< Saam 90 >

1 Sithaw kami Mosi lawkthuihaih.
A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, you have been a home to us one generation after another.
2 Maenawk loe om o ai vop, longlai hoi long na sah ai nathuem hoi boeh ni, nang loe dungzan hoi dugzan khoek to Sithaw ah na oh boeh.
Before the mountains were born, or the earth and the world were brought forth, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
3 Kami to nam rosak; kami ih caanawk, amlaem o let ah, tiah na naa.
You bring us back to the dust, you summon mortals to return.
For you see a thousand years as the passing of yesterday, as a watch in the night.
5 Nihcae to tui mah pazawk baktiah na lak ving; nihcae loe ka iip baktiah oh o moe, akhawnbang ah tacawt tahang phroh baktiah oh o.
Your floods sweep them away; they are like a dream, or like grass which sprouts in the morning,
6 Phroh loe akhawnbang ah sai moe, qoeng tahang, duembang ah loe amro moe, azaem ving.
which blossoms and sprouts in the morning, but by evening is cut and withered.
For your anger consumes us, the heat of your wrath confounds us.
Our sins you have set before you, our secrets in the light of your face.
9 Palung na phui pongah kaicae ih aninawk loe laemh boeh; saningnawk loe thuih ih ruici baktiah ni ka laemh o sak boeh.
For through your wrath our days are declining, we bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10 Kaicae hinghaih saning loe qui sarihto sawk; thacak nahaeloe saning qui tazetto pha tih; khosak hoih li nathuem ah doeh patanghaih hoi palungsethaih khue ni oh; toe saningnawk loe akra ai ah laemh o, kaicae doeh kang hmat kang taa o.
The span of our life is seventy years, or, if we are strong, maybe eighty; yet is their breadth but empty toil, for swiftly they go, and we fly away.
Who lays to heart the power of your anger? Or who stands in reverent awe of your wrath?
O teach us to count our days so our minds may learn wisdom.
13 Aw Angraeng, amlaem let ah, nasetto maw akra vop tih? Na tamnanawk nuiah tahmenhaih to tawn ah.
Return, O Lord; why so long? Relent on your servants.
14 Na tahmenhaih rang hoiah akhawnbang ah zok amhahsak ah; to tiah nahaeloe ka hing o thung anghoehaih hoi oephaih hoiah ka om o tih.
Grant us your love to the full in the morning, that all our days we may shout for joy.
15 Kaicae patang nang khangsakhaih saning, kasae tonghaih saning paroeai pop boeh pongah, kaicae anghoehaih atue to na paek ah.
Make us glad for the days you have humbled us, for the evil years we have seen.
16 Na sak ih hmuen to na tamnanawk khaeah amtuengsak ah loe, na lensawkhaih to a caanawk khaeah amtuengsak ah.
Let your servants see you in action, show your majesty to their children.
17 Aicae Angraeng Sithaw tahmenhaih aicae nuiah om nasoe; kaimacae ban hoi ka sak o ih tok to na caksak ah; ue, kaimacae ban hoi ka sak o ih tok to na caksak ah.
Let the grace of the Lord our God be upon us, uphold what our hands are striving to do.
