< Saam 1 >
1 Katoeng ai kaminawk ih thuitaekhaih thungah caeh ai, kazae kaminawk ih loklam ah doeh angdoe ai moe, pahnuithuih kaminawk anghnuthaih ahmuen ah anghnu ai kami,
BOOK FIRST: Happy is the man who walketh not in the council of the wicked, and standeth not in the way of sinners, and sitteth not in the seat of scorners;
2 Angraeng mah paek ih lok pongah anghoehaih tawn kami, Angraeng mah paek ih lok khoving khodai poek toepsoep kami loe tahamhoih.
But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who doth meditate in his law by day and night.
3 Anih loe tuipuinawk taengah thling moe, atue phak naah athai, aqam zaek vai ai thing hoiah anghmong; to kami loe a sak ih hmuen boih ah hmacawn tih.
And he shall be like a tree planted by rivulets of water, that yieldeth its fruit in its season, and the leaf of which doth not wither; and all that he may do shall prosper.
4 Katoeng ai kaminawk loe to tiah om o ai; nihcae loe takhi mah hmuh phaeng ih canghii baktiah ni oh o.
Not so the wicked; but they are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 To pongah katoeng ai kaminawk loe lokcaekhaih ahmuen ah angdoe o thai mak ai, kazae kaminawk doeh katoeng kaminawk amkhuenghaih ahmuen ah athum o thai mak ai.
Therefore shall the wicked not be able to stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 Angraeng loe katoeng kaminawk ih loklam to panoek; katoeng ai kaminawk ih loklam loe amro tih.
For the Lord regardeth the way of the righteous; but the way of the wicked leadeth to perdition.
