< Rom 2 >
1 To pongah, nang, minawk lokcaekkung, nangmah to doeh na hoikhang ai, minawk lokcaekkung, nang mah doeh to tiah na sak toeng pongah, minawk lok na caek naah nangmah hoi nangmah zaehaih angnet kami ah ni na oh.
For which reason, you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are, that judge; for in that in which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge, practice the same things.
2 Toe to baktih hmuen sah kaminawk loe Sithaw mah loktang lok baktih toengah lokcaekhaih to om tih, tiah a panoek o.
But we know that the judgment of God against those who practice such things, is according to truth.
3 Aw kami, to baktih hmuen sah kami lokcaekkung, nang doeh to baktih hmuen to na sak toeng pongah, Sithaw lokcaekhaih thung hoi ka loih tih, tiah na poek maw?
But do you, O man, who judge those that practice such things, and yet do the same, conclude that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 To tih ai boeh loe Sithaw hoihhaih mah dawnpakhuem hanah ang caeh haih, tito panoek ai ah, Sithaw angraenghaih ah kaom a hoihhaih, pauephaih hoi paroeai palungsawkhaih to na patoek maw?
Or, do you despise the riches of his goodness, and his forbearance, and his long suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
5 Toe nang loe palung na thah moe, dawnpakhuemhaih na tawn ai. Sithaw palungphuihaih ni to phak moe, katoeng a lokcaekhaih amtueng na han ih maw, nangmah hanah to palungphuihaih to na patungh;
But, according to your hard and impenitent heart, you treasure up to yourself wrath for a day of wrath, and of the revelation of the righteous judgment of God,
6 Sithaw loe a sak o ih baktih toengah kami boih hanah paek tih:
who will render to every man according to his works;
7 kahoih hmuen sah kami, lensawkhaih, khingyahaih hoi amro thai ai hmuen pakrong kaminawk hanah loe dungzan hinghaih to paek tih: (aiōnios )
to those who, by patient continuance in good works, seek for glory and honor and incorruptibility, eternal life: (aiōnios )
8 toe angmah taham pakrong kami, loktang lok tahngai ai kami, toenghaih loklam to pahnawt moe, zaehaih loklam pazui kaminawk nuiah loe palungphuihaih to om tih,
but to those who are contentious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, anger and wrath,
9 kahoih ai hmuen sah kaminawk nuiah loe patangkhanghaih hoi palungsethaih to om tih, Judahnawk khaeah om hmaloe ueloe, Gentelnawk khaeah doeh om tih;
affliction and distress, upon every soul of man that practices what is evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek:
10 toe kahoih hmuen sah kaminawk loe lensawkhaih, khingyahaih hoi monghaihnawk to hnu o tih, Judahnawk khaeah om hmaloe ueloe, Gentelnawk khaeah doeh om tih:
but glory and honor and peace to every one that practices what is good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek:
11 Sithaw loe kami ih mikhmai to khen ai.
for there is no respect of persons with God.
12 Kaalok ai ah zaehaih sah kaminawk loe, kaalok ai ah amro o tih: kaalok thungah zaehaih sah kaminawk loe kaalok mah lokcaek tih;
For as many as have sinned without law, shall also perish without law; and as many as have sinned under law, shall be judged by law,
13 (kaalok thaih kaminawk loe Sithaw hmaa ah katoeng kami ah om thai ai, kaalok pazui kaminawk khue ni katoeng kami ah om o tih;
in the day when God shall judge the secret works of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.
14 Gentelnawk loe kaalok tawn o ai, toe angmacae koehah kaalok to pazui o naah, kaalok tawn o ai e, nihcae hanah kaalok ah oh pae boeh:
For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
15 kasae kahoih panoekhaih loe nihcae palung thungah tarik ih kaalok baktiah oh pae boeh, to tiah panoekhaih mah aicae loe zae net ih kami ah maw a oh o, to tih ai boeh loe zae tahmen ih kami, tito amtuengsak; )
For when the Gentiles, who have not a law, do, by nature, the things of the law, these who have not a law, are a law to themselves,
16 Sithaw mah Jesu Kri rang hoiah kaminawk mah tamquta hoi sak o ih hmuennawk lokcaek na niah loe, ka thuih ih kahoih tamthanglok hoiah ni lokcaek tih.
who show that the work which the law requires, is written in their hearts, their conscience bearing testimony, and their reasonings with each other accusing, or making excuse.
17 Khenah, nang loe Judah kami, tiah kawk ih kami, kaalok ah amhaa kami, Sithaw amoek haih kami,
But if you are named Jew, and rest in the law, and make your boast in God.
18 anih koehhaih panoek kami, kaalok mah patuk ih baktih toengah, kahoih kue hmuennawk panoek tawn kami,
and know his will, and approve what is excellent, being instructed by the law:
19 nangmah hoi nangmah to mikmaeng zaehoikung, khoving thungah kaom kaminawk aanghaih paekkung,
if you are also confident that you yourself are a guide for the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
20 kaalok thungah palunghahaih hoi loktang to oh pongah, kamthunawk loklam patuek kami hoi nawktanawk patukkung maeto ah ka oh o, tiah na poek.
an instructor of the simple, a teacher of the unlearned, because you have the form of true knowledge in the law;
21 Nangmah hoi nangmah ca amtuk ai ah maw, minawk kalah to ca na patuk? Paquk han ai ah kami khaeah lok na thuih e, nangmah loe na paquk maw?
you, then, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?
22 Kami maeto loe zu sava laep ah zaehaih sak han om ai, tiah na thuih, toe nang mah loe zu sava laep ah zaehaih na sak maw? Krang bokhaih to na panuet, toe tempul thung ih hmuennawk to na lomh maw?
You who say that a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?
23 Kaalok amoek haih kami mah, kaalok aekhaih hoiah Sithaw ih ahmin kasae na thuih maw?
You who make your boast in the law, do you, by transgressing the law, dishonor God?
24 Cabu thungah, nangcae pongah Gentelnawk salakah Sithaw ahmin kasae thuihhaih to oh boeh, tiah tarik ih oh.
For the name of God is reviled among the Gentiles, on account of you, as it is written.
25 Kaalok na pazui nahaeloe, tangyat hin aahhaih to atho oh: toe kaalok to na aek nahaeloe, tangyat hin na aah o haih loe tangyat hin aat ai baktiah ni oh.
Now, circumcision is indeed profitable, if you keep the law: but, if you transgress the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.
26 To pongah, tangyat hin aat ai kami mah katoeng kaalok to pazui nahaeloe, anih to tangyat hin aat kami baktiah poek mak ai maw?
If, then, he who is uncircumcised keeps the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 To pongah taksa ah tangyat hin aat ai kami mah kaalok to pazui nahaeloe, Cabu tawn kami hoi tangyat hin aat kami ah na oh o cadoeh, kaalok pazui ai kami nang to lok na caek mak ai maw?
And shall not he whose want of circumcision is owing to his birth, if he keeps the law, condemn you, who, by the literal circumcision, transgress the law?
28 Taksa ah kamtueng, tasa bang kamtueng taksa ah tangyat hin aat kami loe, Judah kami na ai ni:
For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh:
29 toe a thung ih taksa ah tangyat hin aat kami to ni Judah kami tangtang: Cabu thung ih lok baktih toengah tangyat hin aat kami na ai ah, Muithla rang hoiah palungthin tangyat hin aat kami to ni, Judah kami tangtang; to baktih kami pakoehhaih loe kami khae hoiah angzo ai e, Sithaw khae hoiah angzoh.
but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.
