1 Katoeng kruek zaehoikung hanah. Anih mah oih ih bungmu loe, angthla parai oak thing pong ih pahuu baktiah oh. Gath ah Philistin kaminawk mah David naeh o naah David ih miktam.
For the choirmaster. To the tune of “A Dove on Distant Oaks.” A Miktam of David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath. Be merciful to me, O God, for men are hounding me; all day they press their attack.
My enemies pursue me all day long, for many proudly assail me.
When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.
4 A lok to ka pakoeh han, Sithaw ka oep pongah ka zii mak ai, kami mah kawbangmaw na naa thai tih?
In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
5 Nihcae loe ni thokkruek ka loknawk to tamet o, ka nuiah kahoih ai poekhaih a tawnh o.
All day long they twist my words; all their thoughts are on my demise.
6 Nihcae mah ka hinghaih tamit hanah angang o naah, nawnto amkhueng o, anghawk o moe, ka caehhaih khok tangkan to khet parui o.
They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps while they wait to take my life.
7 Nihcae loe sakpazaehaih hoiah loih o tih maw? Aw Sithaw, palung na phuihaih hoiah to kaminawk to amtimsak ah.
In spite of such sin, will they escape? In Your anger, O God, cast down the nations.
8 Ahmuen kruekah kam hethaih to na poek paeh loe, ka mikkhraetuinawk hae nangmah ih pailang thungah na khrum paeh: to mikkhraetuinawk loe na cabu thungah oh na ai maw?
You have taken account of my wanderings. Put my tears in Your bottle— are they not in Your book?
9 Sithaw kai khaeah oh pongah, kang kawk naah, ka misanawk loe hnukbangah angnawn o tih, tiah ka panoek.
Then my enemies will retreat on the day I cry for help. By this I will know that God is on my side.
10 Sithaw oephaih hoiah a lok to ka pakoeh han; Sithaw oephaih hoiah a lok to ka pakoeh han.
In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise,
in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Your vows are upon me, O God; I will render thank offerings to You.
13 Tipongah tih nahaeloe duekhaih thung hoiah nang loisak boeh; Sithaw hmaa ah ka hing kaminawk ih aanghaih hoiah ka caeh thai hanah, ka khok hae nam thaeksak ai.
For You have delivered my soul from death, and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
