< Rom 10 >
1 Nawkamyanawk, Israelnawk pahlonghaih hnuk hanah, palung thungah koehhaih oh pongah, Sithaw khaeah lawk ka thuih pae.
Brothers, the desire of my heart and my prayer to God is that Israel may be saved.
2 Nihcae loe Sithaw azom o, tiah ka hnuk, toe panoekhaih bangah khodai o ai.
I can testify that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Nihcae loe Sithaw toenghaih to pahnawt o moe, Sithaw toenghaih ah amha o ai ah, angmacae toenghaih to sak hanah pakrong o lat.
For they do not understand the righteousness of God, and by seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God's righteousness.
4 Tang kaminawk boih toenghaih hnuk thai hanah, Kri loe kaalok boenghaih ah oh.
For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Mosi mah, To hmuennawk sah pazui kami loe to hmuennawk sak pazuihaih rang hoiah hing tih, tiah kaalok rang hoiah kaom toenghaih kawng to tarik.
Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”
6 Toe tanghaih rang hoiah kaom toenghaih mah loe, (Kri to ranui bang hoiah hoih tathuk hanah, ) Mi maw van ah daw tahang tih? tiah na palung thung hoiah thui hmah:
But the righteousness that is by faith speaks like this: “Do not say in yoʋr heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
7 to tih ai boeh loe, (Duekhaih thung hoi Kri pathawk let hanah, ) Mi maw kathuk thungah angthum tathuk tih? tiah thui hmah, tiah thuih. (Abyssos )
“or, ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos )
8 Kawbangah maw a thuih tih nahaeloe, Lok loe na taengah oh, na pakha hoi na palung thungah oh: to lok loe aicae mah a thuih o ih, tanghaih lok to ni;
But what does it say? “The word is near yoʋ, in yoʋr mouth and in yoʋr heart” (that is, the word of faith that we preach),
9 Jesu loe Angraeng ni, tiah pakha hoi na taphong moe, Sithaw mah Anih to duekhaih thung hoiah pathawk let boeh, tiah palung thung hoi na tang nahaeloe, pahlong ah na om tih.
because if yoʋ confess with yoʋr mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with yoʋr heart that God raised him from the dead, yoʋ will be saved.
10 Palung thung hoi tang naah toenghaih to oh; pakha hoi taphong naah pahlonghaih to oh.
For with the heart belief is exercised, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation.
11 Mi kawbaktih doeh Anih tang kami loe azathaih tongh mak ai, tiah Cabu mah thuih.
As the Scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
12 Anih kawk kaminawk boih nuiah paawt ai ah kapaek Angraeng maeto khue ni oh, to pongah Judah hoi Grik lahhaih to om ai boeh.
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call upon him.
13 Mi kawbaktih doeh Angraeng hmin kawk kami loe pahlong ah om tih.
For “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 To tiah nahaeloe tanghaih tawn ai kaminawk mah anih to kawbangmaw kawk o tih? Nihcae mah thaihaih tawn ai ah kawbangmaw Anih to tang o tih? Lok thui kami om ai ah kawbangmaw nihcae mah thaih o tih?
How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone preaching?
15 Nihcae to patoeh ai ah kawbangmaw nihcae mah thui o tih? Angdaehhaih kahoih tamthanglok thui kami hoi khosak kahoih anghoehaih tamthang sin kaminawk ih khok loe kawkrukmaw kranghoih! tiah tarik ih oh.
And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who preach good news of good things!”
16 Toe nihcae boih mah kahoih tamthanglok to tang o ai. Tahmaa Isaiah mah, Angraeng, ka thuih o ih lok tang kami oh maw? tiah thuih.
But not all the Israelites have obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
17 Tanghaih loe thaihhaih hoiah angzoh, thaihhaih loe Sithaw lok hoiah oh.
So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes through the word of God.
18 Toe nihcae loe thaih o ai maw? A thaih o boeh, Nihcae ih lok loe long pum ah phak boeh, a thuih o ih loknawk doeh long boenghaih khoek to phak boeh, tiah ka thuih.
But I ask, have they not heard? On the contrary, “The message has gone out into all the earth, and the words to the ends of the world.”
19 Hae tiah ka thuih, Israel kaminawk loe panoek o ai maw? Hmaloe koekah Mosi mah, Acaeng kami ah kaom ai kaminawk to kang utsak moe, amthu kaminawk hoiah palung kang phui o sak han, tiah thuih.
Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a nation that has no understanding I will provoke you to anger.”
20 Tahmaa Isaiah mah, Kai pakrong ai kaminawk mah Kai ang hnuk o; Kai khaeah hni ai kaminawk khaeah Kam tueng pae, tiah misa hoihhaih hoiah lokthuih.
And Isaiah is even bold enough to say, “I was found by those who were not seeking me; I became known to those who were not asking for me.”
21 Toe Israel kaminawk khaeah loe anih mah, Lok tahngai ai kaminawk hoi lokaek kaminawk khaeah, athun qui ban ka payangh, tiah thuih.
But to Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
