe Ampa lensawkhaih hoiah duekhaih thung hoi angthawk let baktih toengah, aicae doeh kangtha hinghaih loklam ah a caeh o toeng tih.
Well, then, we by our baptism were buried with Him in death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from among the dead by the Father's glorious power, we also should live an entirely new life.
5 Anih hoi nawnto a duek o boeh nahaeloe, Anih angthawk lethaih ah doeh Anih hoi nawnto angthawk o let tih.
For since we have become one with Him by sharing in His death, we shall also be one with Him by sharing in His resurrection.
6 Zaehaih takpum to amrosak ving moe, vaihi hoi kamtong zaehaih tamna ah a oh o han ai ah, aicae ih kami kangquem loe Anih hoi nawnto thinglam pongah takhing boeh, tiah a panoek o.
This we know--that our old self was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our sinful nature might be deprived of its power, so that we should no longer be the slaves of sin;
7 To pongah kadueh kami loe zaehaih thung hoiah loih boeh.
for he who has paid the penalty of death stands absolved from his sin.
8 Vaihi Kri hoi nawnto a duek o nahaeloe, Anih hoi nawnto a hing o tih, tiah tanghaih a tawnh o:
But, seeing that we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him;
9 Kri loe duekhaih thung hoi angthawk let boeh pongah, dueh let mak ai boeh; duekhaih mah Anih to uk mak ai boeh, tiah a panoek o.
because we know that Christ, having come back to life, is no longer liable to die.
10 Anih duek naah, zaehaih pongah vaito ni a duek: toe Anih hing naah loe Sithaw ah ni a hing.
Death has no longer any power over Him. For by the death which He died He became, once for all, dead in relation to sin; but by the life which He now lives He is alive in relation to God.
11 To baktih toengah nangcae doeh zaehaih thungah ka duek o, toe aicae Angraeng Kri Jesu rang hoiah Sithaw ah ka hing o boeh, tiah poek oh.
In the same way you also must regard yourselves as dead in relation to sin, but as alive in relation to God, because you are in Christ Jesus.
12 To pongah taksa koehhaih pazui han ai ah, kadueh thaih na taksa to zaehaih mah uk hma lai nasoe.
Let not Sin therefore reign as king in your mortal bodies, causing you to be in subjection to their cravings;
13 Na takpum tanghangnawk to katoeng ai hmuen sak hanah patoh o hmah: toe duekhaih thung hoi kangthawk, hinghaih tawn kaminawk baktiah, katoeng hmuen sak hanah na takpum tanghangnawk to Sithaw khaeah angpaek oh.
and no longer lend your faculties as unrighteous weapons for Sin to use. On the contrary surrender your very selves to God as living men who have risen from the dead, and surrender your several faculties to God, to be used as weapons to maintain the right.
14 Nangcae loe kaalok thungah na om o ai, tahmenhaih thungah ni na oh o boeh, to pongah zaehaih mah nangcae uk han om ai boeh.
For Sin shall not be lord over you, since you are subjects not of Law, but of grace.
15 Kawbangah maw oh boeh? Kaalok thungah a om o ai, tahmenhaih thungah ni a oh o boeh, to pongah zaehaih a sak o han vop maw? A sah o mak ai.
Are we therefore to sin because we are no longer under the authority of Law, but under grace? No, indeed!
16 Duekhaih omsak zaehaih khaeah maw, to tih ai boeh loe toenghaih omsak lok tahngaihaih khaeah misong baktiah a lok tahngaih pae han nang paek o naah, lok na tahngaih pae kami ih tamna ah ni na oh o, tito na panoek o ai maw?
Do you not know that if you surrender yourselves as bondservants to obey any one, you become the bondservants of him whom you obey, whether the bondservants of Sin (with death as the result) or of Duty (resulting in righteousness)?
17 Nangcae loe zae tamna ah na oh o, toe nangcae loihsakkung patukhaih lok to palung tang hoi na tang o pongah, Sithaw khaeah kawnhaih lok thuih han ka tawnh.
But thanks be to God that though you were once in thraldom to Sin, you have now yielded a hearty obedience to that system of truth in which you have been instructed.
18 Nangcae loe zaehaih thung hoi loih boeh moe, toenghaih tamna ah na oh o boeh.
You were set free from the tyranny of Sin, and became the bondservants of Righteousness--
19 Taksa ah tha na zok o pongah, kami baktiah ni lok kang thuih o: zaehaih sak aep hanah na takpum tanghangnawk to ciimcai ai zaehaih misong ah nang paek o baktih toengah, ciimcai hanah vaihi na takpum tanghangnawk to toenghaih misong ah angpaek oh.
your human infirmity leads me to employ these familiar figures--and just as you once surrendered your faculties into bondage to Impurity and ever-increasing disregard of Law, so you must now surrender them into bondage to Righteousness ever advancing towards perfect holiness.
20 Nangcae zaehaih misong ah na oh o naah, toenghaih hoiah na loih o boeh.
For when you were the bondservants of sin, you were under no sort of subjection to Righteousness.
21 Vaihi na sak o ih azat kaom hmuennawk pongah nangcae mah tih hoihhaih atho maw na hnuk o? To baktih hmuennawk loe duekhaih hoiah ni boeng o.
At that time, then, what benefit did you get from conduct which you now regard with shame? Why, such things finally result in death.
22 Toe vaihi loe zaehaih thung hoi na loih o boeh moe, Sithaw ih tamna ah na oh o boeh, ciimcaihaih thingthai to na hnuk o, hnukkhuem ah, dungzan hinghaih to na hnu o tih. (aiōnios )
But now that you have been set free from the tyranny of Sin, and have become the bondservants of God, you have your reward in being made holy, and you have the Life of the Ages as the final result. (aiōnios )
23 Zaehaih tho loe duekhaih ih ni; toe Sithaw tangqum loe aicae Angraeng Kri Jesu rang hoiah dungzan hinghaih ah oh. (aiōnios )
For the wages paid by Sin are death; but God's free gift is the Life of the Ages bestowed upon us in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios )
